Who remembers this programme, frequently shown on ITV in the 1990's?
My sister was into it before me, and when I got interested, I found it quite comical. It was just how a kid's programme should be - educational and entertaining, without overdosing on the former value. I was amazed to learn recently that its original presenter, John Cunliffe, also wrote the 'Postman Pat' stories.
So, feel free to discuss the show.

I watched this when I was younger, but I only remember having one video, the cover was purple I think and it featured butterflies and the last one on the video of John at the hairdressers having his hair shampooed! If I'm wrong, then someone please correct me! Strangly enough, it had a man at desk which I think was telling about the certificate of the video, it felt quite lengthy at the time, or was that me?

I never liked it after John Cunliffe left. He was the best.

I used to watch this when I was a kid, but I can't really remember anything about it now, other than the Theme Tune & the fact they lived on a Canal Boat, Also for a bit of amusement Rosie can be seen on the front of James May's Car/Boat from 'Top Gear', I've included an image below...

I agree John Cunliffe was the best. No one else could be better.

I'm sure there was someone else who came on the show after Pat left, too. Who was that?

Someone called Neil I think, Wikipedia might have the answer

That would be Neil, yes. The guy who played the accordian.
John was my favourite, as well. He was such a unique looking chap, too. I can't remember the last time I saw a TV presenter with a long beard, let alone on a children's programme.

Rosie and Jim was a brilliant program, despite the Teletubbies marlarky. Oh aye, I be a fan of R&J. Was a great show. Didn't they try to re-launch it, as it were, a few years back? I remember there being some new ones on CiTV but then they stopped them. Probably didn't work out I'm guessing...

Oh no, didn't need to delete your post. I didn't mean anything with 'Boo you'. Just saying it was a bad thing to judge something despite not seeing it. ---- Just been in discussion about Bono with this, but who can remember a episode of R&J? I actually struggled to name a few. Be interesting to see if anyone can remember any .

I remember several episodes of this show- and I've still got a couple of videos kicking about somewhere. One of the episodes I liked best was "Coal" where they visited a coal mine. That episode was actually filmed at the Black Country Living Museum.

That's right.
My brother still likes Rosie and Jim, having got 6-8 videos of it.
I remember seeing John Cunliffe in person, he was doing a book signing for Rosie and Jim and also for Postman Pat, but that was somewhere around 15 years ago in Birmingham.

The episode 'Tunnel' is up on youtube. They should release the old series on DVD.
