Well I'm not exactly a Mario expert, but I do know that the Galaxy game was one of my favorites. The music is amazing, and worlds, I think, are really cool. They're little planets, and what's really interesting is how the laws of physics, gravity, etc, work on the different worlds. The starbit pointer isn't really that annoying, you get used to it. My opinion is that it's worth it. But don't just trust me, I'm no video game expert. (My brother, however, is more of a Mario guy, and he also loves the game. In fact, he was so obsessed with it at one point that he had all the songs on his iPod, and almost nothing else. )

Well, as some of you may know, I'm probably the second biggest Mario fanatic on this board (Besides C.B.), but I don't like the direction he's going in, and Mario Galaxy didn't seem like a great time when I first tried it out. That's wy I wanted a recommendation.

I had some of the games. My first one was "Super Mario Sunshine"and that came with the GameCube.I had it since Christmas 2002.I had also the original NES game I got on Ebay that was also a bundle pack with "Duck Hunt" with the NES game system.Does anyone know "Luigi's Mansion"?It was the first Gamecube game and I used to had since October 2006.It's one of my favorites because I just like to suck the ghosts into the vacuum and it feels like a Mario version of "Ghostbusters ".

*bump*
What do you people think is the better damage system for the 2D games?
First, there's the more difficult one: Fire Mario -> hit -> Small Mario (Super Mario Bros, Super Mario World)
Then there's the more lenient one: Fire Mario -> hit -> Super Mario (Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario Advance 2)
I prefer the more lenient one myself.

My favorite Mario video game ever is Super Mario Sunshine. In this Mario game is about something very strange. Mario, Princess Peach, and the Toads go on a tropical vacation on the beautifull Isle Delfino. Upon arrival Mario is arrested for polluting the island. However a bigger villan is on the lose. Mario however is going to need some help from F.L.U.D.D a flash liquidnizing ultra doucing device. The only character i dont like is the Noki shell dudes

It's funny. After two years of owning Mario Sunshine and hardly touching it for about 16 months, I finally got all 120 Shines. Let's see, that makes:
120 Stars in Mario 64 120 Shines in Mario Sunshine 150 Stars in Super Mario 64 DS 242 Stars in Mario Galaxy[/brag]

I've had several Mario games both past and present. The ones the I have now are Mario Kart 64 for DS (in which I haven't fully conquered all the levels), and NEW Super Mario Bros. also for DS. Past games that I've owned include: Mario Kart 64 for N64 Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (By far my favorite Mario game) and some others which I've played with various friends over my childhood years.

Well, Ican say one thing about the Koopalings returning.
YAY! It's really about time. I grew to like Jr., but he didn;t have tehe same charm the Koopalings did.

I never really liked Jr myself. I don't like Petey Piranha or Waluigi either.

Pretty excited for Mario Galaxy 2, even though I haven't bought a Wii game since Smash Bros...all my money goes into movies!
Nothing for me can beat mid-90s Mario. The Nintendo 64 when it first came out just had "attitude" printed all over it.
Mario Galaxy was my favorite game, though, since Mario Bros 3. The only thing it could have used was more open spaces.
Mario RPG was a great one. So was Paper Mario 2. Of the three Mario Party games I used to play, I liked #3 the best for its music and level designs.

The first Super Mario game I had was on the good old Nintendo 64 (infact it's still lurking around here someplace!) I've also done the Super Mario Galaxy fro the Wii, but stopped playing when it became more of something you had to complete then have fun with but I have to say it was easier then playing on the 64! Hopefully I can get the new paper version they have coming out for the Wii before years end!

I know this probably wouldn't fall under the "Super" Mario Bros category, but I recently started to play the classic Mario Bros. game on the NES. I didn't get very far at all, but it felt good to revisit the classic game!

I'm totally psyched about SMG2 - it's out in the States now and my copy is on it's way! ^_^ That being said, I'm not very knowledgeable about the series as a whole. When I was younger I wasn't into Mario at all - I was into Pokemon It really wasn't until 2001 when the GBA came out that I got a taste of Mario - and admittedly, it wasn't that good when I look back on it. What really kicked it off was Super Mario Galaxy. Since then, I've gained a modest collection of games in the series... and I can safely say I'm a happy fan indeed. I'm personally a Luigi fan, myself... but hey, you can't have one without the other... ;D ~Elizabeth
