Singing, acting, anything. If you've been involved in the performing arts, we want to hear about it.
I was a member of Sing NSW for 7 years (soprano, tenor and bass). I was there when they performed at the Paralympic Opening Ceremony in 2000 (a great honour for me). I was the one in the yellow and black wheelchair.
I've performed in the theatre 3 times. I was in the 97/98 versions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at Laycock Street Theatre in North Gosford (chorus).
Right now, I'm in the Wyong Youth Theatre version of "Joseph" and the opening performence is tomorrow. The Jacob Diary (in the Independant Works section) is about my experiences in that production and I don't think I need to tell you which part I'm playing (Jacob is Joseph's father).
How about you?

Man, I've done too much.
When I was 17, I was involved in a professional production of a largely-forgotten play called Martin Night (there's a review on the Internet somewhere - unfortunately, it's the worst one). Since then, I've done a lot of amateur and student plays. My ultimate aim is to go to drama school (when I've saved up enough money, that is).
I've also dabbled in stand-up comedy, but I didn't like it much. It's great when you have a good gig, but when you have a bad one it's a real knock. Plus I found it really stressful - it's one thing to make your friends laugh when you're just chatting, but it's quite another to get up on stage and make a load of hardened comedy enthusiasts laugh for fifteen minutes. And that's just a beginner gig. I have nothing but admiration for comedians who've really made a go of it. It's harder than acting, that's for sure.

I've always wanted to be involved in the performing arts, unfortunately I have a very low level of self-confidence when I finally go to the auditions and sometimes back out. Other times though, I don't like the productions my college does either. Like this year, I attended (and subsequently left before it finished.) auditions for 'The Martian Chronicles'. Simply stated, I didn't want my first gig in acting to be science fiction. (Another factor was that there were going to be ABSOLUTELY no props or sets in this production either.)

I am currently studying Year 2 of Performing Arts at my college, and am in a singing group called 'Curtain Up!!' My show with them is in four weeks' time. We do various shows for charities, such as those for leukaemia, cancer and all the rest of it.

I'm very involved with drama in my school. I even would like to make a career of acting. I've been in about 5 plays now and I'm taking my second year of drama class. I was on our school improv team for one year and have participated in a program called "Children's Theater." In "Children's Theater" we parody classic children's stories and preform them for kids. I've done two plays with them.

I'm taking theater arts this year in school, and I've been in my school's productions of "Little Shop of Horrors" and "Grease". Little Shop was the most fun to do.

I used to be involved with ballet classes from the time I was 7 till I turned 12. I eventually quit because I lost interest in it, and the instructor was really stuck-up. Now I am currently involved in a choir called Women's Ensemble. It's for the most advanced in women's voices. I made it in this year, and I'm more than happy!

I'm in a play next week. We're doing Lady Windemere's Fan and I'm playing Mr Dumby. I quite like my costume, even if it does make me look like a young Fat Controller. Oh, and the actress playing Lady Plymdale seems to have mistaken my flirting-as-part-of-the-character for actual flirting.

Today, I found out that my school's drama club is performing The Music Man as its spring production. I might audition for a part, dunno if it'll be for Harold Hill, though.

Yeah, I do Performing Arts First Diploma at college. Things are going quite well and my performnace has imrpoved quite a lot since I first joined. The only thing I don't like about my course are some people in my class often seem like they can't be bothered. Aside from that, its going well and my aim is to get to the National Diploma for next year.
I was also in our College's modernised production of a certain Scottish play which name I can't say (its bad luck). I played the part of Banquo's son Fleance, which was quite a good experience.
My ambition is to be an actor and work in the Performing Arts and its something that I'm currently working really hard towards.

I've done a bit of acting outside the forum.
Although I havn't been in any shows or perfomed at any theatres, I belong to a London based Arts club who get together once a month and have a workshop session on any form of media I.E. Drama, Music, Writing etc. Weather or not it'll help me achieve a carear in acting, I don't know. But speaking for myself, I'd rather stick to engineering for a living.

A little update, auditions for The Music Man are this Thursday, and I'm seriously considering auditioning for the part of Marcellus Washburn.

I do the odd bit of acting for my local ameteur theatre company, most notably pantos. As far as other performing arts go, I've played violin since I was 7 (that's 12 years), I play regularly with my county's youth orchestra and I'm currently doing a music course at uni.

I used to play the viola for my school orchestra, and I was in my high school's fall play "Rehearsal for Murder." Right now I am involved with the my school's musical "Fiddler on the Roof." I got the role of Nachum the Beggar.
