(Note: these won't make sense for most episodes because all the engines would be going backwards)
If you watch Thomas and Gordon backwards... it's about Thomas sneaking out of the sheds because he wants to explore the world, but he only manages to get as far as Wellsworth before he runs out of water and becomes exhausted. Fortunately, Gordon is there with the express, and so he is able to push Thomas back to Knapford (albeit backwards, as he is too big to fit on the Wellsworth turntable).
If you watch Thomas, Terence, and the Snow backwards... it's about an evil tractor named Terence who stuffs Thomas into a snowdrift, and Thomas repays the favor by making fun of Terence's caterpillar tracks every day.
If you watch Thomas in Trouble one day... it's about Toby deciding to run away from Sodor for no reason, forcing Thomas to do his work at the quarry until an overscrupulous policeman tells him off for not wearing cowcatchers.
If you watch The Diseasel backwards... it's about Bill, Ben, and Edward randomly forgetting who BoCo is one day, making BoCo so upset that he steals Bill and Ben's trucks.
If you watch Escape backwards... it's about some evil workmen who scrape Oliver's paint off in the middle of the night for no reason. All the other engines hate the way Oliver looks so much, that they hire Douglas to kidnap him and dump him in the middle of the scrapyard at night to get him out of their shed. It works, considering that Oliver is never seen again.
If you watch Sleeping Beauty backwards... it's about a bunch of hooligans who kidnap Duke after Peter Sam and Sir Handel tuck him into bed, and lock him up in an abandoned, overgrown shed for decades.
If you watch Toad Stands By backwards... it's about a truck named S.C. Ruffey who is in the process of being ripped up by workmen, and Oliver feels sorry for him, so he puts him back together by putting a bunch of trucks with their brakes on behind him, and then pushing really hard from the front. It works, but Oliver regrets it because S.C Ruffey turns out to be a really nasty truck who gets all the other trucks to sing offensive songs about him.
If you watch Stepney Gets Lost backwards... it's about the Fat Controller suddenly turning evil one day and trying to scrap Stepney. He ALMOST succeeds, but he makes the grabber go up instead of down, whereupon two friendly diesels seize the opportunity to rush in and help Stepney out of the scrapyard, after which he makes his way back to the Bluebell Railway via the quarry.
If you watch Duncan Gets Spooked backwards... it begins with Duncan pretending to be asleep, and then pretending to see a ghost engine on the iron bridge, in order to avoid getting out of working the night shift at the slate mines. The next morning, Rusty attempts to change Duncan's skepticism of the supernatural by telling a scary story about an engine who flies from the river onto the iron bridge, but to no avail. Peter Sam is also skeptical. But that evening, a chain of slate trucks do just that and couple themselves to Peter Sam when he is taking a drink, and Rusty is like "I told you so".
If you watch Salty's Secret backwards... it's about the Fat Controller sending Salty to the quarry to teach Bill and Ben music appreciation lessons. It doesn't work, and Salty hates it so much that he runs away from Sodor.
If you watch Twin Trouble backwards... it's about Donald and Douglas hating each other when Douglas pushes Donald into a ditch. They decide to work alone for a while, but eventually amend their relationship when Douglas helps pull Donald out of a haystack.
If you watch Fergus Breaks the Rules backwards... it's about Diesel returning to the cement works after a lengthy stint at the scrapyard. Thomas, afraid for Fergus's safety, sneaks him to an abandoned siding far away. When Fergus returns, though, he gets lost and ends up in the scrapyard. Fortunately, he gets out quickly and eventually finds his way back to the cement works... only to discover that Diesel is still there. Fortunately for Fergus, the Fat Controller sends Diesel away not too long afterwards because Diesel can't do it right.
If you watch Snow Engine backwards... it's about Oliver waking up in a field to find a snowman built around him. He is traumatized, and has hated snow ever since.
