I've got my English resit result tomorrow, as I've said a few times. I've failed it twice, and have no reason to suppose I've past it this time. Good luck, all those who are awaiting GCSE results. I know I'll certainly need good luck tomorrow.

Don't mean to sound like Percy, but what is a GCSE?

It's a series of examinations sat by 16 years olds in their last year of secondary school. They are vital if one wants to go to college. The abbreviation GCSE stands for 'General Certificate of Secondary Education.' They are usually taken between May and June, the results being released in August. They used to be called O Levels, the 'O' being short for Ordinary Levels, just like the A Levels (sat at 18) are known as Advanced Levels.

Ah yes, I remember my GCSEs all those years ago.... 4, to be exact.
Don't get too nervous about anything - remeber, bad GCSE results are not really the end of the world. It seems like these days the only ones you really need are Maths and English. The other subjects are only important if you're going on to study them at college/university, but if you're going to do that, then you have to be already great at the subject anyway.

I have the results of two GCSEs tomorrow - ICT and RE (short course). I'm only entering Year 11 now, but we did these two courses a year early, to free up extra time in Year 11 to concentrate on the remaining courses.

Got mine tomorrow as well. I'm not too nervous to be honest. In order to get into my Performing Arts Course at College, I only need a few Ds. And for most subjects, I'm already on A's and B's so its all good for me.
Can't wait to get into College now! Just want to get my results to confirm that I will there next year.
Oh, and good luck to everyone receiving their results tomorrow!! ;D

Well, all I can say for my English GCSE result is: "YEEEEEEEEES!"
I passed it with a 'C' grade, third time lucky. In the words of James: "I've done it! I've done it!"

Both improvements on the marks in my mocks.

Yay =) I passed more than I failed, and am now a good for nothin' [glow=red,2300]STUDENT[/glow] My passes:
English - B English Lit - A History - C R/Studies - C (not bad for an agnostic) B/Studies - C
Fails - Maths, Science (was only a few marks off though..) Food Tech (not had a proper teacher for the year, and the grades made up of coursework and we've had no help so 98% of the class failed and the schools getting into trouble for it)
On the whole I think I did rather well!

Don't really care about PE or ICT, but pleased to have got a B in maths, as I was having trouble with it before. But I'm quite pleased overall.

I got B's in English, English Literature and History, and a C in Geography. I'm really chuffed as it was the first time that I have been in a school situation for the first time in 8 years.

I remember when I did my GCSEs all those years ago, I did rotten. Maybe rotten isn't the right word, so I'll call it dreadful.
I got a load of Fs, a few Gs and failed one which was Spanish.
5 years on, and I've already had a distinction in my first diploma in media and most likely heading down that road again for my national diploma or a merit. Mind you, I didn't go to a very good school and alot of the Teachers didn't teach very well either.
By year 11, I'd practically given up with school and got bored of it so I didn't bother trying to learn. But yet look where I am now, it's amazing.
