I've seen robotboy a couple of times, and the said on CNetwork, it is supposed to be making new episodes. Now, CNetwork doesn't broadcast here in Canada, but Robotboy is on YTV at 5:30 Monday in my area (and the called 1/4 chainsaw!)

I've never seen it. Does it have that retro-style animation with the thick outlines and flat characters?
BTW, "Tommy Turnbull" is ridiculously similar to "Timmy Turner" from Fairly Odd-Parents, although I can't stant that show. Jeez, there's no originality in modern cartoons...

Here's a little image of what some of the caracters look like. I have to say, Tommy's head does look like Mac's head from foster's home for imaginary friends.

Hmm, that sounded a bit cynical there Capt. Funnily enough, there are some roots in of Japanese films and cartoons (such as Robotboy having the power to get transform into a bigger form and activate machine guns) and Dr. Kamikaze and his sidekick Constantine look Japanese.

Ugh, Astro Boy rip-off.
I did like the show for about two minutes until I realized how hopeless it was. I am personally shocked how such rubbish could be based in Britain (when I shouldn't, 'cos most British shows suck anyway). Like the Captain said, it seems that no cartoons these days have to rely on their own material and have to use Japanese or Chinese shows for inspiration...
... Bit like Atomic Betty, and I like that show.

Yeah, to be truthful, I did try and enjoy this series, but I couldn't. It seemed like a cross between MY LIFE AS A TEENAGE ROBOT and ATOMIC BETTY. Plus, with each storyline, I could tell what was going to happen next. The voices seemed all wrong for most characters as well. Gus sounded like Cartman from South Park, Dr. Kamikaze's sidekick Constantine sounded freakishly high pitched for a big guy, nothing I had hoped for. Only Robotboy sounded good, though (Thanks to Tara Strong ) but I just couln't bear to watch another episode...with or without that annoying Gus. Apologies to anyone who does like this series and sorry again if I may have gone into a mini-rant. I'm just expressing my thoughts on this show. Anything else I want to say I keep to myself.

(blows dust off)
Since this thread hasn't been touched in years, I thought on sharing some of my thoughts on the show.
I kinda watched bits of it in late 2005 when CN aired it in the US. I didn't think much of it, but I know I loved the art style and I feel like they were trying to replicate the Teenage Robot style as that was influenced by early animes. Though it's been a long time since I saw it.
It's funny looking at the old posts that many of the older users disliked the cartoon, but now it's nostalgia to the people that watched it. It makes me wonder if those users that disliked the show when it came out; still hate it or have a soft spot over the years.
Also funny is that a bunch of the actors later worked on Thomas.
