Any fans of C.S Lewis' greatest works 'The Chronicles Of Narnia'? I recently bought the whole set for just under a fiver in 'Works', and I'm enjoying 'em. I've got as far as 'The Horse and His Boy', though I read parts of 'Prince Caspian' and 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader'. Great books. Share your thoughts on 'em, people.

I've only ever read the Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, which remains one of my favourite stories. I'd like to try and read the rest at some point, but I just got overrun with books at Christmas...

I've read the whole series, it's pretty good. I found it interesting how Lewis was able blend Celtic, Roman, Greek, and Norse Mythology together in such away for such good plots; not to mention using biblical reference and using people from his past for characters. Eg. Prof. Kirk Patrick (a. k. a 'The Great Knock') was the basis for the Professor. So on the whole, I found the books really good. My personal favorite was the Silver Chair.

I missed out reading these books when I was little and I don't know why, but I read them about two years ago, around the time the film came out. I think they are great, and as a Christian , I love the Aslan/Christ thing. Prince Caspian is already in production as we speak. I can't wait!!!

This is one of the greatest children's book series ever written, in my opinion. There is a large amount of Christian symbolism and allegory, most prominently in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and a little more subtly in the other books, and I love C.S. Lewis's style of writing. My personal favorite was the last one, The Last Battle. The ending was incredible and soul-stirring. I think the only other time when I got that feeling finishing a book was when I read parts of Book VI of The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien. The series is a must-read, and the movies seem to be pretty good, too!

I remember hearing from my grandparents that my uncle Bob was a Narnia fan when he was younger. I think he said "The Magician's Nephew" might've been his favorite in the series. Like Suze2689, I'm afraid the only Narnia book I read was "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe."
I think my favorite character would have to be Aslan since he is wise and powerful.
