Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is pretty cool...it's on free-to-air here in Australia.
erm, my favourites usually come and go and at the moment there Bleach, Fruits Basket and Honey & Clover. But all time favourites would have to be Studio Ghibli works.

I have a great deal of Anime favorites. Gundam (UC, maybe a little AU), Digimon, Dragonball (no GT whatsoever), S-Cry-Ed, Cowboy Bebop, and Ronin Warriors, but a real stand out to me is Super Dimensional Fortress MACROSS, better known as the first chapter of the Robotech series. Next year sees the release of an accurate English Dubbing by ADV films. Some links of interest: www.macrossworld.com/macross/_main_menu.htmwww.robotech.com/

There's an article on Steamboy in this month's Judge Dredd Megazine, if anyone's interested. Steamboy rocks so hard. I seriously urge you all to watch it ...however, be warned! The film released in theaters (and on PPV) is a shoddy edited version, with shockingly vital scenes edited out (as is the case with most good films)... If you want to see it and really appreciate the genius of Otomo (The director), go rent or purchase the Director's Cut DVD of Steamboy. You will not be disappointed. (Many articles say how their author's were confused and left irratable after watching Steamboy in theaters...I've seen both versions, and I am not suprised why they thought so. Go with the Director's Cut.)

I've just finished watching the first series of Slayers. It took 5 or 6 episodes to get into it, but in the end I really took a liking to it

I was (and still am) a fan of Pokemon. I enjoyed the three films I saw of it too (I haven't seen the others). The old series was undoubtedly the best, but then it started to drag a bit.

I like the following animes:
Digimon (mainly the first two seasons, season 3 was kinda odd, 4 was a bit naff) Cardcaptors Pokemon Beyblade (I'm going to be taken the mick out of now aren't I) Yu-Gi-Oh
I used to watch Sailormoon, Martian Sucessor Nadesico (at a club at school) and an obscure anime called Akazukin Cha cha. It was about a girl who was a witch who had two friends and whenever trouble reared its head she'd transform into the Magical Princess.
I don't like Last Exile, this is meant to be a series set in the future and yet they have zeppelins and retro looking aircraft from the WWII. Come on people, this is the future, you're meant to have sleek, futuristic aircraft. I prefer seeing police boxes travelling through time and space.

Yeah Pokemon was Ok to start with, but it's get boring. The same thing alway happen to the characters, e.g. Team Rocket get blown into the air, Brock fails to find a girl and so on. Plus the show really has no ending, it alway to be continued. I'm a fan of digimon, but some of the episodes are somewhat awful. Mstnoodle I noticed the same with Pokemon, too, Mstnoodle. I used to love the original series, though. I'd say it started to go downhill after the middle of the Johto Series. I've always wondered whether or not the show will close.

I've been a fan of Pokemon for many years, but I agree around the end of the Johto episodes, everything started going downhill. The main Pokemon fanbase think the Advanced episodes with the removal of Misty and the addition of May and Max are a great improvement on what was already a successful show, but for some reason I don't enjoy it as much as I once did. If anything, Team Rocket should have been removed, and some new (and better) villains introduced. Sure there's the odd stand out episode now and again, but nothing as good as the early days. If you ask me, the show reached it's peak when Ash won the Orange League, and should have ended there.
There's 450+ episodes and 8 movies in the bag so far, and the show still looks set to run for a good while yet!

Definately we need a new full time bad team (and not have them be beaten by the good guys everytime.)

I agree, Chris. Definately we need a new full time bad team (and not have them be beaten by the good guys everytime.) The last time I watched Poke'mon (which was not long ago), there were new enemies, I think their names were Butch and Cassady. They were torturing Raikou, one of the legendary dogs. There was also a new trainer, but I didn't catch his name. He was with May, I think. Everytime I watch Poke'mon nowadays, I always think: 'I've missed a lot during the years!' and it makes me feel quite old. I've begun to collect Poke'mon cards again, just for the sake of knowing about the new Poke'mon which have appeared. I've only liked Poke'mon because of the creatures, y'see.

That's the Pokemon Chronicles series..... that's a part of a 3-part special which I have on DVD. The trainers are Kenta/Jimmy (Gold) Marina (Crystal) and (I forget Jap name)/Jackson. Full synopsis here.

Yesterday I bought a used videotape for 1 dollar of a series that looked interesting, Urusei Yatsura. I had no idea what it was (although I do know ^^), but I watched it and I have to say that it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Also, Slayers looks like a good series, I might have a look at it soon.
