Anyone seen this? A truly brilliant sketch show from 1979-82 starring Rowan Atkinson (pretty much the first thing he performed in), Griff Rhys Jones, Mel Smith, and Pamela Stephenson. It also featured Billy Connolly in a few sketches. I first saw this last summer when it was on BBC Four and have seen about 6 or so epsiodes. Although apparently a lot of them have been chopped and changed since it was first broadcast, and some older episodes have never, and will never be released, which is a bit of a kick in the nuts really. Although some of the best sketches can be found on the Volumes 1 and 2 DVDs and on YouTube. Since it was in the 70s and 80s, some of the jokes are dated, but overall it is hilarious!

My favourite sketches were Gerald the Gorilla and the guy with the seven toilets in the final episode. I absolutely love Not the Nine O'Clock News. I have one of the DVD's. It's definitely one of Rowan Atkinson's best work. After Mr. Bean!

Brilliant programme. Unfortunatley the only versions of Not the Nine O'Clock News broadcast are the 12 compilation episodes from the series. It would be fantastic to see the originals.
