Saw lordviruscide post something about wanting a Wargaming threaver and I am a wargamer so here it is! Discuss Warhammer, 40K, whatever miniatures game you play!
I have way to many armies in 40k and Battlefleet Gothic. Tau or Chaos Space Marines. I also play Star Wars Minis every so often.
Well, discuss!

I play a NZ game called Flames of wars
I did a German Tiger company and currently I'm doing a British Armoured Squadron
Also did a space marine army that's not really worth talking about

I used to play 40K. Necrons, Tyranids, Daemonhunters, and Chaos Marines. I also used to play Lord of the Rings, but I didn't really get into it.

I just stared with Necrons. Brutal armies if done right, the C'tan are musts for any Necron force.

Here's an interesting question: would you guys consider Risk a tabletop wargame? I was about to post saying that I've played that a few times (though it's been years since I have), but I googled it to double-check if it really is a wargame. I was surprised to read on Wikipedia that a game that's all about conquering the world, is considered by many to not be a wargame! What do you think?

Risk is a bit of a gray area I'd say. It's definitely a game of strategy and war, and you'll most likely play it on a tabletop, but I've always thought of it more as a board game than anything else. That's just what I think though.
I never got into wargaming properly when I was a kid. Mainly because I was obsessed with Thomas. I was gifted a load of my mate's old Ultramarines when I was in school, which I promptly tried to convert into Blood Angels with rather underwhelming results. I've picked up a few 40k video games over the years (DOW, Space Marine) but it's only in the last year or so I've properly gotten into it. I read a few Horus Heresy books and that was me praising the Emperor in no time. I'm more into the 40k lore than the game, but I can appreciate a decent match.
The annoying thing is that I gave all my Blood-Ultra-Angel-Smurf-Marines away to one of my friends at the start of last year, so I'm gonna have to buy more models if I want to get back into it. I bought a Space Marine paint set last month just to practice, so I'll see how I get on with that,
