Norman
This machine is coloured red. Who often got hot in the head. He showered a hat. The owner was fat. The result? This engine sped!

The answer is a very rude James indeed!
This engine works along side another engine of his type. He was given an extra coach. Ballast trucks made him see sense at last, after becomming too conceited from respect.

Derek.
This character: - Is the 6th character to be a specific type of vehicle (not as in prototype, as in main function) - Is the 6th character to have a specific physical detail (ie. paintwork) - Is the 2nd character to have a name beginning with a specific letter (the first is also the same type of vehicle)
A bit cryptic this one, who is this?

There was a character on roads. Who stole some engines loads. He went under a bridge. Got wedged in like fish. Now a home to chickens, not toads!

I think it's Fergus
1) Is a big engine 2) came across as rude in his debut episode although he isn't usually a rude engine 3) Shares the same name as a comic relief character in a famous 80's TV programme (which was made into a film last summer but flopped at box office) also the surname of a real life celebrity who's featued in the British newspapers recently

Murdoch! My earlier post could have been Thomas but I hoped someone would have taken the more original view and had gone with Ferdinand.
This Character -Does not have a name, -Has appeared in the TV series, mostly. -Does not have a face -Is not made out of metal, plastic, stone, water, krypton or unobtainium.
