So we've had story building games that add a few words at a time, but what would happen if we could go a little further? Let's go ahead and see what we can come up with. the limit is one sentence at a time. Let us begin.
Many Years ago, in 1924, there was a Fish and Chip shop in the Yorkshire Dales.

It was not very big or prestigious, but its charm was undeniably great.

It was rather humorously called ''The Devil's Prawn'', due to it's use of the battered shellfish on the menu.

The prawns served in the shop were mined locally in the local prawn mines.

The miners would come home in the evening via the small narrow gauge railway that serviced the mines, up to the shop where the owner would give them the benefit of enjoying the fruits of their labour, for half the usual price.

The little engines were very kind too, always curtius to the humble passenger's.

All three companies replied on one another to stay in business, something the shop owner knew all too well and was secretly worried about.

The railway was falling under hard times, and without it, his shop would close.

The owner's name was Warner Eustis, a veteran of the great war.

Although Warner was a very kind man, he also didn't stand for any nonsense, and several of the children who used to come into his shop were secretly a little bit scared of him.

His wife, Alice was much more easygoing than her husband.

As a result of this personality quirk, she was always popular with the kids.

But, under her cheery demeanor, was a dark, twisted secret, the likes of which could ruin the reputation of her husband and his business, and would rock the very foundation of the community to its core.

Alice had kept this secret from Warner for over thirty years, and she couldn't imagine that he would ever find out.

The Devil's Prawn's biggest rival in the town was "The Eel of Life," Owned by two brothers, Wybert and Osbert Pickle, formerly from East London.

The Pickle brothers couldn't be more different, with the seemingly upstanding and honest Wybert having once lived in a Monastery and Osbert having been in prison for corruption, fraud, multiple homicide and illegally grazing his pet goat on the local common during a particular bad winter in 1906.

The multiple homicides had not been deliberate however as older brother Osbert, though greedy and cunning, was by no means as cruel as to purposely kill , though he was still able to con the younger and more naive Wybert into leaving his life as a monk to run this, Osbert's new scheme, a chippy that sold the jellied eels of old London rather than battered fish. (It appears that I've accidentally broken my one sentence a day rule. To make up I'll try not to post anything tomorrow. Fair is fair after all. )

Osbert followed along with Wybert's scheme, thoroughly convinced he was redeeming himself by serving the people of the Yorkshire Dales, unaware of the profit his brother seeked, or of the brewing storm to come.

Alice's kettle whistled for her, and the dear woman ran over, a tray of those famous battered prawns in hand, to serve to the customers.
