I was Mercutio (I think I spelled his name right) in my 8th grade class' rendition of Romeo and Juliet once. Also, in high school, I sang and played guitar in our church band. We were pretty awful.

I've ameteur stuff for a while. I had a part in every high school play from years 7-12, and have been with a local ameteur company for a few years as well. There we've done Oliver!, Anything Goes and Annie (in which I played the parts of a speaking Hooverville Bum, Fred McCracken the ventriloquist and Judge Brandis!)

The play I was in for my Performing Arts Assessment has recently finished. We did a production of "Talk Radio" by Eric Bogosian. I'm really quite proud of how it went. I was cast in the lead role, and was on stage, talking nearly non-stop for 90 minutes. The part I played was an obnoxious, talkative, American Radio DJ known as Barry Champlain. Its quite a dark, yet interesting play. And I really enjoyed doing it. Here's a link of the review: www.henleystandard.co.uk/entertainment/theatre.php Our review is at the bottom of the page. There's also a picture of me shouting my balls off!

Wow! I wish I could have seen that, judging from the clip on YouTube, I think you must of had a lot of gutts in you to bring the part to life. Believe, energy is essential (Something I've been having problems with! ) Anyway, Well Done Davey! Speaking of theatre, I went to see 'Half a Sixpence' the musical which originally starred Tommy Steele. Gary Wilmott brought the part to life brilliantly and I loved every minute of it. Only downside was, whilst the performance was still going on, an elderly woman fainted in the audience. It caused a great deal of attention as everyone thought the worst had happened, but luckily she was fine, but was taken away by paramedics just in case. The reason why I went to see it was because I am working on one of the songs in singing classes at college. Hopefully when I return after the holidays, I can perform to best of abilities with the inspiration taken from Wilmott's performance Yay, 400th post!

Yeah, I do Performing Arts First Diploma at college. Things are going quite well and my performnace has imrpoved quite a lot since I first joined. The only thing I don't like about my course are some people in my class often seem like they can't be bothered. Lol, I know the feeling mate. Whilst my class was alright when I was doing Performing Arts in College, half of the ND1's were so lazy that, when we were doing collaboration pieces, a fair few of them kept either failing to turn up at rehearsal or turning up late. I'm at the Cardiff Atrium now, doing Drama, Theatre and Media. It's a good course, but I daresay I prefer my old course. There was a little more practical work in it. Builds a fair amount of character, practical work. Stuart

I use to sing at the talent show back in my 6th grade era in 2004. And it's this song right here. www.webratsmusic.com/video-69306-paralyzer.phpBut today, I've decided that I'm not a big fan of singing because I know I suck at singing, but back then I was good though. Anyways, hope you enjoy 'Just West of Eden', performed by: Michael McDermott.

Well let's see here...
I helped design sets for my 5th grade play in 1998, got a bit part for a production of Our Town in my freshman year of High School in 2001, but dropped out of that because of a disagreement over the scheduling. You see, EVERYONE was required to show up at EVERY rehersal in my high school productions, regardless of what part you had. So, having only a small and rather insignificant role, I decided it wasn't worth it if I wasn't going to be needed every day.
After that, I was pretty much withdrawn from the Performing Arts for several years. Then this past May, I auditioned for my university's fall production of The Wiz. I managed to impress the people with my singing and acting displays. I don't know at the moment which part I got and won't know until the end of August, but I'll keep you guys posted as to how everthing goes in the coming months.

I was only casted as an Extra in school plays And since we had the worst Drama lessons at my school, i decided not to take it as a GCSE, if i ever wanted to act i would find my own way Although i've always reffered to SiF productions as Drama. Infact, even tough i've not been involved in Drama, i did use my Cameraman ship to record my year groups performances to be marked, i got a Steven Spielberg award for all that

Does film and commercial work count towards this?
I depicted the main character during flashbacks in the film "The Keeper".
I also successfully auditioned for a significant role in the 1995 Damon Wayans film "Major Payne", but turned the part down because it was a military movie and I would have had to cut my dreadlocks.

My little sisters and my young brother started doing dance classes at Center Stage Academy back in 2007.I liked how they're doing but the bad thing is that their one class instructor,Ms.Laura is mostly mean at them and because of that,my brother and sisters are also mean. Two weeks ago,I started this Jazz class at a different dance school and the class was like an exercise class for me and the instructor was very and some the older ladies were nice too.

Well, I'm involved in the Arts again. This time, it's a children's theater production of The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, based on the books, which I'm sure not too many of you have ever heard of. No seriously, even I've never heard of Stanley until I saw the script. BTW, in case anyone was wondering from my post a few posts up, "The Wiz" went great!

My school's production of "The Sound of Music" opens in two days. ;D I'm not actually acting in it, but I'm part of the stage crew (which means I run around setting up furniture, messing with the curtains, making sure everybody has their props-- that sort of thing. Honestly I'm a bit worried, as even this close we still don't have all the props ready, and I just learned today of two more things we have to move and that we have to move the back curtain between scenes. Kinda wish somebody had told us a bit sooner, but oh well! Oh yeah, and then, in my drama class at school, I'm in this little play, in which I'm supposed to be a ninja hummingbird with ADHD and a lightsaber. (Yeah, I don't know how that works either! )

Ever since 4th grade, I have played in the percussion section of concert band in elementary school, middle school, and currently, in high school. I chose to play percussion because I'm not much of a person who makes music from breathing, and who doesn't enjoy banging cymbals, drums, etc.? With a wide variety of instrumentals to choose from in that section, I find no way of growing bored. Out of all the instruments in the percussion section, my favorite ones to play are the bass drum and the crash cymbals. They do appear as the easiest ones to play, but I get a kick out of banging and bashing them together, respectively, to produce the loudest sounds I can possibly make. Playing in the percussion is also fun because of the various percussionists that I play alongside with. We always have a blast playing together, and we’re guaranteed to have some good laughs from time to time. This brings more relevance to me now, because last night, I (along with the other seniors) performed in the last Concert that I will ever play in grade school. Quite a shame, but not all is ending in tears. The Concert went well and the fellow band students and I wowed the audience with our performances, as always. As for my future with playing percussion,... well, I’m undecided now on whether to continue it or not through college, but I’m not leaving it out of my mind. Apart from that, I also performed in the local church’s summer and Christmas plays when I was younger. I can’t remember what many of the plays that I participated in were off the top of my head right now, but I do remember several of my roles that I played in them, ranging from a local bully to a skateboarding bear. Over time though, I lost interest in performing in church plays around my pre-teens, with my last role being a crew member instead of a cast member, specifically a music “projector” (playing music through a radio). I’m now too old to perform in any more church plays, but I enjoy seeing the ones being organized now. The people involved haven’t lost their touch yet.

Last night I attended my former high school's production of "Beauty and the Beast." The costumes were fantastic and from what I hear, they came from the Broadway production. Two of my friends played the lead roles and the choreography was superb.
Definitely a fun night!

Funny you should mention that, Aidan, as my high school had their own production of "Beauty and the Beast" last month. I didn't go to it myself, but from I've heard, as well as read in the school newspaper, it went down a storm with superb special effects, costumes, musical acts, and performances. Some people even went so far as to say that it blew Broadway's own production right out of the water.
What an interesting coincidence.

Oh I LOVE Acting. Here is what I have done.
2006 Christmas In Other Countries We had to do a play on how Christmas is celebrated in other countries. But we were in 4 groups and my group did Barcelona. I got to play a waiter like Manuel from 'Fawlty Towers'. We also got to sing 'Is This The WWay To Armarillo', but we changed it to Barcelona.
Jack's Story The play was about Jack who's parents got killed when he was a child. This was a bit like 'Oliver' and 'Bugsy Malone'. I played a College teacher and I got to lead the song 'Grease Lightening'.
The Audition This was a play in our Drama class. It was about a girl who wanted to audition for a talent show. I got to play her brother. Me and 3 others got to sing. I sang first and I sag 'Travis - Why Does It Always Rain On Me'. I was very nervous singing, but I got a very big cheer from the audience.
2008 Nature's Force and Fury This play was done last year in November. This was about how we thought the Earth was created. The play was 30 minutes long and we got to do some signing (deaf signing).
I am currently doing 'Acting classes and hoping to make it as an actor and appear on television. I have been taking 'Acting' classes since September 2008.
