Do you go to any exhibitions/conventions. If so, which ones do you go to and where do you go?
I recently went to the Memorabillia exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham, and might go again this year.

Tomorrow I have to go into downtown Chicago for a 'design symposium' at my school's Chicago campus (I go to Orland Park's campus). It's an all day event where lots of artsy-fartsy things are going on, like lots of art vendors (Macromedia, Adobe, etc.) are going to give speechs and such. Our juniors and seniors are getting portfolio reviews, and we freshies are having fun XD
I'm looking forward to taking the Metra home, honestly XD

I've been to some live steamer conventions. Those were fun. Oh, and Elizabeth, just think, you won't have to take the written final for Color and Composition.

Well, the design symposium was good, except Adobe bailed on us ^^' Also, while I enjoyed the various seminars I attended, only one of them really caught my attention enough to get me thinking - the use of Photoshop and Illustrator to produce quality prints in building designs and brocures.
I did have a blast though, the ride into Chicago was full of silliness in the form of the guys in the back of our bus XD And I won in a raffle a $25 gift card for Barnes & Noble (I sadly did not win the AppleMac laptop XD), and I watched the L's come and go (L = Elevated Railline), and took in the sights. The best part? Like Aidan said, no Colour and Comp final for me XD

At the beginning of March, I'm going to the Shining Only convention, in Japan. Shining Force III is presumably going to be the main focus, since 2007 marks the 10th anniversary of that game. Unfortunately, this is going to be the last Shining Only convention they're ever going to hold, so its a good thing I got my tickets. This should be a good place to pick up a few dojins

I went down to the RYA Dinghy Show this weekend at Alexandra Palace, London. Its always nice to go on the pilgrimage every couple of years but not something to do every year. This time there were fewer chandlers and more boats which meant that you couldn't get the same discounts because they weren't trying to compete as much. You can usually count on seeing at least one celebrity and this year was no exception, I was walking through the RYA area when I saw Dame Ellen MacArthur, I was tempted to talk to her, but she was deep in conversation with someone else. When I next looked, guess what she had gone, pitty because I'd like to have talked to her about Ogston which is where I have sailed for the past 12 years and where she first started.

I went to the Kendal Model railway Exhibition and managed to get a few more 0 gauge roling stock for my small collection. Was great to see many layouts that had appeared in the Railway Modeller magazine there.

Upon joining Clowns International, it looks like I'll attend their convention in Butlin's, Bognor Regis.

If I had known about this thread's existence, I would have commented about this when it happened! Back in January, I went to the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, NY, where they had a Chuck Jones exhibit. It was fantastic- there were tons of sketches and pencil tests and drawings that Jones did, and a mini-doc with some shorts playing, and it gave a great insight into one of the greatest animators of all time. I took some pictures but they yelled at me not to, so I'm not sure I can ever share them online. If it ever comes to a museum near you, definitely worth a visit.
