"Courage The Cowardly Dog" came from the mind of John R. Dilworth, and first appeared in animated form as the pilot, "The Chicken From Outer Space". The main premise of the show is Courage protecting Muriel from any danger that threatens their old farmhouse in Nowhere, or helping out surreal characters with their often surreal problems. Muriel's husband is Eustace, who owns the farm and is a right old grump, always treating Courage with great disrespect, but which is portrayed in a comedic way, an example being the infamous "Stupid dog!" line. The show airs on CN, and lasted four seasons, all of which were superb.
Unfortunately, CN doesn't show it much anymore, usually only on weekends at night. CN has done this with other shows as well which used to be the staple of the network, only seeming more worried about churning out all these new, not very good shows. But despite the drop in airings, "Courage The Cowardly Dog" shall always remain one of CN's greatest.

True to life. Courage used to be one of my favourite shows, although it scared the pants off of me. "King Ramses' Curse" was teh best episode, hands down BTW, have you noticed that the apparition of KR in the episode is similiar to the mummy of the REAL King Ramses I?

I remember that Ringo Starr made a cameo as the Duck Brothers. That was cool.

Quite like that show. One of the better cartoon shows from that era of cartoon network.

Ramses' Curse scared the living daylights out of me back when I first watched the show. It was and incredible cartoon, though, I must say. I never knew they still aired it, albeit rarely.

"Courage The Cowardly Dog" was not one of my favorites, but I do enjoy watching the episode "Ball of Revenge" because of one funny part:
Eustace: What have we gathered here for? Villians: REVENGE! Eustace: And whom are we going to revenge to? Villians: THAT STUPID DOG!

The cameo, if it's the one I believe you refer to, was supposedly in "Ball Of Revenge", in which he voiced the two duck brothers singing, although isn't listed in the credits. However, he played second to Courage in "The Duck Brothers" episode, voicing all three ducks. ;D

I love this show, and I miss it now that it isn't on Cartoon Network that much. I used to love how Estuce would yell "STUPID DOG!" to Courage. I would always get a laugh out of that. I hope that someday they'll decide to put this show on more often.

Or, they could dish out the cash to make a whole other channel for the old CN shows (sort of like what Nickelohoweveritsspelled did with Nicktoons TV). I'd watch that every single day.

Ah, Courage. I used to watch him periodically, but nowadays I have to catch him late at night (good thing I'm virtually an owl!). Like many, 'King Ramses' Curse' used, and still does, to scare me to death. I can just hear Ramses saying 'Return the slab...' in that creepy voice. Eustace and Muriel were my favourite characters. They used to remind me of Victor and Margeret Meldrew from 'One Foot in the Grave'. The Indian Doctor made me laugh too and I always quote him when someone asks me to do an impossible task; There's nothing to worry about, but there is nothing I can do.

I am not a big fan of Courage, but I think the episode I like is the one with Doc Gerble.

I remember watching Courage at a very young age just before it became a series like how the Powerpuff Girls was also handled. It's not one of my top favorite Cartoon Network shows, but I still enjoy it. I know since the last post that there was a one off short and that Scooby-Doo crossover.
