Really a top band. Influencial. Best songs include "Waterfall", "10 Storey Love Song", and "I want to be adored" to name a few.
So anyone else heard them?

Yeah I quite like The Stone Roses, especially 'What the World is Waiting for', 'Made of Stone', and 'Tell Me'. They knew how to mix 60's jangle with more modern influences to good effect. They weren't bad at all lyrically either, which is really why I like them as much as I do. Other Madchester acts (few people probably remember that genre) were too tuneless, muzaky or dance-influenced and had crap lyrics even when they tried to be thoughtful. Definitely some of the best stuff to come out of the late 80's. John Squire's guitar work is impressive.

Well, must admit I've found myself getting more and more into the Roses this past year. Reni is a flat out amazing drummer, and John Squire is maybe one of the most underrated guitarists of the past 20 years. Ian Brown.....well..he sings good on the records...and that's all I'll say about the man.
What's interesting is getting to hear some of their early stuff and their demos. The early stuff sounds nothing like their later stuff at all, it's WAY more punk sounding. Their demos also provide an interesting glimpse into what they later did on their debut album.
