I cannot beleive this...NO Zelda thread till now...
The Legend of Zelda franchise! Chronologically confused but every game filled with dungeons, swords, tunics and non talkative/grunting boys!
These games have changed the gaming world for Nintendo and it has put Miyamoto on the golden pillar of invincibility. Orcarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess are my top 4 favourites, but all of them have a place on my tops game list.
Discuss!

I've only really played Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Twilight Princess. I absolutely loved Ocarina of Time, but for some reason I just couldn't get into Majora's Mask. I have Twilight Princess, but by the time I made it to the second dungeon, Smash Bros. Brawl came out, and I haven't played since.

Keep going shanedooiney....keep going. Lol.
Anyway yeah Zelda's pretty good. I beat Twilight Princess, ad now I'm working on OoT and the original NES game on my Wii's VC. NES is hard =\.
EDIT: I also beat Wind Waker. Very good Zelda game despite what some say. And I am also working on beating Phantom Hourglass. Idk how I forgot those lol.

I've fully beaten Zelda 1, Link to the Past and OoT on my VC but Zelda II is hard, REALLY hard. But also fun.

Let' see...
Completed without dying once:
Zelda 1 (Pretty much know it by heart now XD) A Link to the Past Link's Awakining Both Oracle games (Linked and not)
Beaten, but have died:
Ocarina of Time (Working on it without dying) Zelda II (Love this one)
Want to play:
Wind Waker (Have it, but the amount of sailing you have to do turns me off of it) Twilight Princess (Looks fun)
As you can tell, I'm quite a perfectionist.
Oh, and can anyone name the one time Link talks?

...I've completed every Zelda game. At least twice. I am... I Zelda fan. Um... does anyone have any timeline theories for me to disect? Ohhhh boy, do I ever. AHEM Me and my 2 best buddies are hardcore Zelda fans so one weekend we took all the games and did timeline that us 3 are developing into are own manga (nerdy eh? ). So lets start! - Link's parents give birth to link (source: OoT Pre-Comic) - Link's parents die during a raid on Hyrule Castle (Same source) - Kapora Gabora (The owl) is shown keeping watch over link and his folks - Link's father is killed, his mother dies in front of the deku tree, where he promises too look after Link (this is all in the Oot Pre-Comic published in one of the foreign nintendo mags) NOW, the games (Note: the CDI crap isn't included) In order of timeline: - Minnish Cap (Takes place before everything, no mention of Ganon) - Ocarina of Time (Link discovers destiny, kills Ganon) - Majora's Mask (Takes place 7 months after OOT as stated in the game manual) - A Link to the Past (Zelda and Link know one another, Link apparantley familiar with Ganon, etc) - Link's Awakening (confirm end as a sequel to LTTP) - Legend of Zelda 1 (Link returns to hyrule with no items) - Legend of Zelda 2 (Direct sequel to first game) - The Oracle Games (Link sets off to Labyrnna and Holodrum, fights Ganon) SKIP ahead 40-50 Years - Twilight Princess (Photo of the OOT Fisherman and (OOT Link being Hero's Spirit) This is the next Link in the chain (HAHAHA, Puns). Skip ahead ANOTHER 50-60 Years - Wind Waker (Takes place 100 years after OoT, as stated in guides, etc. Stained glass pictures of the Six Sages also present) - Phantom Hourglass (Direct sequel to WW) AND that ladies and germs, is my speculated timeline.

I dont' think there's a bad one in the series. You can't go wrong with LOZ.

I reckon I've enjoyed pretty much every one, more or less, but I'd have to say Four Sword's is a little annoying. Or maybe it's just my friends are terrible at playing...
I connected two FS games and played by myself. THAT was annoying.
=O
I usually get a die count of around 50 when I play Zelda 1...
Btw, if you're going for a perfect Ocarina game, it's not too hard if you collect a fair bit early on. I can't remember exactly what you can or can't do at what point... but I'm pretty certain you can get a bottle from Talon just after you see Zelda for the first time. By the time you get to Jabu-Jabu's Belly, you'll also have a second bottle (the one with Ruto's letter!) and I think you might be able to get a third as well. (But I can't remember where!) You can also get a couple of heart pieces before you get to Jabu-Jabu's belly.
So, just catch/buy a few fairies! (They aren't that hard to find, and if they are, it's not like you won't max out your money on a regular basis.) As long as you find a few extra heart containers, this should keep you alive fairly well. And, if you 100% the game, the hardest parts end up being the first two dungeons. (Which are still kind of difficult, but... y'know.)

I found it easy to get no kills and 100% for both N64 Titles, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. Though in Majora's Mask the fairy finding stuff was annoying.

I've played "A Link to the Past" and one of the Nintendo 64 Zelda games. I was never able to beat the former, probably because I played the game at a pretty young age or maybe because I kept getting defeated easily.

Well, Nintendo today announced a new Zelda title for the DS, called "Spirit Tracks". It's a possible follow-up to PH. Here's the trailer. Oh, and I'm sure everyone here will love Link's new mode of transportation

Does anyone own Ocarina of Time 3DS?
If so, what is it like? Considering that I already own 3 copies of it (the original N64 cart, the free copy that came with Windwaker, and the version included with the GC Zelda Collector's disc), is there enough of a difference here to warrant a fourth purchase?
All I've noticed so far is a lot of cosmetic changes. The only just reason I can think of buying it so far is that it;s a good game, and I only own 2 other 3DS titles so far.

I'm considering OoT3D... though I've only really played Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks Really, really enjoyed Phantom Hourglass. I've played a bit of Twilight Princess, and I have OoT on Virtual Console. ~Elizabeth

I want to buy OoT3D, but I'm going to wait for it to come down in price first.

Since I've been bitten by the Majora's Mask bug lately, I figured I'd revive this thread. It's pretty short compared to OoT, but just as epic as ever. Not to mention, including the masks, this is the biggest inventory of items ever seen in a Zelda game. The side quests are pretty fun too. I loved one with Anju and Kafei; looking for a missing person, following leads, finding clues; made you think like a detective. Also one of the possible rewards for protecting Cremia's wagon- <youtube>cGyHJqrXcSo</youtube> BTW any thoughts on the official time line- cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2011/12/29631a766f1537530abc0ec5e6d15515.jpgI find it interesting that Link To The Past, Link's Awakening and the original NES games occur in a "What if Ganon won?" time line. Though it does bring up an interesting concept- perhaps a future Zelda title where you play as Ganondorf.
