Anyone else watch the first episode of 'Conk on Britain'? It's on BBC2 and written by Charlie Brooker. Found the first episode absolutely comical!
EDIT 12/04/18: I meant 'Cunk On Britain' , darn typos!

Has anyone seen the last Jedi I have, twice in the cinema, and felt really let down by it. But as I'm getting a copy of the DVD soon, I'm willing to give it a third chance - but I'm unsure if it'll change my perspective of it. I've found myself prefer The Force Awakens to the Last Jedi, despite what all - including myself, have to say about that film.

My issue with the last jedi is how contrived the starship plot is, Rey was sorta Mary Sue however there is a tension as she does lean near the dark side. In the starship plot it felt contrived, plots are kept secret for no good reason, battleships are made out of paper, and no one has heard of electronic warfare. It tried to be a military sci-fi series and failed utterly.
Ill be sticking with Dougram, Gundam, and other sci-fi military series like that.

I re-watched it myself the other day, and I echo a lot of what you've said about Last Jedi. Also, there's just ideas with certain characters that could have been easily executed but was just thrown out of the window when you can clearly see that's what was being strived for i.e. the Vice-Admiral of the Resistance could have easily turned out to be working for the First Order. Also, instead of going to a whole other planet to find a codebreaker, they could have gone and helped Maz out and then encountered Benicio Del Toro's character who Maz perhaps might have known or not trusted and then him be the only option they actually had. Plus, and to conclude, some of these deleted scenes from the film should have been put in the movie - instead of scenes like Luke milking the Sea Cow or going fishing:

With the "demise" of Photobucket, does anyone know any good image hosting sites?

Not that I have much use for hosting, but I use Flickr. It has a good mobile app, so I can upload directly from my phone and then host on a place such as SiF. Image quality is sufficient, and is free of charge

I use imgur personally. Another free to use site and automatically can generate the type of post you need if you’re embedding or posting on a forum with the image.

I am not quite technically minded to say the least.

BREAKING NEWS The new episodes of Steven Universe have aired here in America. The first episode, "Can't Go Back", is the return of Lapis, while the second...oh, boy...it's so big, I have to put a spoiler tag on it: The previously-debunked theory that Rose Quartz is Pink Diamond has, all of a sudden, been CONFIRMED. Pink Diamond and her Pearl (the Pearl we know) faked her death to get the other Diamonds to leave the Earth alone. It worked too well, starting the civil war that ended with the Diamonds corrupting the unprotected gems into hideous monsters.

There's an artist I've been into for a year now - Hannah's Yard. She's just released a new single from her album that was a B-side track in the beginning. I think it sounds amazing! What do you think?

Back when SI3D Forum was open (is there a reason why it was put in maintenance mode? Couldn't they have just renamed it, gotten new mods, and left it as a hub for all things Thomas Trainz), I would recount my most recent trip. I called it the "BNSF1995 Trip Report". I brought it back over on ZachmanAwesomenessII's forum, but that forum hasn't been getting much traffic. So, I've decided that, from here on out, I'll be posting the report both there, and here. Henceforth, for the first time on SiF, I present to you, the... BNSF1995 Trip Report * Thursday: After my therapy session, me and my mom returned home, where my aunt and brother were loading the former's car, an Audi Q5 with built-in wifi. Our destination: our cabin in South Lake Tahoe, California. My grandma was originally meant to come with us, but she wasn't feeling well (it was just a mild case of exhaustion, nothing more). We took my aunt's normal route to Tahoe: over Altamont Pass and on Grant Line Rd. Dinner was in Placerville, where we originally intended to eat at Jack Russell Brewery, but it was already closed for the night (we rolled into town around 8 PM), so we ate at Buttercup Pantry across the street instead. We arrived in Tahoe about an hour later, and did a bit of shopping at the Raley's (I already had my cereal, these being Honeycombs Cereal and Oreo-O's; seriously: OREO-O'S). Afterwards, we arrived at the cabin around 11 PM and settled in. * Friday: We learned from the housekeeper that the Sear's at Meadowood Mall in Reno was having a store-closing sale. Since we needed a new oven and a new microwave for the cabin, this was perfect. Originally, we planned to go through Carson City to get there, until we hit a traffic jam near Heavenly Village; our initial thought was that there was a massive accident, until we saw some unusual signage on a nearby road; a quick web search revealed that May 18 just happened to be Stage 6 of the Amgen Tour of California, coming up from Folsom. So, we took the long way around on State Route 89 to Truckee, then getting on I-80 the rest of the way to Reno. My only train catch was the eastbound California Zephyr. Arriving in Reno, we went to Meadowood Mall, found what we were looking for at the dying Sear's (seriously, this place was on its deathbed), scheduled delivery, then went out into the mall to get a late lunch/early dinner (dunch? linner?). We ended up having a fantastic meal at Cheesecake Factory, then departed to do some gambling. For this, we went to the Peppermill Resort, where I had stayed at in late January 2016 (on that trip, you may recall that I took the California Zephyr to and from Reno). I didn't gamble long, as I stuck $10 in a Buffalo machine and walked away with $52.45. After that, I returned to the GameLab. Since I was last there, a few things have changed: there's a few new games such as Cruis'n Blast and Daytona Championship USA, the Mustang pinball machine was working this time, a new Star Wars pinball machine was added, and the candy claw machine with the weak claw was gone. In addition, I noticed their Mario Kart Arcade GP DX machine is configured a bit funnily, lacking the ability to do mini-turbos while also having coins (that, unlike the first two entries, provide zero benefit). I ended up walking away with a bag full of candy (comprised of several varieties of Tootsie Rolls, some Skittles, and some Starburst). We drove back to Tahoe via Carson City on I-580 (which has been continuously constructed since 1964; parts of it are built on the old right-of-way of the Virginia & Truckee Railroad), then over Spooner Summit and through Cave Rock on US-50. We turned in upon arrival. * Saturday: Our hang-around Tahoe day. After spending the morning watching Royal Wedding coverage, we first went to Meek's Lumber on the main drag through town to get some steel wool to plug up some mouse holes, then went to Stateline for more gambling. I once again hit it big, turning $20 into $60-something, before departing for the arcade (before that, though, I watched the Preakness Stakes on the big screen in the lounge area; a very foggy Preakness that saw Justify win it, putting him in position for the Triple Crown). The arcade has had a few changes since last October. For one thing, several new games have been installed, such as a PAW Patrol game (basically, you press a button, and whichever number Ryder is pointing at is the amount of tickets you get; it features all of the pups except Tracker), a skill game in which you have to spin a fidget spinner (yes, a FIDGET SPINNER) at just the right rate (500 RPM nets you 1000 tickets), the game where you drop balls into buckets, and the last of the one-token skeeball machines have been removed for the newer, flashier two-token machines. I won 600-something tickets, not my best performance, but in my defense, several of the high-paying games were broken, and Big Haul and all of the coin-pusher games are gone (the one coin pusher game that remains, the SpongeBob one, was broken). I also ended up getting candy here, mainly bigger stuff like M&M's, Smartees, bigger Tootsie Rolls, and my all-time favorite, Tootsie Pops. Next, we went across the street to the Alpine Union restaurant at the Hard Rock, where I had chicken tenders and fries. Finally, we went across the street again to the MontBleu, where we've never been before, to see what it's like. I put $4 in, and lost it, but it wasn't a big deal. While doing a spot of gambling, I managed to see the last two laps of the NASCAR Monster Energy All-Star Race (Kevin Harvick was unstoppable on the last restart, and of course, NASCAR fans are crying foul like they always do). I also went up to the MontBleu's arcade, perhaps the worst of the three at Stateline, though I still managed to play Crazy Taxi and Ghostbusters pinball. After finding a slot machine that still had credits on it and playing it to get more money, we headed back to the cabin. * Sunday: I'm happy to report I'm not sick today. Last year, when we departed Tahoe, I had a high fever and issues downstairs. We took SR 88 through Jackson again, stopping at a Chili's in Lodi, and returning home around 8-ish. No trains, sadly. My next trip is in a couple of weeks, a short weekend jaunt back up to Tahoe with my aunt and grandma to facilitate delivery of the new appliances, plus more gambling at Stateline. Because I really enjoy getting one over on the Nevada economy.

It's that time again. Time for a BNSF1995 Trip Report I would first like to say this report was originally slated to come two weeks ago, but the trip was postponed to this weekend due to my aunt getting sick (that Friday we were supposed to leave was interesting; the trip got delayed, our eldest bunny Ashley Belle finally broke down and had to be put to sleep, the Warriors won the title, and a brown-out hit around 11; our neighborhood also got hit by a brown-out after the Warriors won in 2015, but in that case, it was during the game, forcing my brother and dad to watch the end at my brother's then-girlfriend's house, while I walked around the block and saw people listening to the game on their car radios). Anyhoo, on to the report: * Friday: Originally, it was going to be me, my aunt, and my grandma, but my mom decided on Tuesday to tag along. We departed around noon-ish, encountering heavy traffic on I-680, I-580, and US-50. Once again, we took my aunt's route via Stockton and Grant Line Road, instead of my mom's route over the Benecia Bridge and through Sacramento. Lunch was at the Chili's in Folsom, where our table was a front-row to light rail viewing. Aside from the light rail, I had two other train catches: a distant Capitol Corridor on I-680, and a UP local near Lodi (and judging by the amount of freight cars in the sidings, it had just gotten done with its switching in the area). We arrived in Tahoe around six-ish, going straight to the Raley's at the Y (I didn't get anything since I already had snacks and another box of Oreo-O's). We went to the cabin and stayed there for the night. * Saturday: The main purpose of this trip was to facilitate delivery of the new appliances purchased at that dying Sear's in Reno on the May 17-20 trip. The delivery window was between 10:45 AM and 12:45 PM, which left us with plenty of time to mess around at Stateline. After the new oven and microwave were delivered (we have to get a guy to install the microwave), we departed for Stateline, first going to Harrah's for some gambling (I lost $10), then through the tunnel under US-50 to Harvey's to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe...which was long-closed, so we instead went to the Alpine Union at the Hard Rock Hotel next door. After lunch, we did a bit more gambling (I lost $4 more), and then went back over to Harrah's so I could play in the arcade. Since last month, the arcade has been rearranged AGAIN. Several new claw machines have been installed (expensive ones, too, costing between 6-8 tokens, whereas it used to be the most expensive was four tokens), Cruis'n Blast was repositioned and is now behind Mario Kart Arcade GP DX, but other than that, nothing else changed. Fish Bowl Frenzy was broken, so getting an easy 500 tickets from that machine was out of the question, and someone hit the 1000 ticket jackpot on Ticket Monster, so the payout had reset. The ball bucket game was also out of order, and I constantly came up short of the 100 ticket target on Big Bass Wheel (it's a thin line, and otherwise you'll get four tickets), so there weren't many opportunities to get tickets. Monsterdrop, however, provided the key, and after one of the two machines had built up nine bonus balls, I managed to get the bonus ball drop, one of which landed in the jackpot hole for 135 tickets (but not the Monster Jackpot, which is 1,500 tickets). I ended up winning 740 tickets, better than last month, but below my average performance. Those tickets went to, of course, CANDY. After blowing another $20 in the Harrah's Casino (putting me at $34 in the hole), we departed for the cabin. The rest of the night was spent lounging. * Sunday: Departure day. Our route took us on SR 88 through Jackson again. Lunch was at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Stockton. No trains today (though I did hear one on the UP Fresno Sub while walking into the restaurant), but at the airport in Livermore, Wingfoot Two, one of the Goodyear Blimps, was landed (actually, Goodyear doesn't have any blimps anymore; they were all replaced by semi-rigid airships built by Zeppelin; the last non-rigid airship was retired last year). We arrived home close to 8. I'll most likely go back up to Tahoe later in the summer, this time with my mom, dad, and brother, and with a visit to Virginia City. The next trip I'm taking for sure is on Thanksgiving Week to Universal Studios Orlando and Walt Disney World.

Sheesh, nobody's posted here for a bit. I hope I'm not breaking any rules.
Anyway, I forgot to mention that my 23rd birthday was last Monday. Last Sunday, we celebrated by going to Tilden Regional Park in Berkeley, where we rode both the Redwood Valley Railway (15" gauge) and the Golden Gate Live Steamers (7 1/2" gauge). We also went to the Little Farm, had some lunch, and did some hiking, before going to Jack London Square in Oakland for dinner. Now, Jack London Square is one of the hottest spots for railfanning, since trains run down the middle of the street. And it's not some seldom-used branchline, either. It's part of a Union Pacific mainline heavily used by Amtrak. The first train we saw was actually a UP yard transfer move, while the rest were Amtraks, either the Capitol Corridor or the San Joaquin. At least one or two were powered by the brand-new Siemens Charger, but the rest were the standard EMD F59PHi, all of which will be retired by next month from California and Cascades service (the F59s assigned to and painted for North Carolina's Piedmont train will stay) and then sent to Chicago's Metra (hopefully they'll get better horns there, though I must say, the F59s' K5LA horns sound better in person than they do on YouTube). Dinner was at a restaurant called Plank, which also has an arcade, bowling, bocce, and a beer garden. I got the pretzel sticks, which are just like the ones they used to have at Chili's and the Alpine Union (formerly Firebreak) restaurant at the Hard Rock Hotel in South Lake Tahoe. The arcade wasn't the best, and I didn't even get anything with the tickets I won (it came down to the fact that the games had some pretty high credit values, higher than Dave & Buster's).
My birthday itself was uneventful. Me and my mom were going to see "Incredibles 2" (still haven't seen it; I do know who the main villain is, and honestly, I kinda knew from the beginning based on this characters' name being a pun), but she was too beat from both the hiking the previous day, and the fact she did summer school this year. We did get a small chocolate cake, though. At midnight on July 9, me and my dad were watching "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World".
Tonight, we celebrated my birthday with the rest of the family in our area (grandparents, aunt, and uncle). We went to Cheesecake Factory, then came home for presents. And they were:
* New clothes, including shirts, shorts, underwear, and socks (I needed new clothes) * $50 for Target * $50 for Kohl's (again, I really need new clothes) * $100 for Steam (still trying to figure out what I want, since I was mainly focused on getting T:ANE and some DLC this past summer sale) * Tickets for the Virginia and Truckee Railroad's long trip (Mound House-Virginia City; officially, Mound House station is either called "Eastgate" or "Carson City", since it's technically within Carson City limits, but I call it Mound House because they haven't extended the railroad through the Carson River Canyon yet); it'll be my first time riding behind V&T #29 since 2001, five years before the reconstruction project began
That ride will happen on August 3, 2018. My, my brother, and my parents will be going to Tahoe from August 1-5, and will also involve taking the gondola up to Heavenly to ride the alpine coaster. Watch for a BNSF1995 Trip Report on either August 5 or 6.
