For anyone who watches The Office (US or UK, it doesn't matter).
I think Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson bring much more character and vibrancy to the US show than their "counterparts" in the UK, but its just an opinion.

Nah, 'fraid I preferred the UK version. The humor was much more subtle and suited to the program. The US version seemed a bit too fake for me, hence not quite as enjoyable. True, I didn't see that much of it though.
But the Office was a great show. As I've said, most of the humor comes cleverly through its subtle nature (particularly the awkward silences that follow one of Brent's attempts at humor), and considering Ricky Gervais had hardly acted before, he pulled off David Brent incredibly. Sort of a shame it didn't last that long, but at least it finished whilst it was still at it's peak. And the ending was so perfect, it'd be a shame to bring it back and ruin it (as Only Fools and Horses did)

I love The Office. One of the best shows on TV right now. You need to watch a few of the episodes to get into and understand the characters, but once you do, you're hooked.

I must admit, the first season of the US run just seemed like an obnoxious adaptation of the original, and could have been a lot better, but when its second season rolled around, I think they really got their act together and turned the show around. Maybe I'm just biased because I'm American. Either way, both are quality shows. btw, has anyone seen the French adaptation, Le Bureau?
