Here you can discuss places owned by the National Trust (NT) that you've visited. The latest NT-owned house I've been to is Canons Ashby House near Daventry in Northamptonshire. There was one bedroom which surprised me there as a piece of fabric called "Woolly Bear" (no, not a green caterpillar with red stripes! ), which would get ruined by moths if not protected by glass.

I must admit I'm deeply fascinated by the National Trust as well - and, in my humble opinion at least, with good reason.
This is a national organisation that, in terms of buildings and the gardens associated with them, has managed to keep the independant spirit and unique nature of the British Nation alive in a truly heroic way that few other charities could do (apart from the heritage railways of course!).
As Churchill kept us going through the war, so the NT ensures the semi-permanent survival of our heritage.
And of course there's many such places I've been to, some of which asre listed as follows:
Knightshayes Court, Devon Stowe House, Buckinghamshire Waddesdon Manor, Buckinghamshire Boscastle, Cornwall St. Michael's Mount, Cornwall
And here's a few others I've heard of but have yet to see in person:
Lyme Park, Cheshire Tintagel Post Office, Cornwall Longshaw Estate, Derbyshire
But there's one NT house that I'll admit to loving the most:
LANHYDROCK HOUSE, BODMIN, CORNWALL
Perhaps it's just my affection for Cornwall and many other reasons too numerous to list here but...I find...that with Lanhydrock...the history seems somewhat deeper, more fascinating and so much more endearing and heartwarming.
But don't get me wrong: the others are equally fantastic, especially Powis Castle.
Anyone else been anywhere?
Warm Regards, MRHloco

I have never been to the UK, but if I were to go anywhere in the National Trust, I'd love to see Henrhyd Falls and Osterley Park because of their roles in the Dark Knight trilogy.
