Haha, he's proven to me in two back-to-back games that his team is that bit better than mine. I will get a win against you Halford! Even if I end up getting the wooden spoon! Besides Rhod, its only been two games yet...even my Knapford can get up there! (if I weren't the manager, admittenly, but still ). BTW, suggestion for when we next do this = Can we try and have mid-week league matches? Anything to shorten the length between games? I know its impatience, but I hate waiting that long for games

There wa an option to have 2 games a week rather than the one, but that halved the season length drastically. I suppose we can just keep challenging each other to friendlies or something as well, but that could get tired quickly. There is a league cup that can be created, if you want to go all FA on top of the EPL. Looks like it goes for a month. I'll set that up with Seeded draws so the 'good' teams play each other etc etc. That fixture list is as sollows: 2009-08-19 09:30 Tidmouth United FC - Ffarquhar Masons 2009-08-26 09:30 Ffarquhar Masons - Tidmouth United FC 2009-08-19 09:30 Wellsworth Wanderers - Salford Athletic 2009-08-26 09:30 Salford Athletic - Wellsworth Wanderers ... Aw boo... we don't get to play, Jimbob!

Haha, how on earth did that work out?! Was it four team limit or something? As for shorter league, I personally wouldn't mind it. Granting other peoples thoughts/opinions like. Plus, if we did have a shorter league means the quicker we can allow new teams to sign up in pre-seasons (which I assume is possible?)

I think it may be a preliminary round.

Haha, how on earth did that work out?! Was it four team limit or something? Not sure, I set it up to have all 6 teams and the rounds as seeded, maybe it's a bye or something. In any event, I've hit the postpone button for a 2 week break so that Davey, Rhod and myself don't fall behind in updating our teams over the duration.

Just in case anyone hasn't noticed, with the meeting attendee's back and sound on the forum, the league has now been enabled again and we are allowed to view our teams again. Matches presume on the 5th September.

Bit of news from my team, seeing as we have been wanting it ... Recently, we had to sack Odhrán Kinsella due to a recent team outing where he decided to drive whilst under influence. Luckily, no-one was hurt. Good news on the otherhand is that we have sucessfully signed Stuart Collins for the team, who despite his age should be a benefit to the club. Game wise, we are next playing an away game to Mons Patro Visé, who we are hoping to beat, so we can move up in the league. League right now:

Round 3 is over folks.
Tidmouth United vs Ffarquhar Masons: 1 - 1 AFC Knapford vs Salford Athletic: 2 - 0 Mons Patro Vise vs Wellsworth Wanderers: 4 - 1
After 3 consecutive league and cup wins, Tidmouth end Ffarquhar's prefect run with a draw. Wellsworth gets their first goal of the season, yet lose to a powerful MPV, who claim their first win. Knapford's win against Salford puts them on par with United and the Masons.

Just checked the scores myself, seems like i'll be getting the wooden spoon this year... Ah well. You wins some, you lose some. (In my case, you win nought and you lose.)

Can I just say I just realised these games are played at 9:30? Has this always been or is it just ignorance on my part that I've always assumed they've been played at 15:00?

Yep, ignorance on your part. To be precise, matches are played at 9.30am, Central European Time, in other words, 8.30 GMT. Even I didn't realise the time difference for some time.
Good luck to the teams tomorrow!
EDIT
Round 4 is over.
Salford Athletic - Mons Patro Vise: 0 - 3 Wellsworth Wanderers - Tidmouth United FC: 0 - 1 AFC Knapford - Ffarquhar Masons: 2 - 0
Knapford claim top spot on goal difference while Masons plummet down to 4th. MPV moves up to 3rd. Tidmouth, Wellsworth and Salford remain in 2nd, 5th and 6th.

Well, goal difference is same for Knapford and Tidmouth, but yeah. Maybe it's alphabetical? Very happy to have moved up on goal diff against you Rhod. Now we've got 4 games in a row to figure each other out, haha. Funny how the draws work, don't they? And to think, the press conferences could be explosive over the next few weeks as we build up a rivalry!

Really pleased with the win, with all due respect to Rhod' I know he put a lot into this game but remember the season is far from over...and you are still in the running... For the record, in case everyone has been noticing the press releases just for a heads up for everyone is that you get a small sum from your sponser for doing them so not are they not only fun to do (i loved the Rhod's rant and Clay giving him a mathematical lesson ;D) but they do benefit in a small way Thinking ahead, is there any chance we can get more teams into the league pre-season? I dunno, I'm sure there has to be some people on this forum who have an interest in football and would be able to enjoy this.

This is how it works Clay. You subtract the amounts of goals scored by goals conceded. Knapford has scored 7 goals for and 2 against, while Tidmouth have scored 6 against 1. Both are tied at 5. In such situations, the team with the more goals for gets the top spot.
We're on par on points you ninny! There is still 3 goals between us. But anyway, come Monday, I'll post my opinions on the coming matches in the press releases. The team is broke and I need the extra cash!

You know you love it. ;D That 3 goal lead in the goal difference could make or break our seasons. And I'll be well and truly poised to respond to any claims made on Monday as well as give my opinions on MPV's two new arrivals. I'm running low on moneys too after spending so much on one of them...

No seriously, I'm am BROKE! I'm down to 42,000! How on earth did you and JBD get enough money for those players with an income of 1,000,000 a week?

Jaysus, you have been training your players too hard man. Seriously. I've generally only got one or two players training at a time, and that's only if they're under 10 form and an important player in the squad. That's probably it, different priorities - you're going on the "improve who I've got" path as opposed to the "get better players" path we've chosen. I'm down to just under 100K now, and that's after training up two more players. I'm happy with my squad now, mind - I doubt I'll be doing any spending for a while.
