Yes, it's recently been said on the radio that it would make a comeback and I saw it on Richard and Judy not long ago as well. As with the original series, I did watch it when I was little and I occasionally watch it on Challenge as well. Am I right to say that John Sachs who narrated it also narrated Disney video releases? It sounded alike.
Favourite Male Gladiator: Shadow Worst Male Gladiator: Wolf Man! No question Favourite Female Gladiator: Lightning. Cute Worst Female Gladiator: Scorpio Favourite Event: Swing Shot Worst Event: Powerball

I like Gladiators too. I've heard it's coming back. Will it have the original team. I liked Wolf. He was the most memorable. Vulcan was also the most memorable Aussie Gladiator. HE used to have fights with Wolf. Remember that Shadow and Scorpio took drugs and got kicked off the show?

Considering that it's been...what, about 7 or 8 years since Gladiators was last done, I somewhat doubt the original team will be involved. Possible, but not likely.

Oh how I loved this, the 90's sure had some great television. can't remember too much about it, Wolf was bad but thats simply what made him interesting, I liked the ring round the best I think, not that I can really remember much about the others.

I loved the Gladiators, I'm glad it's coming back in a couple of weeks time (or something like that) with a brand new series, new gladiators, new games, new presenters with John Anderson once again at the Referee.
Wolf was forever in trouble, although as a kid I was always a fan of Trojan. My Mother liked Hunter, and my Dad liked Lightning.
I've seen the new Gladiators, some are cool, some are okay, but 4 of the Females are hot as bl**dy hell! Some may say they are all hot, but I liked 4 of them. I'm glad a show like Gladiators is coming back, we need that back since it was so popular and plus TV these days isn't as good as Back in the 90s when we were growing up. Some TV is good these days, so I'm not dissing new shows.

You crazy lot and your crazy UK and US Gladiators... Must watch TV for me. Been back on now for about a month and I love it. It's so hilarious the way the Gladiators say those cliched lines and then there's all the faux bravado and everything. Great fun. Plus the mighty Kouta's a Gladiator in v.2008. How cool is that.

I've been quite a massive Gladiators fan: I met Wolf and Jet at a summer fete in Worcester when I was young, and I actually went to Birmingham for my 8th birthday to see Gladiators for real!

I loved the original series of Gladiators as well but somehow this new series isn't really turning me on. That said the original producers in the 90s were LWT and barely exist anymore so the new contestants and the production company may be worth a gander. Despite what a few say Wolf is my favourite gladiator. He used to live in my local area back then which in some cases my sister has seen him before in public but I would admit he can be like a panto character sometimes marching down the audience with banners of the big bad wolf.

Well I've watched the new UK Gladiators Series on Sky One, and I must say it was pretty good. But since it was only the first episode, it's still got along way to go.
But from what I've so far of the new one, it looks like it could be just as good as the original.

I haven't seen new Gladiators, given that I don't get Sky One, but everyone who saw it at my school disliked it. I overhead mentions of some guy trying too hard to be the new Wolf, the presenter being unable to decide if it's Gladiate-ors or Gladiators, and the old theme tune isn't even in use. Still...if new Gladiators floats your boat have fun

Do we still get the same games in the new series? I hope Eliminator and Hang Tough and the other ones are still in there. We need Something from the old days still there.

Well I can tell you OJ that Eliminator is still there, but has had a big upgrade, Hang Tough is still there along with Duel, Gauntlet, Powerball, Pyramid and the Wall.
There's one new game called Earthquake to come in, I guess that's coming in the next one.
I looked on Wikipedia to find out which are back but not used and ones I've seen.

The new Gladiators are pretty cool, although I think naming one of them "Panther" was a bit of a mistake, considering we've already had a former "Panther".
However, according to official sources, look out for former Gladiators Hunter, Ace, Wolf, Trojan, Lightning, Rebel, Rocket and Flame making appearances in the near future.

I personally dont unnderstand why it is not on terrestrial TV, it seems like it is the kind of thing that do well, i clearly remember it as Saturday night entertainment in the early 90's, dont see why not show it in the same way! As long as it wouldn't clash with Doctor Who!!! ;D

That's true, and it's next Sunday at 8.00pm. I can't wait to see it, it's going to be great. The Legends vs. the New Breed, awesome. Anyone else going to watch that?

Sorry to double-post, but its been nearly fifteen years since I last posted in this thread.
But has anyone here seen the BBC's Revival of Gladiators for the last few weeks that its been on Saturday Nights? Hosted by Bradley Walsh and his son Barney Walsh.
I'll admit that I was really sceptical about it - especially when there seemed to be mixed views over Sky's revival in the late 2000s (though I personally liked it). But I must admit that I'm actually enjoying it. It does go all out to get that 90s vibe of Gladiators as if Sky's revival had never happened - including having the original theme song from the 90s, as well as aspects of the Eliminator being like the 90s gem (granted smaller, but still always has you on the edge of your seat).
They've got a couple of new games: Collision (which is sort of like Hit and Run but slight different), The Edge and The Ring (which is like Atlaspheres only that neither Contenders of Gladiators are in spheres), as well as revived some classics like Powerball, Hang Tough and The Wall to name a few. But there's nothing from Sky's version just to clarify for those who remembers Sky's Gladiators.

The theme tune brings back nostalgic memories of the 90s and it's great to see some of the old events come back. ^^ Out of The Edge, Collision and The Ring, I'd say The Edge is the most impressive I'm my book, being played at such a height! As for the new Gladiators, I'd pick Viper and Diamond as favourites.
