BTW, dunno if this has been said, but Thunderbirds are now being showed on BBC2 at 11:00am every weekday. Oh, BTW. Gerry Anderson shows rock, especially Thunderbirds, Stingray and Captain Scarlet (has that show been mentioned yet?).
EDIT-Anyone know anything about this?:

EDIT-Anyone know anything about this?: Yes, in the 1980's, ITC made these complation movies for the American market, they were basically two episodes stuck together with added music and new opening and end titles, in the case of other series, four episodes were used, a list of the movies and which episodes they contained is below Thunderbirds to the Rescue - Trapped in the Sky & Operation Crash Dive Thunderbirds in Outer Space - Sun Probe & Richocet Countdown to Disaster - Terror in New York City & Atlantic Inferno The Incredible Voyage of Stingray - Stingray, Plant of Doom, Countdown & The Master Plan Invaders from the Deep - Hostages of the Deep, Emergency Marineville, The Big Gun & Deep Heat Captain Scarlet Vs The Mysterons - The Mysterons, Winged Assassin, Seek & Destroy & Attack on Cloudbase Revenge of the Mysterons from Mars - - Shadow of Fear, Lunarville 7, Crater 101, Dangerous Rendezvous The Amazing Adventures of Joe 90 - The Most Special Agent, Splashdown, Attack of the Tiger & Artic Adventure

It's stupid they couldn't have those stories in their original individual episode forms. They cut out a lot of footage from those, especially a few bits from my favourite Thunderbirds episode 'Trapped In The Sky'. That had my favourite rendition of the Thunderbirds theme, when Scott is launching Thunderbird 1 for the first time.

Thanks for that link stuart7, although it's possible the announcer was mistaken about the show being set in 2000 (he didn't mention the reason why Fireflash couldn't put down its undercarriage-a bomb). EDIT-Anyone know anything about this?: Yes, in the 1980's, ITC made these complation movies for the American market, they were basically two episodes stuck together with added music and new opening and end titles, in the case of other series, four episodes were used, a list of the movies and which episodes they contained is below Thunderbirds in Outer Space - Sun Probe & Richocet Countdown to Disaster - Terror in New York City & Atlantic Inferno I've got those two movies on a video with Scott and Thunderbird 1 on the cover (and coincidentally, the video was number 1 in a series). I wondered why it had that typewriter opening instead of the normal (superior) one we're used to (i meant by typewriter was that there was this blue screen with white letters crolling by (I think) and you saw these red letters being typed up). Has anyone noticed BTW that the rendition of the Thunderbirds theme in the opening and end credits from episode one are slightly different from those later in the series? Anyway, what's everyone's favourite episode of Thunderbirds. Mine would have to be Vault of Death (which I think was the first ep I ever saw, it could easily have been the second Fireflash ep). The launching of Thunderbirds 1+2, seeing the London Underground, and Lady Penelope's driving! ( I Laughed at that today seeing it on BBC2) Parker (after Lady Penelope drives FAB1 through a farm gate): One of M'lady's shortcuts. BTW, sometimes I wonder how Thunderbird 4 managed to get out of that rubble when The Empire State building collapsed on top of it in the one hwere Thunderbird 2 gets shot at (drat the US Navy, TB2 is my fave craft!). Anyone got any suggestions?

Also in 'Countdown to Disaster' look at the white text which is scrolling up in the background on the opening titles you'll see such phrases as "Red, Green, Blue, Captain Scarlet Lives!" "Troy loves Phones" & my personal favorite "Brains is the illegitimate son of Howdy Doody"

Captain Scarlet rocks, I really like it, I watch 1 episode and I don't get bored, which is good.
By the way for Aussies like me, Captain Scarlet is on ABC2, on sundays at 3pm in the afternoon.
I'll give every episode I've seen so far, 10/10.
By the way, did anyone notice the 1st and 2nd episodes were made by a different production company?

Anyone heard of this short (yet classic) Anderson oddity that I'm currently hooked on? ufoseries.com/guide/index.htmlDon't get me wrong - I ought to go see Thunderbirds again, seeing as it's one of those shows I see once every now and then, and forget about, etc. But for a first-time live action series (intended for the kiddies) using traditional models and SFX, the depth of UFO is incredibly universal and very dark. Characters are very three dimensional and are given burdens upholding the top-secrecy of the organization SHADO. Their main goal is to find and track down aliens from an unknown planet in need of human organs traveling in UFO's. The premise is a little cheap for some, but it grows on you quite quickly as the show progresses. The music from Barry Gray is extremely top-notch as well (listen to the Main theme and tell me that's not catchy! ). Real shame it lasted 26 eps (a whole season), and despite the fact that I'm only a fraction through it myself, do go and see it for yourselves.

It's not by Gerry Anderson, but here's what a popular Science-Fiction series would look like, had he produced it.
The final scene after the trio go through the portal is hiilarious.

I hope that isn't fake, it looked so real. I wonder if that was what was in the works before new Captain Scarlet came along, and why Thunderbirds is now referred to as "Calssic Thunderbirds" on Carlton's website, although that was down to the movie, and moreover, is it possible the movie tanked plans for this CGI Thunderbirds (and why was Scott only in that trailer, where's Thunderbird 2?!)

'I'm the general, I want it to spin!' Anyways...have a peek at this: You'll need sharp eyes to investigate the following. I can't tell, but I'm wondering if a younger version of David Mitton might be in one of the crew/animatronic prep scenes. The clip apparently came from an Orwellian-sounding 'Central Order of Information' newsreel. The Making of Thunderbirds - (COI)

Nice vids guys!
Well, i'm ordering Thunderbirds (Mega/Complete) series. I was also hoping for Stingray, but to no avail.
I've seen a making of thunderbirds vid on youtube somewhere. I'll fetch the link.

Did anyone watch Gerry Anderson night on BBC4 Thursday night? Well, apart from showing a few episodes of 'Thunderbirds' and 'Captain Scarlet', they showed a programme called 'Stingray: The Reunion Party'. When I first saw this on Teletext, I thought it was just going to be a reunion of the cast, but I was wrong. It was, in fact, a brand new episode (one-off, mind) formed by old linking material which was once used to promote international sales of the programme. This was created as far back as 1965, it was amazing, I tell you. Gerry Anderson had compiled it, especially for the occasion. Long live Thunderbirds and Stingray, Gerry Anderson's two best shows.

I am a casual Thunderbirds/Captain Scarlet fan. I wonder if anyone else remembers this piece of TV gold. It's a funny public information film where Penelope's chauffeur doesn't pay his road tax and she cuts his strings off. It's also a message from the DVLA telling you all to pay your road tax otherwise your strings will be cut off; splendid clip.
