This series was an animated children's program about an elephant named Mumfie. It was created by Britt Allcroft and based on a book series. Has anybody seen the book or TV series?

I remember when it was shown on Nick Jr some years back. Actually, Mumfie was based from an old puppet series several years back called " Here Comes Mumfie". (I think) Allcroft did wonders with the story, IMO. It started out as a film split up in several episodes with some beautiful animation. I think Allcroft lent her voice as a queen in the series along with a male narrator who pretty much did all the voices for the other characters. Shortly afterward, Mumfie got another series with stand alone episodes, again each with their own feel and, in a way, reminded me of (classic) Thomas in terms of the writing and how they made use of all the characters in the chapter episodes. And it was followed by a Christmas special. It's been years since I last watched Mumfie, despite what everyone says about it - either they love it or hate it - but I still remember all the characters, the storylines and the songs from the chapter episodes, which were quite nice to listen to. Overall, it's a series I'd like to see on DVD

The show was one of my favorite show along with Thomas on Fox Family. It's sad now the show doesn't air anymore. :(Maybe they should air it sometime or at least put it on DVD so then kids can see it too.

For anyone who has Netflix, several episodes are available for streaming as The Magic Adventures of Mumfie.

I remember this show years ago when I saw some episodes on Fox Family along with Shining Time Station. I also still have a copy of the film on tape.
I'm glad Allcroft is releasing the series again to the public. I watched half of the episodes on Netflix and thought they're still good.

I know this show and I am a big fan of it! I have tons of merchandise from it and have seen every single episode. It was also, believe it or not, the first cartoon I ever watched back when Fox Family aired it-my brother was a fan of it too. My favorite character is Scarecrow because he is just like me. I also really enjoyed this episode of the show the most. Who else remembers this particular one? Allcroft did wonders with the story, IMO. It started out as a film split up in several episodes with some beautiful animation. I think Allcroft lent her voice as a queen in the series along with a male narrator who pretty much did all the voices for the other characters. Actually, she was both The Queen of Night and the Queen of Light

So I heard about the reboot Britt is working on. I saw bits of a teaser years ago and thought it was scrapped until a trailer came out last year. Though I'm not sure if it's already out or not as I can't find anything else.
It doesn't look too bad, though I prefer the version Britt did many moons ago as I like the quiet and comfort feeling of that one. I'm still wondering why the rest of the episodes aren't released?
