Can't recall who mentioned the new He-Man series in the Shoutbox a few months ago I'm afraid but have just seen both halves. It's um different! The animation is closer to the 2002 series while the voice casting in this 'continuation' doesn't try to emulate the Filmation one either. Didn't mind that personally, though it's impossible not to hear Mark Hamill's Joker and Lena Headey's Cersei in their respective roles as Skeletor and Evil Lyn.
Can't say I'm sorry I saw it nor that I wouldn't watch a follow up but it's also a hot mess. Personally would of traded for a 3rd season of the 2002 series as it had a better flow in terms of plot and characterisation, though a lot of the acton was pretty slick. Fear I can't say anything positive without also being negative but that's the crux of Ted Biaselli & Kevin Smith's project Without trying to drop any spoilers the introspection, speeches and shifting motivation of some characters jams the story up a few times too many, but there's also a fair bit of good fan service.
Argh feel like I can only ramble but can understand why it won't be a lot of people's cup of tea for quite a few reasons such as the mild gore, too much 'girl power/Teela & Lyn focus and how the laws of physics are pretty flimsy (and yes I can remember all the ridiculous plot lazy feats He-man and She-ra accomplished in the glorious 80s).
Anyone else seen it or wish to share their thoughts on the previous runs?
