Yeah, what the heck. I might as well include him.
Crash Bandicoot was one of my favourite VG platforming series...it was actually the one that got me into VG platforming in the first place. Whilst some people may have Mario or Sonic, I had Crash.
Thoughts?

What? No Crash discussion going on? Shameful. I love the Crash games. Crash #1 was the first game I ever had for the PlayStation, back in '98. I never even used to be able to beat Papu Papu! Then later I was stuck for a long time on the second boulder level. Ahh, memories, memories... I have finished every game entirely except for Crash Bash (impossible game to beat!) and Wrath Of Cortex. I mean, is it even possible to get gold/platinum relics for every level in that one? Well, maybe if one bothered trying, but the time trials just aren't the same as in Crash 3, which could be kind of fun, although some exceptions to me would be the diving levels and later jet ski levels. The Crash series is just ruined now. Sure, Mind Over Mutant is a lot better than Titans, as there is now at least some platforming to be done and a bit more general variety in gameplay, but it's still not a real Crash game. In fact, I've even grown bored of Mutant and stopped after the Evil School section I think. I never remember growing tired of the classic Crash games. Crash Twinsanity was actually pretty great, but could have been so much more. In fact, it was going to be. Go to Crash Mania to have a look if you're a big Crash fan. crashmania.net/Any other fans here?

I'm a crash bandicoot fan. Crash Team racing was the best. I unlocked all the characters (even T Tropy who was hard to get)
I agree with the new Crash series it has gone downhill. I just don't like the new campy Cortex. Make him more villanous than camp. I'm glad they brought N Brio back for Mind Over Mutant (which I have completed) it was interesting to see lots of different animation but Tiny (who was one of my fave characters back in the day) wasn't in I thought he would be after he came back in Titans (loved his quote back his absence in Tag team racing)
Crash Twinsanity was a good game in fact it was the last good game before it went downhill. Tag team racing was good but it had it's problems. Notice Crash bandicoot also has missing characters? Looks like half of Cortex's minions have gone.
That site is good BTW Jim didn't know Cortex was due for his own game

It's one of the best Crash fansites around. I had been a member of the forum up until last year, when I left due to personal conflict.
To be honest, I'm not really the Crash fan I used to be. The Naughty Dog games (of which I played) were good, and I did also like the games made by Vicarious Visions (the GBA games and also Nitro Kart), but the other games felt extremely hit'n'miss.
BTW, it's funny you should mention that OJ...Crash Bandicoot has almost 60 characters within the series, yet I'd say over half of them were one-timers, and even then only a handful have actually been utalised a great deal. Mind you, they bought back N Brio, so you never know (and lets be honest here...his appearance in Mind Over Mutant completely outdid his Twinsanity appearance, wouldn't you say?)

Well considering he didn't have any lines what so ever in Twinsanity I agree. You know Maurice LaMarche voiced him in Mind Over Mutant. He's a famous voice actor I doubt we'll be seeing Rilla Roo (remember him) anytime soon but I would love to see Tiny and Dingodile back

And yes I did, I haven't played MoM yet (and I'm not sure I wish to, to be honest...not yet anyway), but I've seen cutscenes, and he does pretty well. And yeah, I remember Rilla Roo. He was my Main in Bash.

Mind over mutant is more or less the same as Titans but you get a few new mutants to play as.
I know in Titans there was going to be a teist regarding the relationship between Cortex, his neice and Uka Uka but it got dropped. Wonder what it could have been?
When I was younger I wanted there to be a Crash Bandicoot cartoon. I always wonder what it could have been like. I now they changed Sonic a bit.

I've only played the first 3 plus Wrath, Bash and Racing. All were pretty good, the first 3 were amazing to play.

I wouldn't have minded a Crash cartoon, as long as they didn't make Crash speak.
But, then again, considering that many of the characters already had a voice cast, that would have been difficult. Many of the other cartoons/anime involving video games generally have completely different VAs to the games for one reason or another (generally because they made the cartoons before the characters got their first voice in the games themselves).

I think quite a few of the videogame voice actors have been in cartoons before. Corey Burton (original Cortex I think they've got a new one now) has definetly been in alot. I know the guy who does Bender in Futurama has been in a Crash Game but I agree don't make Crash talk
Wrath of Cortex was supposed to be a flop. It was funny when they poked fun at it in Twinsanity ;D

Actually, you're probably thinking of Clancy Brown, Burton only did N Gin and N Tropy in Wrath of Cortex (and quite badly at that). John DiMaggio (Bender) did Tiny in Nitro Kart and Uka Uka in Titans/Mind Over Mutant.

Cortex and Uka Uka's relationship kinda reminds me of Shredder and Krang's from Ninja Turtles.
Wonder what their relationship will be like in the next game?

I can see Cortex being defiante until Uka Uka completely rips-loose. I think that would be cool for the next game.
I did have several of my own ideas for a future Crash game. I wouldn't mind seeing an RPG (hey, it worked for Mario and Sonic, why not Crash?)

I remember reading in some old PlayStation mag back in '99 that there WAS going to be a Crash cartoon. I anticipated it and anticipated it, only for it to never come. Could have been great. I say Twinsanity is the closest we'll ever see to what Crash would be like if it was a show. Yeah, I don't like what's been done to the characters since Titans. They just look weird now. Well, okay, the Crash characters have always supposed to be weird and wacky, but before they were in a good way. They were funny, kooky characters typical of what you'd expect from a cartoon. In fact, they were pretty much made to be in a cartoon, which makes me more disappointed that nothing ever came of the concept. Now they just look weird in a, well, weird way. I think Cortex and Tiny have suffered the worst, and since when was Tiny, Mike Tyson? I don't see why developers have to keep changing the looks of classic videogame characters. It's the same with Spyro as well now, and even the Sonic characters had a makeover in more recent years. Yeah, love Crash Mania. I just happened to stumble upon it one day last year. The Twinsanity info and TT Oxford's other concepts which were taken away from them are particularly intriguing. Oh yeah, and whose seen the two merchandise pics I've put up? ;D

In complete fairnessy, one can not judge a game solely on how the characters look. One has to take into account the other features, most importantly, the gameplay.
I actually stopped being a Crash fan because certain people were incapable of doing this.

While I don't like how the characters now look, I am also not the biggest fan of the actual gameplay either. Titans was your typical, beat-'em-up game, of which is a genre I don't find very appealing. If I want to play something like Tekken or whatever, then I'll play Tekken, but Crash was always a platforming vehicle, and that's what I have always come to expect of the series. I am not saying there should be no changes and innovations, but what has happened in the last 2 games I feel is really just too much. As I said, Mutant is better, as there is at least some platforming again, but enough of the controlling Titans gameplay, the novely wore off in 10 minutes in the previous game, in my view. While the old character designs may never be seen again (at least N. Brio still looks the same though, and N.Gin apart from his gothic look), I hope the gameplay can return to something more like what we saw in Twinsanity, which I feel was perhaps the last proper Crash game. If you have read this entire rant, congratulations.

I persoanlly don't mind the Titans being in the game but Crash has been pther genres of games such as Party and racing (all racing games are good). As isaid before the only thing I don't like is campy Cortex. Hopefully they'll bring Dingodile back as well.

So do I, hopefully how he was in Titans DS. I mean, I know he only spoke during the boss battle, but I received it well.

Games such as Crash Bash (adventure mode being impossible though) and Team Racing I also find highly enjoyable, Team Racing still being one of my all time favourite games. They were different and welcome diversions to the series from just platforming, but importantly they stuck to Crash's routes, which I feel is well essential to any series. As I said though, Mutant I didn't mind to a degree, although I feel there is still room, or more rather a LOT of room for improvement in gameplay. I don't know, maybe I'm just too nostalgic when it comes to my childhood character heroes. Hopefully something will come of this shift in developers. From what I seem to recall, either from Crash Mania or GameFaqs, the situation is that Radical's staff has been cut in half, and they have merged with Activision. The development time of the next Crash game will be two years instead of one, and a CEO or someone replied to a fan's email that nothing will be heard of the next game till sometime late this year.

I liked playing Crash Bandicoot, although I only had: Crash 1, Crash 2, Crash Bash, Crash Team Racing and Crash Nitro Karts.
Crash Bandicoot was my replacement for Sonic the Hedgehog when my Sega master system packed it in, but when I got my first playstation console Crash was an excellent replacement for deal old Sonic.
I used to play Crash Team Racing with a mate, we enjoyed ourselves as we always used to moan about N.Gin because he'd cheat on us but those were the days (Summer of 2001, good times then for me).
