What about Dewgong instead of Articuno, Assassin? That's got the ice characteristics of Articuno.

Okay, we just need one more, as we have: Venusaur Charizard Blastoise Pikachu Nidoking ?? I'm looking for one who was a famous Pokemon back in the Gen. 1days. Nidoking is great, because everyone seems to remember him. Dewgong is a good suggestion Stuart, but with out Rain Dance, it's not that viable, plus he wasn't that well known in Gen 1.

Thanks Top Hat. I'm gonna go with Persian, since Meowth was pretty well known. Thanks for all the suggestions guys. It'll be ready pretty soon, so once again, if you have Wi-fi and want to battle, PM me your friend code.

You want to know something worse? There are five runners on Platinum, which means you'll need five masterballs, something that can trap, or a whole lot of patience.

Heh. That's one of the reasons I always use Crobat.
Super speed + Mean Look + Hypnosis = Runner capture.

Having Scyther makes it easier, False Swipe at a high level works wonders.

I must admit I've definitely strayed away from pokemon over the years. After Ruby & Sapphire the appeal just went away, the games didnt have that same charm the first two generations had. However, I just picked up a used copy of Pokemon FireRed...and I'm kicking myself for not getting it sooner. Amazing remake of the games that started it all. I just arrived in Celadon, and so far my line-up is... -Charmeleon -Pikachu -Graveler (Soon to be Golem) -Nidorino (waiting till it gets to level 50something when it can learn Horn Drill THEN evolve it into Nido-flippin-king ) -Gloom (Soon to be Vileplume) -Pigeotto (Soon to be Pigeot) By the end of the game I want my line-up to include Snorlax possibly, an Umbreon as an Eevee evolution (although idk how to achieve that since there's no nighttime in the game, something that irks me about that game as well as Ruby/Sapphire), and maybe Zapdos as a legendary.

There is day and night in R/S/E, it's just not shown graphically. Night and day really didn't get useful until generation 4 actually.

That, and the fact that most useful Pokemon don't disappear from the entire route during a certain time.
Did anyone else feel like the second generation gave us a lot of weak Pokemon? Tell me it's not just me.

Yes, I know it gave us some great ones too, most of them are top class. It also gave us well...underpowered Pokemon like Unown.

I just got back to playing the Gen I games on Visual Boy (a gameboy emulator), and I've beaten Blue, Red and Yellow (the former two with the aid of the rare candy cheat-ain't I a stinker?). It's too bad the link emulator doesn't work for OS X, otherwise I'd just trade like mad until I completed the Pokedex on all three! So far I have 124 in Red, 85 in Blue, and 45 in Yellow. I even managed to find a ROM of the Japanese Green, so I'm going to try and deal with the terribly funny translation and beat that too.

And Sunkern,it has lower stats then magikarp,i think. Although it's more useful than Magikarp since it already knows Absorb when you capture it meaning it would be able to heal itself where as Magikarp can't even deal any form of damage at all until it learns Tackle at Level 15 and Flail at Level 30 providing you don't let it evolve at Level 20 into a Gyarados. Sunkern does learn some decent moves while in that form like Mega Drain at level 10, Sunny Day at level 19, Sythesis at level 31 and Giga Drain at level 46, although theres quite a gap between moves you can see Sunkern does prove even more useful and easy enough to raise if battling Rock, Ground or Water type Pokémon. The only downside to Sunkern is probaly the fact you need a Sun Stone in order for it to evolve into Sunflora where as Magikarp can evolve without the need of a stone. Magikarp get's Bounce by the way, so will it be able to beat Sunkern? Maybe. Tristan I hope you'll be careful, you know what Generation I is notorious for.

Gen I is actally my favorite. The best Pokemon, the best music, and the best glitches. My only qualm is the overpowered psychics. Still though, nothing beats Gen I. I actually would llike a copy of Red or Blue, because I don't want to restart my completed Pokedex Yellow (Including legit Mew).
