I had the idea for this thread for a while now, so I decided to create it. The idea is to create a story in the style of recent DirecTV commercials. Here is a montage of them for an example:
So, basically, the first person posts their scenario, and ends it with "Don't..." like in the commercials (i.e., like in the final example, "Don't have your house explode!"), and the next poster continues the story on from there (i.e., from the previous example, "When your house explodes, you call the fire department. ..."). Then the poster after that continues from there in the same fashion, and so on.
Oh, and if your narration doesn't have a clear meaning as to what's happening, you can add what's happening after the line. Like in the second example:
When you get angry, you go blow off steam. (You go out and play racquetball)
When you go blow off steam, accidents happen. (The ball hits you in the eye)
So, let's start:
When your cable box stops working, you call tech support.
When you call tech support, you can't understand the tech support agent.
When you can't understand the tech support agent, you take matters into your own hands. (You unplug the cable box, pick it up, and you throw it against the wall!)
When you take matters into your own hands, you break something old and valuable. (The cable box slams into an antique glass vase, and it breaks)
When you break something old and valuable, you build a time machine.
When you build a time machine, you land on an old movie set. (Specifically, the set from TATMR where the well on the Island of Sodor was filmed)
And when you land on an old movie set, you get chased by Alec Baldwin and the director.
Don't get chased by Alec Baldwin and the director!
