Before starting this thread, I had a good look through the various threads and couldn't find a thing on the bear from Darkest Peru. In fact, I wasn't sure where a thread involving him might go but eventually I settled for the Books Board. It is after all the original stories that have such brilliant charm and so forth. Well, what can possibly be said about Paddington? A polite, very good hearted but also determined bear from Darkest Peru with a deep fondness for marmalade. Someone who has an eye for begains, has a persistent stare when appropriate (stuffy salesmen in Barkridges can take a tip from him! ) and who, despite his desire to solve problems, will often end up in problems as a result. Brought to life on television several times, including the 1975 TV Series narrated by Sir Michael Horden. Has also been wonderfully brought to life by Stephen Fry on audiobook in recent years. And now anyone who has a fondness for this wonderful bear can discuss it here on SiF! Warm Regards As Always, Matthew (MRHloco)

After Chris mentioned it in the shoutbox just now I stumbled across this beautiful poster for the Paddington Bear film on IMDb. I withhold judgement on the film itself, but the poster is wonderful.
