Hey all Movie Soundtracks are me real music love plus 19th Century classical. I love so many film scores, Star Wars I-VI, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Star Trek Movie Scores.
There are so many great film composers, John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner, Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore, Maurice Jarre, the list goes on, but these people have written some great music for film.
I also love Murray Gold's work on New Doctor Who, just wondering who else (if anyone) loves Film Music!

I'm a big fan of film music, especially the Harry Potter soundtracks (I've got the first three soundtracks, just need 4 and 5!) and the "Thomas and the Magic Railroad" soundtrack as well.

The Harry Potter scores are great. I'm currently studying Film Music in my last term at Music College. I'm going to be looking at the musical collaborations between Steven Speilberg and John Willams!!!! I think I'm going to focus on the Indiana Jones Movies, imparticular Raiders of the Lost Ark. Such a great score!!!!

Yeah. Those are all good ones, but I think my favorite is the LotR movies. The Lord of the Rings soundtrack is possibly the most beautiful and incredible music I've ever heard! I never get tired of it and I could listen to it all day. Here are some of my favorite samples: (not from me)

The LotR Soundtracks are classic, did you know they have brought out ultimate editions of these soundtracks nows, which have ever bit of music on from the films, but each one cost £50 so I think i will pass on them :-( I really would have liked the Return Of The King Soundtrack, oh well. My first big soundtrack love was the Star Wars soundtracks, especially Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi!!! Just finished my essay on the music of indiana jones, and have come to the conclusion that John Williams has past his prime, as much as I have loved his works, his scores today are good, but just sound like John Williams scores, rather than his 80's and early 90's work which sounds like GREAT FILM music. Anyhow im probably boring everyone, but i just thought I would mention the conclusion of my essay!

I like the soundtracks for: *The Spongebob Squarepants movie *Juice *Above the Rim
The Spongebob album I like because of its nautical theme. The other two albums where made by Death Row Records, both movies starred Death Row's most succesful rapper 2Pac. They were also some of Dr.Dre's last productions while he was still at Death Row. They had some of the best beats by The Lady of Rage, Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg.

I like the Star Wars Soundtracks the most, John Williams is one of my favourite film composers along with John Newton Howard, Hans Zimmer and Howard Shore.
Other than the Star Wars soundtrack I also like:
The Orchestra from Lion King by Hans Zimmer and the Pirates of the Carribean soundtrack. Tarawa by John Newton Howard from Snow Falling on Cedars (Which I first heard from a Star Wars fan-made trailer) Lord of the Rings soundtrack by Howard Shore.

I've seen many films where the music has outshone the story. But, my favourite music score has to be from David Lean's 'Lawrence Of Arabia'.
French composer Maurice Jarre created a score that stretched the length of the film to 320 minutes. But, every single bar was worth it. Even one of the films' seven Oscars was for best music score.

Chris I have to totally agree it is an awesome score, that main theme with Leans super directing to that desert long shot it breath taking! I also love Jarres Lara theme from Doctor Zhivago, which I know many say is cheesy, but I personally think is beautiful ;D

You guys all overlooked one of the greatest movie composers of all time: Ennio Morricone! This guy did the music for all of Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns (such as the legendary The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly), and the beautiful score to Once Upon A Time In America and Cinema Paradiso, and literally hundreds of other musics. Also, if anybody's ever seen it, the movie Yojimbo has a great soundtrack.

I have a few movie soundtracks, but I'm more of a song person than an intsrumental person. Nevertheless, the ones that I do have include:
Beauty and the Beast The Lion King Pocahontas Pokemon (The first two films) Dreamgirls
As I said, not a very instrumental person.

Mark Menza did an awesome job on DBZ movies 6-9 and I loved Hans Zimmer's music score for The Simpsons Movie. There are tons others that I can't be bothered naming as well.

I know this isn't a film but decided to stick this here anyway.
The soundtrack to the Halo games! That menu soundtrack on Halo (1) always makes me imagine a group of monks in an abbey or cathedral singing. (Ah, ahh, ahhhh, ahh, ah etc etc) Then i always imagine them flinging off the robes and wearing t-shirts and jeans with writing on them saying Monks Rock and then strumming guitars as the music really kicks in. Just fab.
As for music soundtracks, it is mainly the main title tunes that i prefer: Battle of Britain 633 Squadron Dambusters Indiana Jones Thunderbirds (TV def not that pile of poo of a live action film. More movement in the original puppets than the actors!) James Bond The Junior Campbell years over TTTE Spirit of Ciamarron due to the fact that Bryan Adams did lyrics for it Transformers Series 1 (2 onwards was pants for opening music) and Lion's Transformers for the 1986 film although that whole album is awesome. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1980s tv series. So catchy.
Am sure there are a few more but just can't think of them right now.

I'm surprised you guys haven't mentioned the Godfather soundtrack! Nino Rota as well as Carmine Coppola (the former producing most of the music for the first two films) did a masterful job with these.
Once Upon a Time in America, I believe one of Ennio Morricone's last big feature work, is also exemplary.
I also really enjoyed Nicholas Hooper's Harry Potter 6 soundtrack; much different than John Williams' work and really fit the new directing style David Yates used for the film.

I don't necesarilly have a favorite. Last Of The Mohicans wasn't bad, but my favorites the Christine movie. I even used it for Willie Rushton's Ghost Train narration after I got the CD I got the link for ya.
