I voted "The Stand". I love speculative fiction and this was just so gripping - despite its ridiculous length I read it in a week. I couldn't put it down!

I'd have to go for Pet Semetary. I even made a reference to it in the Salmon Adventure (although it was also partially South Park-inspired.) Jud Crandall is my favourite character in the whole book, he says some incredibly wise things from time to time, especially how most of his brainwaves are premonistic (if that's even a word ). It being a close second, because it's so frightening. Scared me to death.* * How am I still alive, you ask? Does Pet Semetary have anything to do with it?

I have seen 'Pet Sematary' and have the book, and I've seen Carrie and part of The Shining. Other than that, I haven't read or seen any of his books or movies. I really did enjoy 'Pet Sematary' though, creepy as it was. I usually don't enjoy horror movies all that much- there's one that I've never seen and I never plan to, the cover for the video alone can scare the hell out of me!

I wish I didn't vote so soon! I finished Salem's Lot recently, and it was an excellent novel.

Just finished Misery. I don't think I've been as scared or disturbed in my life. EVER.

IT IT IT IT IT IT. THE BEST!-Kee-rect? I LOVED The Shining too. Needless to say, it was VERY hard to vote between my two favorite books. "Halloran did not look to see what had made the noise in the elevator, but he did not want to look, because it did not sound human"

A while ago I finished The Stand. Incredible. I also read Cujo sometime last year; it's definitely not his best.
Anyone read his new book, Cell?

Anyone read his new book, Cell? I have, I felt it was basically a copy of 'The Stand', it had a very similar plot, could Stephen King be possibly running out of ideas?, Anyone read 'Lisey's Story' yet?, I've got a copy of it but haven't yet read it, i feel it's really a bit too long, but then again I could be wrong, 'The Stand' was long and look how good that turned out, I'll just have to read and see

I've only seen Stephen King's "It", but I must say I really enjoyed Tim Curry's performance as Pennywise. I really should pick up the book, though - it sounds chilling.

You know, personally, I like some of his newer works, such as "From A Buick 8" and "Under the Dome". Those are great books, but if I had to pick one from the list at the top, I'd pick Cujo, mainly because I have seen the movie, but never read the book. The rest of them would probably make me afraid to close my eyes.
