I'm with the lot of you, Gerry has amazing talent. The thing thats making me sort of sigh inside is that no matter what if he makes a new series or not, it will never be the same as the original. Speaking of new series, is there any story ideas that you guys had? I had two back when I got the Thunderbirds Boxset. One was an episode where a space ship (Zero-X or different), finally completes a trip to mars, and with their payload are some of those freaky Rock Snakes that have sneaked on the ship. Imagine a Air Base of Launch Area coming under attack from those things. Another was a team-up with Stingray. It could be cool. Actually I thad a Stingray book where the Hood appears as a spy employed by X20 Crossovers would be cool. According to saome of the character bios. Captain Grey from Captain Scarlet was part of WASP(stingray)and one of the Angels knows Lady Penelope so a crossover can be considered.

When you talk to people about Gerry Anderson, they immediately think about thunderbirds, captain scarlet, supercar or even Joe 90.
what some of you may not know is that years before Anderson created a show called ''Four Feather Falls''.
the show was sort of a British take on all the American western films. but even though the voice actors were British too, the accents they put on while playing the characters was so good you would think they were Americans themselves.
the show revolves around a cowboy called tex tucker who received 4 magic feathers from a native chief called 'Kalamakooya'.
2 to make his dog (dusty) and his horse (rocky) talk. and two more that gave him self firing guns.
heres an episode from youtube.

i don't supose you want to know this bt Ray Barrett who voices John Tracy on THUNDERBIRDS also does a VERY GOOD voice for the Duchess Of Royston in The Duchess Assignment episode

Ray Barret has sadly passed away. Voiced John Tracy and the Hood plus various characters for Thunderbirds and did work on Stingray as well. Rest in Peace.

Ah, yes, I was reading about that this morning. The passing of yet another voice actor - one who, as far as I know, was an incredible voice artist. From John Tracy to The Hood, from Lovegrove in Vault Of Death to The Duchess Of Royston, Ray Barrett was truly one of the highlights of the Thunderbirds cast! In his passing, earlier than I could ever have predicted, I'll admit, we've lost one of the best possible talents of the 20th Century. Rest In Peace, Old Fellow! Warm Regards As Always, MRHloco

Sad news indeed Ray Barret was a fantastic voice artist, when you compare his different voices. He was Australian I believe and I no a number of them are voice artists as they are great at doing, American and English accents, without having the cost of so many different voice actors. AS mentioned, it's a real shame. Shane Rimmer, (Scott) Matt Zimmerman (Alan) and David Graham (Brains) are all still with us i believe

I always presumed Thunderbirds was set in 2065 as well i have every reason to believe this aswell as i happen to own "The Complete Book of THUNDRBIRDS" by Chris Bentley... at one point the book says "the world of 2065 is one that thrives on remarkable engineering project and technological innovation" also it happen to provide birthdates of the main characters as thus:- Jeff Tracy... 2nd January 2009 Scott Tracy... 4th April 2039 John Tracy... 8th October 2040 Virgil Tracy... 15th August 2041 Godon Tracy... 14th February 2043 Alan Tracy... 12th March 2044 Brains... 14th November 2040 Lady Penelope... 24th December 2039 Parker 30th May 2013 Tin Tin... 20th June 2043 okay enough of that... recently i purchased the complete series of Thunderbirds from HMV for £20... a darn good price if you ask me. well this has made me think of 3 of my favourite episodes of the series, which are:- Trapped in the Sky - yes the first episode of the series which introduces International Rescue... i especially love the way they pull off the rescue of the Fireflash by using the high speed elevator cars so they can land the air craft with the landing gear up after the hood has planted a bomb in the undercarriage of the aircraft. Terror in New York City - i love the storyline to this as it near enough be impossible to move The Empire State Building in this day and age and the beginning of the episode when Scott electro magnetically wipes the take off footage from the rescue zone that Ned Cook (who ironically ends up underneath the wreckage of The Empire State Building) has been covering and Thunderbird 2 being hit by missiles launched from the USS Sentinel. Sun Probe - yet another fantastic episode when the Sun Probe is on a direct collision course with the sun and Thunderbirds 2 and 3 are sent to rescue it with Thunderbird 3 being successful but in itself having the retro rockets fail and heading towards the sun while Virgil and Brains in the transmitter truck are able to rescue Tunderbird 3 with a little help from Braman. also the feature films Thunderbirds Are Go! and Thunderbird 6 show some of Derek Meddings finest work with Sky Ship 1 crashing on the missile base (Thunderbird 6) and Zero X crashing into the evacuated town of craigsville (Thunderbirds Are Go!).

The things is though I have an annual which states that IR's first mission was in the 2020s (of course said annual was made before the 00s revival, if it could be called that). I'll dig it up somday... Which reminds me, a number of months back I bought a Terrahawks annual.

I've heard Gerry Anderson disliked John Tracey. I just find it confusing why. Afer all he did create him. Does any one have an ideas why he does?

I've heard Gerry Anderson disliked John Tracey. I just find it confusing why. Afer all he did create him. Does any one have an ideas why he does? I think it was just the fact that he was stuck up in Thunderbird 5 for the majority of the series, and there was little story potential that could be generated from that. Perhaps if the writers had alternated John with Alan for space station duty (as they did in one episode) a little more, he'd be a more popular character.

Back in 2000 when Thunderbirds was coming back on Tv, he was on CBBC being interviewed and when he was giving the lowdown on the characters he admited he didn't like John and it was his idea that he was stuck on Thunderbird 5 throughout the show. so perhaps there was a different reason Chris

Needless to say, I absolutely love the shows of Gerry Anderson. Been a fan of it for a short period but I enjoy them none the less. Captain Scarlet is my favorite of them.

This thread needs to be revived.
Today, I got The Complete Series of Thunderbirds for Christmas. Best Gift Ever. So far I've watched Pit of Peril and Trapped in the Sky. Out of these two, my favourite is Trapped in the Sky. I love the Elevator Cars! I'm excited to watch the next episode, City of Fire, after seeing Mike Delamar's work!
EDIT: City of Fire is my (current) favourite episode. It blows Trapped in the Sky out of the water. Such amazing fire scenes!

Anyone ever see this series? Star Fleet. It wasn't Anderson's, but you surely see the inspiration (duh)
I thought this was better than "Terrahawks" personally.

Just thought I'd point this out here: I saw a fantastic documentary about the man called Mr. Thunderbird online a couple of days ago, and on TV yesterday they played Thunderbirds Are Go (which I watched again; so much fun).
