This is my all-time favorite book. I read it about 5 times.
For those who don't know, this book is about a boy of 14 years named Ponyboy Curtis, and it consists of eventsthat change his life.
Talk about it here.

I remember having to read "The Outsiders" in ninth grade English. We did an entire unit on the '60s, which was basically when the book's events took place. The struggle between the Socs and the greasers was very powerful.

I read it last year. I think that it's a good book. Maybe not the best gang story I'd ever read, but it was pretty good.
But have any of you seen the movie?

It was required reading for me in 7th grade, but it was one of the few required reading books that I enjoyed. I saw the movie too, which was alright.

I read the Outsiders in 8th Grade. Let me tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and the movie was great! It even included a cameo by S.E. Hinton, the book's author. She's the nurse who tells Johnny that his mother has arrived at the hospital. Funnily enough, until I saw the movie I thought the events in the book occured in New York City. Turns out the events occured in a small town in Oklahoma. Just goes to show how daft I can be.

Don't worry, Edward the Blue- I thought that also. I had to read it earlier this year. I quite enjoyed it too. We watched the movie of course after we finished, my (ex, perhaps soon to be again) girlfriend was swooning over all the guys, especially Rob Lowe and Tom Cruise I'll never understand why women do that.

The book's fantastic; we're reading it in English class right now (and watching bits of the movie as we go along). Although I've already read it at least three times. I was rather impressed to hear that Hinton was 17 when she wrote the book, too.

I read the Outsiders back in 8th Grade. I quite enjoyed the book. I could easily relate to Johnny Cade, in a way. I haven't seen the movie but I've heard it's pretty good.

I saw part of the movie when I was in 6th grade, then I read the novel last school year when I was in 8th grade and it was great!I liked how the plot and the characters were! :DI even saw the whole after I read the novel. I don't think Johnny Depp was in it unless it was the extended version of the movie.
