To Celebrate the release of Animal Crossing City Folk. I've decided to open a thread to discuss this great series.

I have/had doubts about AC since the start to be honest. The first one pecked at my interest and I was happy to see that NES games and Nintendo related material were chucked into the furniture selection so I took a run through it. My Animal Crossing town consists of:
- Four fully upgraded houses - No weeds (Thanks to Wisp) - An Orchard - and Octavian! (The coolest AC character ever)
As for Wild World, I have too much stuff to go through to say anything. My cousin picked me and him up City Folk so I'll have to give it a run through.

Everyone knows the one for the Gamecube is the best one, though I would like to buy the one N64 one(Japan only, sadly).
My sister actually owns the game, got in 2005, but my brother and I loved it long before she did. It is probably my most played game besides Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

I'll be honest. When I first saw screenshots of Animal Crossing and had no idea what it was, I didn't like it. I thought it looked too kiddy. Then I found out more about it and was amazed, and started wondering why it wasn't released in the UK. August 2004, and we received the good news from Nintendo Official Magazine: it was coming.
From that point on, I've loved it. A truly wonderful game that you can really get into.
Last year, after I had left school, I spent 3 or 4 months lounging around the house. Boredom soon set in. Then I decided to play Wild World again, after a very long time. I soon became addicted, and started playing every single day. That defined my summer, and made AC:WW my favourite in the series.
My sister got City Folk for Christmas, and while it is good, I just can't get as into it as with WW.

(blows dust off)
I didn't get into Animal Crossing until early 2006 after my parents bought it for the GameCube. I played it for a bit, but wasn't invested with it until a few years later once after I got my GBA that I can connect it with. Fell out of it again and never got into the series until recently after my mom came over for Christmas 2021 when she had her Switch Lite with the game. It was when I invested in getting the Switch and got the game myself and loved it. I use it mainly to travel to other islands called treasure islands and after getting stuff, I host a free event.
