I'm one of the lucky few of us younger members to have a job, it's starts during the summer, and it's gotten me all excited...only three months and X days left... Oh, and good luck Aidan.

Well, today was the interview and everything went smoothly. I was able to answer many of the questions and, although I have to wait a few days for the medical test results.... I got the job! ;D

Well done Aidan, it's nice to see you've suceeded and about to create another rung on the ladder of life. I wish I had greater chances of employability, which I hardly bestow luck or no luck after trying to apply at Tesco's.

I'm training for a job in motor vehicle maintenance and I've already decided what route I should take within this particular industry; parts person. Albeit I've had work experience with A. J. Blackler, the Torquay-based outlet for Peugeot by working in their spares department. Now that's what I call a job I've come to love especially in the field of motor vehicles.

This fall, I am a RA (Resident Assistant). A RA is the person who is in charge of the hallway in a dormitory. I tried for the job last winter, but I blew it by being asked the question : What's your worst feature? and stupid me saying: I come to conclusions too fast. (I did not want to sit there and think about it. i was nervous!) I tried again and lucky out of a good 100 people it was one of the 50 who got it. Bad thing is, we get bad weather a lot at school and I am on the 8th floor (out of 10) and I am going to have to knock on every door and then sprint downstairs if a tornado appears. Its good though. Its a good $4000 i dont have to pay for living there, because it is paid for when your a RA. I also get a good $400 a month! Cant argue with that!

After moving down to NSW from QLD in January, I had joined a Job Search agency to help me find employment (I'm broke, you see ). Well, after months of (what turned out to be) pointless searching, someone I knew directed me to apply for a position for emergency casual work at the world-famous Bega Cheese factory. Needless to say, I got the job, and for at least the next 5 weeks I'll be working on the production line... making up to $800 a week (before tax) ;D So far the first week of work has been good- although standing in single spots for 8 hours does leave one's feet a little aching...

I have a job to
I work at one of the 'East of England' Co-op's. I work at the one in my area. I have worked there for 2 years and a month now.
I work on the till, with back stock and help with the deliveries. I work weekends Saturday nights and Sunday mornings, but I try to do some overtime to keep me busy. I have only been suspended from work one because I failed an 'Age Restriction' test. But I learnt my mistake and am now very careful with the sales.
I love to work on Bank Holidays and New Years Day because it is Double Pay.
When I don't work, I work on my parodies a redubs.

I work in a call center doing technical support for AT&T Wireless (U.S. Cellular Carrier) with the title of Consumer Data Representative. I provide support for email, web browsing, synchronization, and tethering just to name a few; on normal Cellphones, Smartphones, PDA Phones, Blackberry devices, and Mobile Broadband Aircards. Pay isn't much but it keeps me busy and is a challenge. Yes, I do get the occational customer on the phone screaming at me.
I have had this job since October of last year I work 40 hours over five days weekly. Shifts are seniority based and I am pretty low on the pole so I don't get much to pick from. My current shift that started just last week is 12:30pm-9:30pm on weekdays with Thursdays off and 12pm-9pm on Satudays. I do not work Sundays thankfully. I get paid every other week.
Time off is measured in hours and currently I only have eight more to use for the forseable future with vacation weeks scheduled in July and October.
Previously I did pretty much the same thing working for a call center doing support for SanDisk (3rd most popular Mp3 player make and largest producer of flashbased memory, think the SD card in your camera).
Even before that I worked for my Dad anwsering phones at his real estate office in high school.

You get no choice as to whether you go to school or not. You do not get paid. That fits my view of slavery!

Well, just been told I'm about to be unemployed. I've been working in my current job for two years via an agency and the NHS are trying to cut agency staff. So my job's going to go to somebody else. Yay self-esteem.
The worst part is that for a month or so, I'm still there and having to basically act like I'm cool with being made jobless and not utterly devastated. It's not much of a job, but it's mine, if you know what I mean.

I know the feeling FS The circumstances were a little different for me, but I've experienced a layoff many many years ago while I was on contract. I shortly thereafter landed a full-time job which led me to where I am today. Here's hoping that you'll come out of this on top as well, Tom and that the right new job opportunity presents itself to you.

I'm currently looking at getting a job, or an apprenteship. I need to get some money (currently in debt for both a car and driving lessons) and a job is the best bet. (I did try buying and selling but it didn't work out well.)

Sorry to hear about what happened, FlyingScotsman. I'm sure you'll be able to find another job, and I wish you luck.
A bit of an update on my job, I'm going to have a 90-day review in a few weeks' time. The managers at Walmart will be evaluating how I've been doing since my first day. I'm a little nervous, to be honest.
