Yes, it's the film we've all heard about on the 'net since March. It's set to be released this Friday in the US, and it's already being talked about on the Golden Raspberry (Razzie) Award's website. (For those who don't know, these awards 'honor' the worst the film industry has to offer.)
So, anyone want to give their thoughts on this potential flop of a film and Samuel L. Jackson's "I've had it with these motherf***ing snakes on this motherf***ing plane!" line?

It'll will be interesting to see how it does. I will say that it is so out there, it may work. Doesn't mean I'll be seeing it (fear of snakes), but it does seem so out there it may work.

I have no idea what's up with this movie. I'm not going to see it, that's for sure.
Someone has to do a parody of this thing. "Snakes on a Train," anyone?

Don't judge too quickly guys. Anything's possible with Sam Jackson....I'm going to see it and reserve my thoughts afterwards.

I seriously don't think that this is going to flop. I mean, it's gained a ton of popularity since it came up. It will most likely be a sleeper hit, though.

1)Reserve judgement til it happens. It might be so out of the box that it's damn successful. 2)Parody? Not yet, we need teh sauce material!

At first I thought the idea was so laughably awful, absurd, and overblown that I had to see it when it came out. Then I decided "Why Bother". If I hear that it's a good laugh, then I'll probably just download it. Usually, I'd feel bad about ripping off something online but I can say the very idea that there are people in Hollywood who plan on making a load of cash off of such an obviously half baked idea is offensive. They should be taught that making poor remakes, sequels and God-awful original movies will not get them anywhere. Sadly, though, it seems those things do make a profit...

The hype about this first started last summer - see www.overcompensating.com for the full history. I say don't judge the movie until you've seen it. The hype could be justified, on the other hand it could be all hype and no substance. The only reservation I have is that most of the publicity came from the fact that the movie was called "Snakes on a Plane". I know from such films as "Surf Nazis Must Die" and "Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town" that a funny title does not necessarily a good film make.

I too have a feeling from all the fan-base stuff I've been hearing that this film will be a hit despite its absurdity. How big of a hit it will be remains to be seen.

The plot, tho original, is possibly only good in a webcomic...not a feature length movie... That infamous line will become popular tho, and bootleg copies of the scene will probably flood the internet... rivaling that of the BOOM HEADSHOT and LEEEROOOOOOOYY mnahJEEEEEEEENNNKIIIIIIIIINNNNSSSss lines.

Samuel Jackson was good as a Jedi Master and a Cop, I don't know about this movie though...
In any case, I probablly won't. Looks funny, but unless some firend says "Nothing to do? Wanna see Snakes on a plane"?

I suspect I'll be the same. I wouldn't say no if someone wanted to see it with me, but I wouldn't consider it a must-see.

I'm sorry to have to be one of those people to say this, but I actually enjoyed Snakes on a Plane. No, seriously. I mean, it was bad, yes, but bad in a hilarious way. Samuel L. Jackson was brilliant in it and his "I HAVE HAD IT WITH THESE MOTHERF*****G SNAKES ON THIS MOTHERF*****G PLANE!" line was the icing on the cake. The violence in it was so overly-drastic, horrific and over-gory, particularly with that girl who got bitten in the t*t just as she and that dude were having sex in the toilet. I hated the eyes bulging, the OTHER toilet death, the dog's death (murdered) and the sick bag death. Really, to be honest, I think this film should have been an 18. Mind you having said that, should Team America: World Police (also a 15) have also been an 18 due to the sheer level of foul language Trey Parker and Matt Stone put into that film???

I am not ashamed to admit that I found "Snakes on a Plane" to be hilarious. I started to have my doubts about it not living up to the hype a short while ago as well, but that all changed when I finally saw it yesterday. The over-the-top death scenes had me splitting my sides, the characters are gloriously 2D, Sam Jackson and the other cast members are clearly having a ball and the snake CGI is almost intentionally ridiculous. It's completely silly, of course, but it's meant to be. You don't watch "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" and expect "Lord of the Rings". Check it if you feel like a fun slice of gore, cheese and larfs and just expect what's on the tin. Snakes on a plane.

Well, the weekend box office results are in - and SoaP has grossed a rather dissapointing $13,806,311 in the US box office, plus another $1,399,990 from a couple of Thursday night screenings. So much for the film's Internet hype. Despite this, it has still managed to obtain a 71% 10/10 rating at IMDb. NOTE: Oh, and bobwinkle about that parody thing you suggested, hate to break it to you but someone's already made a parody called 'Snakes On A Train' : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snakes_on_a_train

And here's a more hiliarous one... www.weebls-stuff.com/toons/trailer/TBH, the film looks a flop to me. Its looks like it's based on one of those idea's where someone joked 'Imagine if they made a film where these snakes ran amock on this plane? Imagine the gore man!' Some laughed, some thought the person was not at all funny and then there was one person who would take it seriously and thought, 'Yeah...that would be a blockbuster hit!'. Of course, this is just merely my first glance at the film. I'll probably go and watch it and think 'fantastic!'. Then again, I probably won't.

I've seen it today and i enjoyed it. It deserves the hype it got. Lots of unteresting characters. Kenan (Sp?) Thompson was good in this as was Jackson as usual. His famous quote stole the show.

Wha's this about a parody? Have we already forgot "Snakes On A Burger", "Snakes On A Barge" etc.? Speaking of which, we had giant rubber snakes whilst swimming on holiday, and I couldn't help myself... "SNAKES IN A POOL!" ;D

Ah yes, I saw the Snakes on a Train trailer while watching The Soup, one of my favorite comedy shows. This comedian named Joel McHale hosts it, and he basically riffs about celebrity news all show long. It may sound repetitive, but it's a hell of a lot funnier than it sounds.
*ANYWAY* Back on topic!
