Hmmm...and according to Forbidden Planet, they're nicely priced too. I myself probably won't buy any from this wave (though if they ever sell that K-1 Robot separately, look out!), though I am tempted by the Tom Baker figure, creepy smile and all. And I have a friend who'd love that Peter Davidson figure. Normally I'd go for the Daleks, but I can't bring myself to buy one that I can't control remotely. And cause an unspeakable reign of terror upon my living room, or Uni room. These figures do look impressive though, and hopefully the next waves will allow for a big 10 Doctors reunion special...on my desk top. I could film it, maybe put it up on YouTube, I dunno... Thanks for drawing these to my attention, TomTank!

I like the classic version, because I feel this new version is just wasted on the modern audiences who'd rather see programmes which contain soul-searching and pleases everyone rather than just a programme for what it is. Although I do find this new version DOES have its moments (John Simm playing The Master being one of those highlights), I just don't like it!

Putting personal preferences aside, it's worth noting that when Doctor Who went on hiatus it was a national joke. Now it's the jewel in the BBC's crown. The big problem, I think, was that it got too mired in continuity, which is always a curse with sci-fi (look what happened to Star Trek). Having the Time War gave them a big reset button.
If I may digress for a moment, I think one of the best things about Doctor Who is how little continuity matters. The only constant you need is the Doctor, and even he can be completely rejigged to suit the time. And if there's a continuity clash, you can usually explain it away with time travel or general weirdness like the TARDIS.

Although I remind myself that Doctor Who is Doctor Who no matter what, I have to admit that it would mostly have to be Classic Who, especially the Philip Hinchcliffe era.
In terms of New Who, I'd most likely opt for the David Tennant and Peter Capaldi (both Scots actors!) serials, as well as the spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures.
