I've got a minor case of Asperger's Syndrome. This may be the reason why I have musical talent and definitely the reason why I still love Thomas.

Hm, that is odd... I've got what one might call a "formal vocabulary" when discussing certain things... I love computers, and trains (if I didn't I wouldn't be here, obviously!). Perhaps I have some sort of minor Aspergers too...

I may have a minor, minor case. I like trains, and computers are alright (if they do what I want them to). I hate math, don't care about astrology or dinosaurs, but geography was my easiest subject in school. I have a good voacb, but use in writing.

Undiagnosed; right now after an intense Google-fu match on this subject, I suspect myself tobe as such. I could grab a full identification sheet and write my claims/examples beneath each part.
Also, I was born and diagnosed as "autistic" before the midway, ie, Aspergers had been discovered. My parents went up the wall and had - no, forced a specialist to pass me otherwise. It makes a lot of sense as to why and what though.

As far as I know, I have it. I have most, if not all, of the symptoms.
Doctors are supposed to diagnose and confirm weither I have it or not at the end of the month.

As far as I know, I don't have it. However, there are things such as my interest in Thomas, trains, and other things that could indicate and intense interest. Not only that, I worry a lot about things as well - money, Uni, exams etc. which is also said to be a symptom. One thing though, its said that Aspergers sufferers have difficulty reading other people, and that's one thing I've never had a problem with.
I wouldn't worry too much about that thing Eliot, self-diagnosis over the internet is never a good thing. You don't know the full facts of what else to look for, and it's normal to have high interests in things. Be unhealthy if you didn't!

Well, after doing an online search, I certainly fit the bill. But according to my mother AND my doctor, I don't have it, and if I do, then it's incredibly mild.
Some people, however, have mentioned to me that they think I may have Asperger's, but when the professionals have told me that I haven't, there's really nothing to worry about.

My parents told me that I was diagnosed with Autisum when I was 4 years old, then at the age of 5 I was then diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. I was told this when I was 16 years old just after I left school as my parents thought it was the right time to explain what Aspergers is. In many ways I'm glad they told me later as I went through a load of bullying during my time in Comprehensive School.
As a child I had a huge obession of Thomas The Tank Engine & Friends, almost everything I had was of Thomas The Tank Engine, I even had a Thomas bed & most of my toys were of the eninges.
Nower days I'm not as obessed with Thomas & Friends compaired to when I was a child. If I'm obessed of anything these days it's Final Fantasy as that is what I collect more than anything these days. For a short while I did get obessed with Yu-Gi-Oh! but died down sooner than anything, that was about 2 years ago.

I have AS. It's been quite a blow to my life having it. Because people have singled me out at school and even college for thinking that I should be put in a home, or something. Still all my mates know that I have it (some even have it themselves) and they're very understanding.
I suppose it really explains why I'm still interested in Thomas.

I have a mild case of Aspergers Syndrome myself. I have an abnormally high interest in trains and Thomas (obviously) and I have quite an interest in dinosaurs. But my case is nothing to worry about.

Yep, I also have Asperger's Syndrome, and I only found out after I left school, despite being born with it. My parents suggest that it might be the main reason why I'm still interested in Thomas, but no one outside my family (with the exception of you guys) know that I have it.

I have it too. I just wish I had never did, because like XE up there, I have been treated like a Percy-influenced child through-out my life. AND PEOPLE WONDER WHY I'M SO MISERABLE?! It's so damn humilating. I often think of what I'd be like if I had never had Autism and how good it'll be if they had a cure for it. This is Auttie in my veiw. It's a number-one turn-off for girls, it's a perfect reason for bullies to hassle you and if you even have the slightest symptom, you'll NEVER survive out there. Look at me, I'm doing so badly in my school work nowadays that a German hobo could do better (that, and I have been BANNED from drawing until I get better).

OK it's time for me to come out. I have it too. I sympathize with the points Dragonfox has made. Secondary school was hell for me as I was bullied alot becasue of it. Also I was always treated like a five year old by my support teachers and they would always treat me like one too. Aspergers was a label at my school.
Once I left school, it got alot better. I haven't told much people that I have Aspergers as it's my biggest secret and those I have told did not laugh or pick on me.
It's a shame not much people know what it is. I had to fight to get a normal life and it wasn't easy. I achieved most of it when I was out of school. People should learn to understand people with Aspergers can live a normal life.

My little sister's autistic and it hasn't been easy for anyone in my family.
I've always kind of suspected that I had a form of autism. I've always felt that I've been kind of an oddball (the way I act, talk)
My young childhood had been incredibly miserable. I suffered from Social Anxiety until I was in seventh grade. It made it very difficult for me to interact with people and I didn't have many friends. Sometimes I felt that I never did have any friends and that people were just pretending to be my friend because I was so wierd.
I trust my friends more now and I'm happier. Whether I'm mildly autistic or not I've started to accept who I am. I am wierd, I'm obsessed with Thomas the tank engine, and I can't play baseball for my life. But I'm proud of who I've become and how I've recovered. The social anxiety has nearly gone away and I'm even very active at the drama program at my school.
Dragonfox, I can only hope that you learn to love the way you are. It took a lot of time for me, but I stuck it out.
Skarloey, I've always lived in fear that I was autistic, and whether I am or not, I can accept myself. Don't let it get you down.

I've always lived in fear that I was autistic, and whether I am or not, I can accept myself. Don't let it get you down. I couldn't agree more. I am autistic too and i know only too well the trouble it can cause along with the pain, suffering, anxiety and confusion that it bestows on anyone who has been unfortunate enough to have to suffer it. But the thing is, if i was given the choice of being able to go back and start afresh without it, i don't think i would. If i did, then I wouldn't have had to fight with it throughout my life, I would be arrogant, dismissive of needs and also weaker willed. It has shaped the person I am today. I can't say that I'm perfect, but i like who i have become, and becoming. All i can say to those who struggle with this problem is that you can't let it beat you. I was exceedingly lucky to have people around me who weren't willing to give up even if I was. So if you are feeling low and defeated, i urge you to find the strength from somewhere, as it CAN be mastered! And, in my opinion, its nothing to be ashamed of. Some of the worlds greatest minds were thought to be aspergic remember!

Well, I don't think I have it. The only SYMPTOMS that I can see myself having is an intensified interest in trains and computers, and I'm a whiz at math.
