This thread is all about one of the fastest Heavy Metal Bands in the World, DragonForce. I've been into this band for 2 years now and I think they're f**king awesome, they play really fast and are just brilliant and what they do. I've never heard a Metal Band play so fast and have some many Solos in one song and flipping hell so fast. If you like them, feel free to discuss about what you like about them and feel free to discuss your favourite songs by this band. Here's a few Music Videos by DragonForce, if you don't know them feel free to watch their music videos and you'll see how fast and awesome they are: Through the Fire and Flames: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=0jgrCKhxE1sOperation Ground and Pound: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QpAP5RcYicEHeroes of Our Time (New Video and Song): uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_GsQqFMDX7QDragonForce have a new album coming out in August called Ultra Beatdown.

Yeah, the guitar parts are just...what's the word...insane? No idea how someone can play that fast without breaking their wrist or anything else. It's truly amazing.
But outside of the guitar madness, I don't see anything overly amazing about them. I have two of their songs already, the lyrics aren't really all that catchy. Maybe it's just not my taste, I dunno...

Yeah, DragonForce's lyrics are kinda cheesy. But that's okay. I freaking love Revolution DeathSquad.

Ronnie, those are all good points, but you're forgetting one thing: People make Dragonforce songs on Mario Paint I've only listened to a few songs on the recommendations of a few friends. They're not too bad, but the style of music as a whole isn't really my thing. Through the Fire and the Flames is probably my favourite, but there's plenty other bands out there I'd rather listen to.

I admit DragonForce are probably one of the amazing bands currently due to the speed they play at. Yeah, its not a band I could listen too everyday but admit, how many people have been fustrated by that song on Guitar Hero? Now, this is a question I'd like to ask. How big would people rate DF? Now most of my friends are into more heavier rock stuffs (I'm more Oasis kinda sound) and I was talking to some of them last night. It turns out the said band are doing a gig in the Cardiff University Students Union. Now, just to give some backround detail on it, the Union is pretty big and bands like Kasier Chiefs, The Manic Street Preachers and (only just found this out recently) Motorhead. This news suprised me cos I thought the band could've easily played in the Cardiff International Arena (cap. bout 7,500) to a good crowd. My mates then turn around and tell me that DF isn't as big as I think it is and is in fact rubbish live, hence why they wouldn't draw big crowds. So, for those who know more about DF and the style of music than me, can DragonForce really be considered a 'big' in the sense of popularity?

I've been thinking that myself JimBob.
I'm not a Dragonforce person myself, but one of mates loves them. And he says that the only reason why they sound fast on record is because the use ALOT of computer wizardry to make them sound as if they are playing at the speed of light. And because of this, they can't re-create that speed when they perform live.
To put it simply, I don't think they have much in terms of stage presence. And that's a big killer for a live event.

I like Dragonforce quite abit, but their solos are so long that I feel the urge to fast forward to when the lyrics come back in. Still better than the factory-produced pop crap we get nowdays.

Man, Dragonforce.
I've been to 3 of their concerts and they always get me. I've got all their albums, they are AMAZING! Herman Lee is nuts in person, on the guitar he is a beast.

He is quite talented. It's not my style of music, but it's damn impressive how well they play their instruments. It certainly makes me feel like quitting guitar.

I know this may seem like old DragonForce news, but for those that don't know I'll just say it anyway.
In March 2010, ZP Theart (DragonForce lead Vocals for over 10 years) left the band and since then the band auditioned for a new singers (and from checking out a few auditions, some were pretty good). Back in March of 2011, a new Singer was revealed to be Marc Hudson.
Here's a sample of the new Singer (sounds pretty dam good, certainly true Power Metal - not dis to ZP though):
EDIT:
DragonForce are really good live, I think perhaps they've improved on live performances from sample vids seem on youtube. The new singer is pretty good too, despite some of the grief some fans are giving after only two official shows he's had with DragonForce.
I can't wait for their new album, and perhaps seeing them headlining their own show.

DragonForce are amazing. One of the greatest modern bands around. "Through The Fire And The Flames" and "Fury Of The Storm" are amazing songs

Not DragonForce related, but if any fan of DragonForce is ever looking for anything that has that DragonForce vide or overall sound then I highly recommend Victorius:
Just swap Dragons for Dinosaurs when it comes to Victorius:

DragonForce's stuff up to Inhuman Rampage has a lot of nostalgia for me, or if ever I'm in a Power Metal mood I''ll put on their stuff. Speaking of their earlier music. I really like the DragonHeart version of this over the final DragonForce version.
