Hey guys, Does anyone remember the 90's Nicktoon 'Rugrats' with the adventures of Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Kimi, Angelica and Susie. Babies always going on adventures. And along with that is the 2003 spin off series 'All Grown Up!' here are the videos to refresh your memories: Rugrats 1991 - 2003:All Grown Up! 2004 - 2008:They even had three movies, The Rugrats Movie, Rugrats In Paris and the first Nickelodeon cross-over, Rugrats Go Wild with 'The Wild Thornberrys' TMRReturns

As a youngster, this was the only Nicktoon I really enjoyed; perhaps due to associating with these toddlers, their curiosity to experience their world etc. I think it was at its peak before they brought it back; maybe as a result of me growing up, but it just seemed to be dumbed down a bit more around that point. With the earlier ones, I can go back now and laugh at jokes I've forgotten about or didn't understand as a kid, particularly some of the banter between the adults. But I don't find that so much with the 1997- episodes (and never really seen much of AGO). I finally gave up around the point Kimi came into the show; never found her that appealing, more of a token Asian character. Either way, the first few seasons are classic, and I wouldn't mind a DVD release of a few complete seasons; don't understand why these classics can't be released and the likes of Spongebob can. I'm not Stu! Muhahahahaha

D@mn, OSW beat to me to the use of that scene! Anyway, I used to watch it all time when I was young, but as I grew older, I liked it less and less before developing an animosity towards it. Most likely because it jumped the shark after the movie, introducing a baby who actually acted like a baby, killing the whole point of the series. Plus, there were less stories focused on the adults, and the writing became more juvenile. Alas, most shows seem to get worse as time goes on anyway. Don't even get me started on that "All Grown Up" tripe though, that kills the purpose of the original series as well, making it ANOTHER preteen school show. Despite everything though, it was a rather enjoyable show when I was a young lad. Though I always hated Chuckie. I think it was because he really needed to metaphorically "man up". Oh yeah..... I'M NOT TOMMY! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I have some Rugrats DVDs and even some old video tapes the DVDs are usually the newer ones but there are some old ones on it. They are now RARE to get now. And I even have some 'All Grown Up!' DVDs too. I remember when Kimi came into the group I was so excited because well she was fun and she's a relation to Tommy's personality. Heck I think they make a very good paring. All Grown Up was fine and it has it moments. but it will never beat the babies. Oh yeah and Dil was more annoying in AGU! He's like Kevin in HOTR. TMRReturns

I used to watch Rugrats alot as it was on TV alot while I was younger. Didn't watch All Grown up much. My face character had to be Angelica as she was a very god antagonist plus her intereaction with Susie was good as well. She was a good foil to her.
I found Kimi to be annoying though. Show wasn't the same when she came.

I am a fan of all the classic nicktoon, grew up with them including Rugrats which was one of the earliest and longest lived. I like the real old school episodes best. The ones with the red episode titles prior to Rugrats the movie. All Grown Up I never really watched. Chuckie FTW!

I remember watching both "Rugrats" and "All Grown Up." I think I liked Chuckie because he had glasses, too. I think I still have my copies of the first two movies, and it was always interesting how the babies would interpret things, like a minivan being a submarine or Chuckie's dad's sweater being a monster under the bed.

Out of all the episodes of the Rugrats I think my most favourite would have to be Toy Palace were Tommy and Chuckie got trapped by mistake and have to run away from this guy named Throng and in the end they were saved by their hero Reptar! TMRReturns

Ah, yes. The Rugrats. I choose the Rugrats.
I remember watching a lot of episodes back in the late 90s and early 2000s. They were really good episodes. And funny.
One of the episodes I remember was when the babies destroyed an aquarium because they thought the 'ship' was sinking. It was funny. I also remember the one with the "teenaged cynthia". It had a hilarious ending.
Now, I rarely watch the rugrats nowadays, and I only have 2 VHS, but I still remember it and I watch it every now and then. Despite it's odd animation. Ah, well.

All the episodes are on YT by this guy here: www.youtube.com/user/rugratsfrankie2NOTE: Some episodes are upside down due to Youtube's copyright infringement. I even got some videos my sister bought for me at a video shop. But I remember getting Discovering America & Runaway Reptar TMRReturns

I used to love Rugrats. I remember that I used to have 2 episodes on video - my favourite one was when Grandpa's teeth went missing. The first movie was okay. I barely remember it, though. I didn't mind Dil, but I never liked Kimi that much (odd, because I prefer the second movie). I honestly found Susie to be more annoying. I absolutely loved 'All Growed Up' - it was interesting to see what they'd be like as teens. But when the spin-off came into being, I really didn't like it. The appeal of Rugrats was that we were seeing things from a baby's perspective - All Grown Up took that from us, and made it a bit more generic. I need to start watching the older episodes again. They were great. Oh, and because nobody's posted it yet... I've lost control of my life.

The one where Angelica fake a fractured leg thinks to a medical mix-up. I love that one. My three favorite episodes would probably be the ones where Chucky gets potty trained, Reptar on Ice, and the 'Santa Experience' Christmas Special. =)

Hey, I remember that episode, too. I actually thought Angelica really did get a broken leg. It was one of the best episodes ever.

Rugrats was the first cartoon I watched on Nickelodeon and also my favourite. Chuckie was my favourite character at the time probably due to his glasses but I loved it when he got the upper hand from Angelica in certain episodes; and one of my fave episodes was the one where Chuckie wanted to run away and his guardian angel reveals how the other Rugrats become without him.
One highlight from the show I remember that everyone else had missed out was that most of the older episodes would begin with an overzealous close up, e.g. zooming away from a volcano that turns into a zit on the face of Susie's sister.

I loved this show so much as a child! It was one of my top favorites. I even look back on it to this day and recall my favorite episodes. I loved the first movie, and the second one as well, but I didn't like it as much when Kimi came into the series. And as far as the special "All Growed Up", that was cool, but I hated the actual spinoff show.
I always liked Phil and Lil best as a child, but since I can't pick them both I picked Tommy as my favorite. I liked Chuckie too. It's funny how I hated Angelica as a child, but have grown to like her as an adult, as I find her the perfect antagonist.
And of course, I can't get enough of the YouTube Poops with Stu making chocolate pudding at 4am. XD

Anyone heard that All Grown up was chosen over a Hey Arnold spin off with Helga and her family?

I've read about 'The Patakis' on various websites and always wondered if it were true. I can see why it was rejected. I liked Hey Arnold but that spin off sounds just a little boring.

The spin off wasn't even going to feature Arnold. I can see why as he would have overshadowed Helga.
Metamorphical have you heard about the jungle movie? That was going to finish Hey Arnold. It was a shame it never happened as it sounds like a better film that the one released which to be fair sounds like an extended episode.

I've never been a big fan of Helga to be honest, so mabe that's why a show about her and her family seems so boring.
I've never heard of the Jungle Movie, that does sound better than the movie and better than Rugrats Gone Wild or whatever.
