There's something that's been bugging me for a little bit. Isn't it odd that they've now got these live-action shows on Cartoon Network, such as "Destroy, Build, Destroy" when Cartoon Network has been known for its cartoons? Yeah that bothers me to, it seems like Cartoon Network of all channels is trying to cash in on Discovery Channel's success with shows like Mythbusters and Smash Labs (Which I hate! Mythbusters with just the explosions, no science, and no Adam and Tori? No thank you!). That's just stupid to me since kids already like to watch those shows on Discovery Channel. If they are watching Cartoon Network it is likely for the cartoons. The only live action that belongs on there is 'Delocated' which is funny as hell but Adult Swim fodder. I also hate the 'Survive This' crap Cartoon Network put on which was hosted by none other than the Science Channel/Discovery Channels own Les Stroud. Speaking of Discovery Channel why so many survival shows? Survivorman = Win and Bear Grylls eating from a raw putrid Zebra killed by lions was entertaining. Dual Survival and Man Woman Wild however are just redundant. The woman on Man Woman Wild is just annoying.

I can't be the only one who doesn't like any of these so-called "Adult Animations" like South Park or Family Guy. South Park never really piqued my interest, as I understand it's now just vulgar for the sake of being vulgar. Family Guy has become intolerable due to the amount of McFarlane views thrown in by Brian who's become nothing more than an annoying Mary-Sue. If anything, these so called "Mature" cartoons are less mature than anything else, as they feel the need to throw in tons of tasteless jokes and not bothering with anything compelling.
Also, I can't stand the blight of the airwaves known as Reality TV. It isn't real. They just try to make it seem real so the double-digit IQ audience (The majority of the world) will eat it up regardless of quality.
Anything on Disney Channel. I find it hilarious how the logo is still Mickey's ears but Mickey himself is literally never shown on it anymore. The endless laugh track and plagiarized plots make me want to put a brick through the TV.
TTTE. I mean Good Lord, Reverend Awdry's world has been absolutely annihilated! The repetitive plots, bland characterization and poor narration make this Thomas in name only.
In fact, most TV today I can't stand to watch. The only show I make a conscious effort to watch is Batman: The Brave & the Bold, a brilliant Silver Agesque take on Batman and the DC Universe that can go from fun lighthearted action to dark character driven drama ("Chill of the Night!")

Two of my favourite channels have gone to seed in the last couple years TLC - Ever since they premiered the show Say Yes to the Dress, it's like that's all they show. If they're not showing that, they're showing Cake Boss. I'm tired of 5th Ave. bridal gown dramas and my big fat family bakery dramas (though I'll give Cake Boss some leeway here, because what they make is indeed amazing). But both these shows are overshown and taking up time that could be used for other programs - I personally like to see some of the medical shows as well as the newer shows like Hoarders: Buried Alive (though admittedly, A&E's Hoarders is better). TruTV (formerly Court TV) - This channel went from a focus on the REAL law and order, to pretty much everything but. During the day, past and present, they aired coverage of various trials and stuff around the country (but they REALLY got their name with O.J. Simpson's case, as well as other high profile cases like Andrea Yates), and then at 5PM they would air all kinds of fascinating shows to do with forensics as well as documentaries about various well-known cases, as well as some not well-known ones. Now it's turned pretty much into one big reality channel (their new slogan is 'Not Reality. Actuality.'). It's a load of BS, it's like watching the show Cops over and over again, with various twists. The names of some shows give you a clue: World's Dumbest is their most popular show, and it can involve anything... anything stupid you can do with a car, in a sport, just... anything stupid... , and this is what channel becomes at 5PM until like... I dunno. Seriously, I feel stupid just watching this crap. Now they only show the good stuff on like, Sunday nights after 11PM. It's saddening. ~Elizabeth

In fact it's the reason why they made Quagmire hate Brian in the last series.

Hmm, might as well have a go and see if I can match the really witty persons who made Blackadder such a hit... Well, although I love The Railway Series and I do have a respect for Britt Allcroft's brighter ideas (including Busy Going Backwards), I'm afraid the HiT episodes are a very good reason for it. I've never really seen them anywhere except on YouTube (guilty habit! ) but, when I have, only a handful are actually appealing. The Duncan episodes in particular are worth the watch for the slightly more sympathetic portrayal he's given, despite being stuck in his old ways. Apart from that, the biggest problem I've had with these creations is how patronising they are! If you're going to teach social values through media, hammering it in is one thing but making it blatently obvious every single time doesn't help either. Far from being plain sugary, I'd say they've got the sugar replaced by what Terry Pratchett would call "100% artificial additives" instead! And then there's the problem of the Reverend Wilbert's world being completely left behind. There have been some pretty dodgy adaptations of many things over the years - Shakespeare and Roald Dahl's work have not always been given the sympathetic attention they deserve when adapted - but this takes the Huntley & Palmer biscuits! In fact, such is the lack of thought for what the Awdry family strove so hard to perfect and the unsympathetic inaccuracies in character portrayals that I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the ridiculousness took the Huntley & Palmers and put them in a blender with custard creams and hundreds of dry chocolate digestives! Anyway, back on topic... I can't really think of any specific programmes to come up with but I do keep firmly away from most things with strong language in them, especially ones where it gets out of control. It's only the more contained and more sensitive level comedies like Blackadder that can tempt me in that respect. Any stronger than that and I get completely put off the programme in question. Mind you, I'm not much of a television regular so I can't really talk, can I? If I think of anything else, I'll come back to this thread at a future date. Warm Regards As Always, Matthew (MRHloco)

1.) Unnatural History: Hello, this is cartoon network, no body gives two f**ks about a rip off of National Treasure. 2.) Adventure Time: There taking off Chowder for this s***!!?? 3.) The Misadventures of Flapjack: Most of the characters are drawn to awkwardly. 4.) Sonic X: What the hell has Yuji Naka done?

Any of the "____'s Funniest Home Videos" shows. Allow me to outline every episode of it:
Video featuring someone injuring their genitalia. Video of someone attempting stunt and getting injured. Video of animal doing something silly. Video of someone playing a lame practical joke. Video of baby or child acting "funny". Video of of a wedding/concert/reunion going wrong.
Now pad out this schlock-fest with seven minute commercial breaks every five minutes, and watch the idiotic audience vote the child acting stupid as the winner.

Family Guy. At least the new ones, where they drag a joke out for 5 minutes. It's sad cause it was great when it started.
And most episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond I can't stand because it's just too awkward.

I will attract a massive amount of verbal artillary and insults for saying this but here it goes........ The Simpson'sThis show which started out as one of the best in the world has plumitted in quality. If these two action's are put into effect the end might be averted. 1. Get Rid of lisa . I hate you you stupid worm, Stop moaning you thick Clown. She is the most insufferable character's, with her nazely voice and annoying opinion's. I agree with what she say's, I just don't want to hear about it when I'm watching TV. Please at least turn her into a meg like character. Being constantly bullied by the rest of the family. 2. Bring back the good old character's and no more The Simpsons are going to..... Apart from the Austrailia one they were all awful. Don't get me wrong, the old one's, much like Thomas were and still are brillent. Some other shows I hate. I Carly. Fair City(It's an Irish thing, an embarrising Irish thing.) Anything Disney that doesnt concern Pixar. The sweet life of Zack and Cody. Should be changed, how about The not so sweet life of Zack and Cody in stalingrad.New thomas. Ben 10, About as entertaining as having a Foot removed, for no reason. Johnny test About as funny as having a foot removed. Barney. Another contender for Life in stalingrad. In the night garden. How much Hash was smoken when that was Written. Dissaster Movie. It really was. Ireland AM. Crappy presenter's. Crappy guest's. South Park. Its really gone downhill. All they do is reference Current event's. And the music is awful. That camp lazlo, not even remotley funny. Football, am I the only person that thinks this is the most boring thing in the world. At least with hockey and hurling when a fight breaks out the player's have something to hit each other with. The Hill's. Big Brother. A cousin of mine won it. Em what's his face. Glee Nuff said. Friends. Never laughed once.

To add to your thoughts, zoso, reg; The Simpsons, Lisa is an "unbearable" character because the writers made her what she is - similar to what the writers of Family Guy have done to Meg. Neither know squat about writing for teenage girls so they make Lisa and Meg an excuse for "comic relief" and to keep the "cast of five" full. At least that's what I've seen and heard with my own knowledge. Then again, Simpsons have been trying far, far too hard to copy FG's style of humour for years, and failing ever so slowly each season...

Ok, I'm not one to mini mod, but honestly, the amount of swearing and distasteful language in this post needs to be deleted. Do you remember that we have members here who are 13, and rather impressionable minds?
You can have free speech, but the way you refered to Lisa, who is supposed to be the intelligent relief in the Simpsons (and also how you spoke of the other shows) is abhorrent.
Clean it up. Outline what I've to change and Ill change it. Because I don't see any swearing to be honest that you don't need your imagination to figure out.$%£$@ Could mean Fiddlestick's. The only one I found entertaining was the I pod one where she download's all the song's and she's can't pay for them. And that was only funny to me anyway because of the way lisa had to pay back the money.(Dressed as an I pod giving out leaflet's. Then again, Simpsons have been trying far, far too hard to copy FG's style of humour for years, and failing ever so slowly each season... Have to agree with you there. South Park as well. They resort to more redicilious storyline's to get to the funny joke's. Whereas Family Guy can do a "Remember the time you....". I mean no disrespect, you understand.

I think simply re-edit the censored "swearing" anyway. It doesn't look cool; you can express your opinion just as well without doing so. There was an overly aggressive tone to some of your comments. Remember we're discussing - for the most part - fictional shows and characters, so it's nothing to get so worked up about. Oh God, The Simpsons. :/ I have to agree to zoso that this show's getting old. Never mind the glaring continuity errors plaging it. (I once wanted to make a whole video on it, but some have suggested that stringent continuity doesn't matter on a show like this.) The stories nowadays are weak and tend to change focus a third of the way through. (Like a plot of a $1000 bill changing to a trip to London where Homer gets thrown into into the Tower of London.) Oh, and I have to disagree about the Australia episode. I hated it when I first saw it, because of the way it satirised our culture. Bottom line; The Simpsons has become way too satirical for it's own good and needed to call it quits after their movie. I don't hate it (it can still give the occasional chuckle), but it needs to die.
And Glee; never actually watched it, but judging from it's musical style (and one chick's obsession with angels), would I want to? Exactly!

Well I hated the Irish one because they dident use sterotypes enough(Im Irish). Like that joke about the Giants causeway, I just went on forever, and to get from there to the blarney stone is about 5/6 hours drive. So stupid. The comic's are far better.

South Park (I use to like it, but now it's just a bunch of jokes going over and over, I mean, Cartman making fun of Kyle for being jewish, that is really getting annoying!) Balls of Steel (I hate it, I hate it so much! It's awful crap and disgusting) King of The Hill (The storyline is getting boring and it seems more of a weak drama show then a comedy show.) Bold and The Beautiful (It's cheesy and boring) Cartoon Network shows TMRReturns
