I was wondering if any forum members watch or are fans of this show.
I watch this show (Got "A Very Best Of" video of it somewhere) and its three films, in which I have all three of them on DVD. My favourite character is a toss-up between Jack Harper and Blakey but I think Blakey just wins by a whisker.
I'll also say that, despite being done up as the bad guy in the show, I feel sorry for Blakey; he's not really a bad fella, he's just trying to do his job. Still, at least he sometimes gets on his own back on Stan Butler and Harper so I can't really complain.
And, one last thing, the way Arthur treats Butler's sister, Olive, I'm surprised that Butler didn't jaw him by the seventh episode!

I enjoy On the Buses, it's an hilarious Sitcom with great characters.
I've got all Seven series' and all three films on DVD, although in the middle of the Seventh season they had to change Blakey's character a bit because of Reg Varney leaving the show.
With Arthur and Oliver, it amazes me that didn't get divorced the day after they got married. It's Stan I sometimes feel sorry for, he has all these plans to take a Bird home and the family get in the way. As for Blakey, if he was really going to fire Butler he would have done that with the first thing he did wrong.
On the whole, a very well written series that should still be airing on the telly because it's so funny and plus things were a whole lot simpler to run a Bus than these days.

I can't resist watching On the Buses either. The show itself is wrapped firmly around the ime period like a limpet and has the sauciness of the Carry On Films as well, particularly in Mutiny On the Buses where all the bus drivers and ladies strip off their undergarments to wind up Blakey.
Blakey is overall my favourite character, but it's Stephen Lewis's acting, gormless laughs and falling victim to Stan and Jack that made him an icon on the show. A one-off could possibly suffice, albeit satiricly centered around Bo-jo's useless pleas to scrap the bendy bus but like Only Fools and Horses and LOTSW the elder times were better when the actors were in their glorydays.

something that i don't think has been mentioned here is that Reg Varney (Stan) died this month, I know he had been living abroad along time.
He will be missed :-(

If "On The Buses" was ever granted a revival (Please no!), these two would be very good candidates for Stan and Jack...

My, My! I love "On The Buses" The comedic value between Stan, Jack and Blakey was fantastic! Blakey thought he'd get them! But he never did and the banter between Stan and Jack was funny as well. My favourite all time scene must be the fire drill scene where the foam machine just over flows and causes havoc in the depot. (Fun fact about that, Stephen Lewis (Blakey) started choking in that scene due to swallowing a load of bubbles) I can also do an Blakey Impression. Which if you ever meet me I will do for you

very sad new today. One of the very best actors from the show, Stephen Lewis, has sadly died today . He was truly fantastic as Blakey and he did a wonderful job as Barry in 'Last of the Summer Wine'. I always loved the way he always shouted at Stan and Jack every time something went wrong. I even loved his laugh as well. We also mustn't forget his role in 'Oh Doctor Beeching' as Harry Lambert the signalman. www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-33914037Goodbye Stephen Lewis. R.I.P .

I read up that Stephen was suffering from an illness and had to leave Summer wine because of it. Also it was the Character 'Smiler' or Clem Hemingway (the Characters real name) that Stephen played. The fellow who plays Barry is Mike Grady man who does The Earl Robert Noramby.
I first remember seeing Stephen playing Blakey in Generation game but didn't see him in on the buses till some years ago on youtube. He was a great actor and will truly be missed. "Bye-Bye Blakey!" RIP Stephen Lewis.

Amidst this difficult week with what's been going on in the world, namely the conflict in Ukraine, Anna Karen the last surviving member of the initial cast of On the Buses had tragically passed away: www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-60490252Others may also have known her for playing Aunt Sal in EastEnders, but I think for many she'll always be remembered as Olive. RIP Anna Karen.
