Only a few months ago did i manage to see some of the old Sooty episodes on youtube, the ones that I remember too from the late 80's when it was the Sooty Show rather than Sooty and Co. I loved there little bed room, so cute, and I forgot how funny Sweep was. He really was a general dip stick. Oh the nostalgia lol

I used to watch Sooty and Co, and then when Richard took over Matthew. I also remember Sooty's Amazing Adventures Cartoon also. I did have a video tape of the Sooty Show from the 80s, but I mainly remember Sooty and Co, Sooty Heights and Sooty 2000s. And Sooty is now 60 years old, I heard from Dan5589 yesterday although Sooty was 60 in July. Here's a news clip I found on YouTube: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=hMJ4RTeZhBs

Bought that DVD when I went to Ealing Broadway, I've also got quite a lot of the sooty series as well as the rare Sooty meets Muffin clip on a muffin the mule tape. Found out on Sooty Wiki, Richard Cadell IS planning a new Sooty series later this year.

The nation's favourite teddy bear Sooty returns with his friends Sweep and Soo in a brand new show by the seaside!, Richard has landed a new job. He has been taken on as "Mr Fix-it" at Slater's family holiday park. Living together in a caravan on-site, Sooty, Sweep and Soo, are always on call to 'help' Richard and keep him out of trouble with Mr Slater. What could possibly go wrong? .....Everything!!!The recent new series that’s broadcasted on CiTV over the week has been better than i expected, the return of Scampi at a wedding, the classic Sooty and Co Campervan, and much more, so far this week we've seen celebrity guest stars such as Justin Lee Collins, Keith Chegwin and Stacey Solomon. The previous series before this had terrible looking puppets and Brenda Longman was absence as Soo's Voice, she more looked like a Koala! This series has improved since then, and if you missed any of the new eps over the week, check them out on YouTube or on ITVPlayer!

Oh, I loved Sooty when I was younger (I watched Sooty & Co). I heard the news regarding the new series, and it does sound interesting.
Hey, on a slightly related topic, did anyone see the Puppet Special of The Weakest Link? Soo was on it, and she won.

Clearly, Richard Cadell's problem in the past was bad writing. Now that he's in charge of the whole thing, his talent shines through much more. You can really see how passionate he is about Sooty and the brand, rather than just trying to make money off it like the previous owners (no prizes for guessing whom!) I've only watched a couple of these new episodes, but what I have seen has been good, especially Sweep's swimming lesson episode. Obviously, I'm eagerly awaiting the one where Matthew Corbett makes an appearance

Wouldn't say I was a mega fan of Sooty when I was younger. I saw a bit of Sooty and Co when it was on and enjoyed it, but it's not really something I'd seek out for nostalgiac viewings on YouTube...
However, from the few episodes of the new Sooty I've seen, consider me hugely impressed. It really does feel like old school childrens TV from the golden age of the 80's/90's. Clearly isn't intended to be educational and there are no hidden messages or morals. It's just there to entertain. I'm pleasantly surprised at the amount of slapstick they've managed to get past the censors too - with Sooty and Sweep occassionally getting quite violent with each other! Evidently, Richard et al had a good time making the show and the low budget nature only adds to the fun, as it seems they're mostly limited to filming around the theme park
For a 60 year old "franchise", Sooty just seems to remain timeless and I hope this latest incarnation does well with a new generation of kids. Poor puppet immitators from the past decade of drab kids TV (looking in the direction of Emu (2007 revival) and Bear Behaving Badly) should take note on how to do it right.

Sooty was always a big source of comedy and joy for me and my sister! I've even got hand puppets of Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Scampi (though Sweep's squeaker has broken)!
I was first interested when I saw a few episodes of Sooty & Co (namely World Of Fun and Bun Fight) and learned that the presenter's name was Matthew, which I saw as a sort of sign as my name is also Matthew (I was too young and naive in those days to believe in coincidences).
Nonetheless, I have always regarded Sooty as one of the most loveable and sought-after anthropomorphic animals in TV history - which he is! He is one of those characters who really deserves the best!

Tune into the CITV channel tomorrow at 10:10am tomorrow. Why? Because I saw the second 'Sooty' episode today and it starred Matthew Corbett ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D. He was his original self and he used some of his old phrases. I loved it, it was hilarious, and there was a little bit of 'Scooby-Doo' in that episode as well .

I saw Richard Cadell, Sooty and Sweep on 'This Morning' and they had some surprises in store for us. Sooty showed us his new tap dancing shoes and they showed a special magic trick for the 65th Anniversary. They have also confirmed that a new Series of 'Sooty' will be airing on the CITV Channel in September. Brian Blessed will be playing Santa Claus and Amy Childs will be the Fitness Instructor in another episode.
