Ooooooh... thumbs up for Prower! That's some serious drivin' right there.
As for me, what I drive most often is this rather nice 2005 Volvo XC90 SUV. Out of all that cars I've driven in my life (actually not too many), it's my favorite by far. For one, it feels really comfortable to drive and doesn't feel like rolling down the street holding a heavy, flimsy cardboard box above your head like some cars somehow do. To put it in a certain way, it actually makes driving fun as opposed to a painful, awkward, uncomfortable chore. Trust me, you want that in a car. And it gets pretty good mpg considering it's an SUV. However, it does have occasional transmission problems...
Another car I sometimes drive is an aging 1992 Mercedes E-class. Don't bother with one of these, trust me. While they are kind of luxurious, they're heavy and cumbersome and feel just plain awkward to drive. And pardon the cliche, but the handling is borderline shopping cart. Moreover, the acceleration is almost Sisyphean, meaning it can hardly get going and eagerly stops going. It kinda figures, though, since they're literally one of the heaviest car models ever built. Weren't they the heaviest cars being produced built at the time they were built?
And here's a tip for car buyers: if you have the choice between a Chevrolet Lumina and an Impala, pick the Impala. And my dream car? Either a Rover SD1, an MG MGB, a DeLorean DMC-12, a Merkur, or for some reason a Sterling. Yeah, I have kinda strange taste in cars.

You seem to like obscure British cars (and an American engineered in Britain, the DMC-12.) Which isn't a bad thing...kind of unreliable, but good when they do run!
Not sure you can get an SD1 in the States. Merkur's basically a Sierra, which I've always wanted to have an RS500 Cosworth clone. Or a Mustang SVO with an RS500 engine.
oh, thanks for the thumbs up!

Beetles are good cars. I know a guy who had a diesel bug with manual transmission. It was a great car. He had it for 10 years. Got great gas mileage too. Of course they come in all combinations of gas/diesel/manual/automatic. I'd say go fer it.

Yeah, the Grand Wagoneer is a memorable car. Gotta love faux wood panelling. Now, I don't want to frighten anyone, but I think that I found the car that the Devil would drive. www.phamgiaautocare.com/images/MercedesBenz1930.jpgThe Mercedes-Benz count Trossi SSK. Beautiful and scary at once.

Currently, my parents have a 2003 Ford Explorer, and a 2006 Nissan Altima. Both have their ups and downs. We are thinking in the next few years, or next year for that matter, to get a new SUV. We have been looking at a 2011 Explorer. In fact the SUV we had before ours was a 1999 Explorer! I guess it's the cargo space. We have driven bigger SUVs with less cargo space. The Nissan, eh, I can't say it's my favourite, but definitely not the worst.
As for when I'm older, I wold love a 2008 Ford Taurus. I love the look of it. The only year of it with the white and red lights and chrome grille. It was actually just the Ford Five Hundred renamed for 2008 only. The post-2008 Taurus is actually very nice too. Wouldn't mind one of those.
But, if you know me, I'm very into my vintage cars. I want to get an old run-down 1970-1990 Ford F-100, and fix it up to stock. I would want to redo the flatbed, maybe adding wooden stakes to it. My Great-Uncle is fixing up a '26-'27 Model T. All he needs is a top and it's done! Maybe I will buy it off him.
As for full out dream cars,
1907 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost (claimed to be the worlds most expensive car. It's insurance is $35M, and the car itself is priceless)
1909 Ford Model T Laundalette (Only one known to exist)
1926 Bugatti Type 35/37 (Seen one in person. The ropes were so far away from it!)
1929 Duesenberg of any kind (I've seen one at a museum. What a beautiful creation)
1959 Cadillac Eldorado (Gotta love those fins)
1967 Mustang Fastback (Best Mustang ever made. Even better than the Boss 302)
2008 Rolls-Royce Ghost

Don't know why, but lately I've fallen in love with the fleet-only extended wheelbase Crown Victoria from Ford. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4c/VicExt10.3.02.jpg Something about the rear-wheel drive, the apparent smoothness and power. I can't get it out of my head, and I don't think it's a particularly special car.

I just got my first car. My cousin fixed up an '03 (I think) Kia. It belonged to his wife, but I think I'm like the fourth owner from what she told me. It's in decent shape, about 103k miles on it. I'd be washing it up to photogenic-quality, but it's gonna rain soon (maybe just scrub it with a soapy wet sponge and let nature handle the rest!) No joyriding (yet). Just got my license, but need to register it, insure it, and get an inspection sticker, plus take it down to the mechanic for a few small fixes. But in a week, hopefully. Anyone seen plans for VW's revived Microbus?

I really love the Bugatti Veyron sicne it can reach up to 264 MPH. that is like everyone's dream car there, though i wish they would continue making it instead of discontinuing it. oh well, at least they are coming out with a 4-door version of it, that i want to see

Id love to have Delorean DMC-12....to bad I can't drive a stick shift... Don't we all! Did you know you can still buy them new-ish? You just send in a frame from an original one to the factory in Texas, and they can assemble a brand new one from NOS from the 80's. That is if one can afford it. It's about 30K! I for one want to know how to drive a standard. Many vintage cars have it

Have any of you heard of the Paxton Phoenix, by any chance? It's a prototype for a steam car made bak in the 1950s or so. The NY Times ran an article about it 2 weeks ago or so, and I must say, it's really sad that only one was ever made and, ironically, it never even got it's steam engine in. It's a beautiful design, and a crying shame that it never made it off the ground.

Well, I wouldn't say too ironic. It was only an alternative. But still is very interesting. According to Wikipedia, it (the steam engine) was based off off designs by Abenr Doble. Doble had built the best steam car ever made, well, the Doble! Extremely complex and sophisticated machine, and extremely rare. Though the best one ever made, I'd prefer to get my hands on a pre-1915 Stanley Steamer. A local museum has one. Probably won't be running for quite a few years, though.

Changing the topic, but would anyone on here happen to own or have ridden in a Jaguar XK120 or XKE? Those are some sportscars I'd love to own (if I could afford them, that is ) XK120E-Type/XKE

I really want a 1960s VW Beetle, ragtop with American-style bumpers. here's a yellow one at a local car dealer!
I want to turn it into this: (0\(53)/0)
I'm too young to drive, but I can learn next year!

Has anyone heard of an American car called Packard? Quite an interesting vehicle. Considered to be on top of the luxury car market, and one of the three P's; Packard, Peerless, and Pierce-Arrow. Even in it's early years, Packard was considered a better buy than Cadillac, one of the most storied American brands. Although Packard never made it, it did survive the Great Depression, an outlived the other two. I'm quite fond of them. I love the 55 and 56 facelifts - I think it's one of the most attractive cars of the 1950s!

Packards were great cars. I never knew they were considered on the same level as Pierce-Arrow, which is another great classic car. The 55 is also such a classic 50s looker, I just love it!
