Me? Summer plans?
Try to get a job Failing that, waste my life away with video games While simultaneously sucking my boyfriend's summer away Oh, and I really, really need to try and get a job - important things are to happen at the end of summer and it would help to have the money!

I have a few things I want to do this summer... seeing as next year will be my last summer off from college before the real work begins.
Well....
-I want to practice on the Bass Trombone and become really good at it. I am marching for the Marching Southerners this coming fall as a Bass (waited 4 years to do so!)
-I want to exercise much more and lose some weight. I am not going to lie, thanks to cokes, I got a little chubby there. I am not doing it for the women, but for myself really.
-I want to plan my 009 layout out to build this upcoming fall. Still debating the TV Series Skarloey Railway or the Railway Series one.... or even just the Talyllyn Railway!
-I want to get a job for the summer, but so far that hasn't happened yet.
-I am going to the beach this weekend. (Yay!) So thats my beach in for the summer.
Summer is usually short for me because of band camp and RA camp, which begins the 2nd of August. I kinda enjoy the hustle and bustle of it all, but I do love seeing family.

I am actually going on a week long vacation with my parents to Yellowstone Park next week. It's pretty exciting, considering that my mother has been bugging us about going there for years, literally. Here's hoping we won't get lost or a flat tire on the way!

*decides to give the thread a good dusting* I'm going to have a pretty interesting summer. I'm having relatives come from New Jersey and Ohio for my sister's graduation, and in August, one of my uncles will be getting married, so I'll be in New York for the wedding! Plus... try to get a job if I've not found one before then!

Not as much a "Summer" getaway, but a Winter getaway for me! I'll be going on a 6 week trek across Australia, specifically Central Australia and the East Coast past Brisbane and Sydney.

Well... got a bit going on for me this Summer:
1. I'm seeing Fozzy again for the fourth time in July. 2. I'm seeing Iron Maiden again for the fifth time in Aug, hopefully with DragonForce as support act. And 3. I'm off to Orlando Florida for the first time since 2004 in Sept, this be my fourth trip to Orlando and I'll be there during the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 (I dread to think what the feeling in America is going to be like when that day comes).
But inbetween all that, I'm hoping to get a job before I go on Holiday but there the way things are going it's becoming very unlikely. Also I'm hoping to see the new POTC Film and a Harrison Ford film also when that comes out: Cowboys and Ailens.
So generally, maybe the same kind of Summer I had last year (except this time last year I would have been on a 6 Month Contract lasting till November).

1. Go on vacation to New Hampshire in late July/early August, 2. Possibly attend an art class, along with the other art class I have, 3. Do housework 4. Lounge around, swim, and otherwise nothing.
Then I start high school. ;-;

I'm going to Oregon, or any place similar to that in the States. I'm also going to this town that nobody knows about in Saskatchewan. I challenge you! It starts with a W, it is close to the town Biggar, (somewhat) close to the main city Saskatoon, and has about 800 people. I'm going there in July for the town's centenial. I'm also going to a curling camp, and I want to spend the summer outdoors. Lastly, I have a sumemr job!

Apart from see Flying Scotsman on display in York when I've got a weekend to spare? Well, I can't really think of anything and besides life in general can be pretty unpredictable so I think I'll leave it at that for now.

I will be teaching elementary in the local Summer Performing Arts (SPA for short) program, as well as hopefully getting a job at the local Best Buy.

Given that I'm 4 years out of college, summer doesn't have the meaning anymore. But, I do have a few tricks up my sleeve for the next couple of months or so:
-Get a new MacBook (mine is almost a decade old) -Get a new iPhone -Quit my job (I'm aiming to make September 1st my last day) -Come September, I'd like to pack my bags and drive from New York to LA over the course of a week and a half
That last one is something I'm especially nervous about, but it's been a dream of mine for a long time to drive coast to coast. Should be fun. I only hope that this summer doesn't get too hot!

Hoping to get more work in my Supporting Artist role before I go away in September, as I've had some setbacks over the last couple of months due to clashes between roles and pre-booked events which haven't helped.
Other than that, hoping to get round to meeting up with a friend who I owe a meet-up too as I couldn't make the last one due to work related clash (in which in the end I wasn't needed for) and just generally writing as ever as well as discovering new music as I often do because obviously I love my music.

I did it! I gave my notice at work, September 1st will be my last day, and September 3rd I'll start driving from New York to Los Angeles on my own! I'm pretty excited and nervous about doing it, as I've never done anything like this on my own before. My goal is to go to Baltimore first to visit a friend for 2 nights, and then I was going to improvise along. Want to visit Nashville to see Graceland, and Atlanta to see the Coca Cola factory tour. And then I wasn't sure. Maybe St. Louis or Kansas City? I'm probably going to stick with the South because the North would take longer, but I don't know how much to plan and how much to leave open. As much as I do love planning things out (not being sarcastic), something is telling me to be a free spirit and just let things happen on this one.
Anyone who did a long road trip before have any advice on going coast to coast?

Summer started with a vacation to Sanibel Island, IMO the most beautiful beach in Florida.
Now that's over and its back to work. In July I'll be going on a road trip to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, Dollywood and then home to western North Carolina. Steam, Rollercoasters, and Mountains.
