Did anyone here used to watch Code Lyoko? I sure did.
The show had a pretty simplistic formula: Group of kids find an old supercomputer housing an evil AI named XANA, who unleashes attacks from towers on a world called Lyoko to the real world, they find an AI named Aelita who holds the keys to Lyoko, kids travel to Lyoko, fight XANA, fight his monsters, deactivate tower, Retrun to the past, win. They try to materialize Aelita into the real world for about 26 episodes, then when they finally do, they find out the origins of XANA and Aelita as well as their creator.
You would think with a cut and paste formula, eggregious use of stock footage, and things like that, I'd have every reason to hate this show, but for some reason, I don't, in fact I like it!
The show has a catchy theme tune (Lyrics version is cheesy as heck, but instrumental version is AWESOME), a cool villain, and some interesting characters (sans Ulrich who I feel didn't really have much of a personality outside of being Yumi's love intrest)
My favorite characters are Odd and !XANA! William. Odd for having such an off kilter personality and XANA William because every time you saw him, he would do something totally bo$$
My only gripe is how several plots got sidetracked in the third season and the somewhat anticlimatic conclusion to the battle. Now I hear they are making a live action/CGI animation series called CODE LYOKO:EVOLUTION, due out in 2012. What I want to know is if it will be a reboot or if it will be a continuation.
