I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread for this already.
I got TF2 back in June, when Valve ported many of their games to Mac. Since then I've spent over 250 hours in game - a lot of them as the Spy (few kills are as satisfying as the backstab). Who else here plays one of the greatest online first-person shooters/war themed hat collecting game? And who is your favourite class? And why?

Oh man, I got this game as part of the Orange Box in February 2008, and it's still one of my favourites (Portal's good too). I'm surprised it's taken this long to be ported to the Macs. And favourite class. I'm gonna have to say engineer, mainly because of the assistance I can offer...and [small]easy sentry kills[/small].

I play it on the Xbox, mostly because I have no other choice. (My computer is useless crap from 2005 ) I'm just ticked off that Valve hasn't given us any updates yet. But still, it's much better than CoD. My favorite classes are definatly Sniper, Engi, and the SPAH! Just because they take some more skill to use. Also if you play on Xbox, check out this site: tf2xc.com

You know, I used to never play as Medic. But then that video came out and now he's my most used class. It's kind of funny now that I look back on it. That's not to say all of the classes aren't awesome, though.

I bought this a couple of months ago with The Orange Box on PS3. I also downloaded it yesterday on the PC. Despite my alleged play time of 2.3 hours, I haven't actually been able to play any games - it keeps freezing and never gets past the loading screen. Anyone else having these problems? However, I do like it when people mess with the gravity - it makes 2Fort so much easier!

I absolutely love TF2, it's a great game. I tend to play a mix of Sniper, Engineer and Heavy. I've gotten quite effective at sniping, but I hate those damn spies!

Hey, when in doubt start attacking your teammates. A little Spy checking usually takes care of anyone trying to sneak behind me, you just have to watch your back often. Although Dead Ringer Spies are harder to deal with.

I can usually spot spies from a fair distance, and many I've come across are stupid enough to 'disguise' themselves near enough to me that I can hear them, so I zoom back out and go spy checking.
There's always that one who can actually use the spy properly, though, and he's usually the sneaky blighter that catches me out!

Oh I've seen my share of those, trust me on that one. But that's part of the fun, there's no real way to actually master this game. You just have to respawn and just jump back in. Incidentally, I have managed to catch those good Spies while playing as Medic or Engineer. It's funny because I'm usually in the middle of supporting the team to notice.

Oh TF2, there are not enough words to describe how god-like it is. Love playing Scoot, for two reasons. One, his speed, and two, The Force a Nature. That thing's literally why I started playing TF2 a few years ago.

I'd first heard of TF2 back in 2008 or 9, when my Sci-fi club at high school kept talking about Portal and the Orange Box. I didn't know TF2 was a game; I thought it was some sort of movie, as the first glimpse I caught of it was a "Sparta" remix of Meet the Heavy. Then along came Gmod videos. It wasn't until 2010 I got Steam and tried it out. I've loved it ever since. Best game I've ever played.
And who doesn't love war-themed hat simulators?
