Jenson Button has won at last!!! He won in Hungary on a day when title protagonists Alonso & Michael Schumacher fell foul of mechanical problems.

I'm a follower of sport, particularly being a Man Utd fan. Congratulations to Jenson Button who showed us the was in Formula 1 today. As for Alonso, it was sheer bad luck for him but idiocy from his mechanics who didn't put his wheel nuts on properly. But as for Michael Schumacher, that retirement will, as Rimmer would say, teach him to be a breadbasket.

*Blow* My that dust was filthy. Just to give the thread a bump...anyone following the new football season this year? Started to note we're getting some supporters on the forums, but hardly any posts in here. If you know what I mean. In other news, I'm going to watch the Wales vs. Austrailia rugby match today! Would say something like 'C'mon Wales!' but due to the numbers of Austrailian's here...I'll remain silent .

I'm a big Baseball fan, I love the Bosox (Red Sox) but I LOATHE the Yankees! I'm a Mets fan and I loathe the Yankees. As far as football (NFL) goes, Giants all the way. I love to play pool, but the pool table in my house is a little cramped.

I'm a Football fan as well. I support Chelsea, but Shevchenko has been dissappointing this season and Hilario's recent form hasn't been great either. I also saw an Ice Hockey match on Boxing day, Guildford played well but, literally, Solihull didn't give up without a fight...

I'm a massive football fan as well. I support Watford. And needless to say, I'm not especially enjoying this season. I live in Reading but I have a season ticket at Watford and go practically all the time. Last season was a great exciting run, and going to Cardiff was great, but this year has been so damn depressing. The bad part is, not only are we bottom of the table, but there have been many games where we've actually played very well, deserved to win, but have instead drawn or lost. Sadly, relegation looks inevitable. However, since we'll get the parachute payments and money from when we sell Ashley Young (which we blatantly will) we'll hopefully be able to mount a good promotion challenge next season. In terms of playing Sport, I only really play football, but I also love a bit of squash or table tennis in the summer. For football, my team is in its last year, and we are actually doing quite well in the league. We're about third, and I've scored a decent amount of goals this season. I recently played in my first match since December on Sunday. We played a team top of the division above us and lost 6-5! It was gutting, but I scored a 30 yarder so I ain't complaining. But yeah, I love sport, mostly football, and its a crime I've gone so long on here without noticing this thread.

Here's something for Football fans in the UK...
Liverpool will announce the signing of Javier Mascherano tomorrow.
Dunno what to expect: He's a good player, but he was a waste at West Ham.

Wow, any source on this? I know we're buying a right-back from Deportivo, but Mascherano? I knew we were interested, but we're seriously going through with it? Even though we have Sissoko and Alonso (probably two of the best defensive midfields in the Premier League, not bragging...honest ;D). I think he could've been used more at West Ham, but the whole deal was shoddy really. I mean, Argie's best youth talents, one the next Marodona (along with the other 90 odd they got... ) and one a brilliant defender sign on a peanuts fee at West Ham. I think thats what ruined their season personally. They were stunning in the beginning and then that happened to them. Unfair really...really unfair. On another note, a bloke apparently by us the whole Premership at one point has just been loaned out by Plymouth to Wrexham. My how times changed.

Here we go...
Mascherano free to join Liverpool West Ham midfielder Javier Mascherano has been given special dispensation by Fifa to join Liverpool from West Ham. Under Fifa's rules, a footballer cannot play competitively for more than two different clubs between 1 July and 30 June the following year.
Mascherano, 22, has already represented Corinthians and West Ham in that time.
But Fifa said: "The Fifa single judge ruled that Javier Mascherano is eligible to play in official matches with Liverpool with immediate effect."
In the statement Fifa explained its ruling was determined partly because the South American and European seasons overlap.
A Liverpool spokesman confirmed: "Fifa has confirmed the player is entitled to play for Liverpool.
Mascherano arrived at Upton Park with international team-mate Carlos Tevez on 31 August.
But he has played only six minutes since the defeat at Tottenham on 22 October and had been desperate to leave the club.

Ah, I think that's how we've swindled the Fifa Ruling, the fact he's only played 6 min's. I think Liverpools chances of buying players are shot due to the Dubai takeover collapsing. We may just scrap the Duran and the Deportivo defender, but Masherano may seem unlikely for this year, I've heard West Ham want £12 mill' for the lad . Chelsea haven't signed anyone, I think thats more or less expected though due to the whole back-room dispute and stuff apparently happening down there. Watford have signed a Winger though, for Davey's sake. I haven't personally seen the lad play, despite him being Welsh, but I think he can play either wing so thats a bit of decent cover for them. Lets hope its enough for them to stay up, eh? I like the Watford manager, he's probably one of the most down to earth blokes in the Prem. He's joint second to Holloway. He's just mad ;D.

Nice! Id rather see them in the finals than the Swans. In other aussie sports news I have been watching the Roosters train over summer and spoken to players and god they look good! From having 1 fringe prop we now have 6. They are bloody mongrels I tell ya. Really ripping in showing alot of aggression. A very big and mobile forward pack with good young halves and a very speedy backline. They are alot happier under Anderson and it will show bigtime. Top 4

Concerning yesterday's Daytona 500, Nascar screwed Mark Martin out of a win plain and simple.
To put it simply. If NASCAR can throw a caution for a piece of rubber that's out of all the other's cars ways (see Pepsi 400 last year) . In the grass of the same track, then the caution should have come out right when they started crashing. Field should have been frozen right there. What happened to the whole no racing back to the checkered rule?
Now I'm not saying harvick did anything wrong. He got the run fairly, and did not hit or wreck Martin. However, under NASCAR's rules the field should have been frozen right when the crashes started happening. Now if Harvick was ahead at the scoring loop I will understand the call, but from my angle Martin was ahead at that moment. Therefore the lead (and the race) was his.
There was a similiar case to the in the Busch race at Daytona a few years back. Basically the exact same case. Caution came out on time, and let Tony Stewart win that race. If NASCAR can do that then, why can't they do that now? It doesn't make sense.

Well, Man Usa won at Liverpool on Saturday thanks to an incorrect flag, a Manc linesman with an IQ of -16 and a goal which was clearly offside, but Chelsea won at Portsmouth thanks to Petr Cech and Didier Drogba-and Ashley Cole. West Ham now look doomed after surrendering a 2-0 lead to lose 4-3 at home to Spurs, but who will go down with them?

Well plenty of motor-racing in the next 2 weeks. Round 1 of MotoGP in Qatar this Saturday and a week later, THE START OF THE FORMULA 1, in Australia and it looks set to be a good year ;D 'scuse the pun, but it will be, plenty of race driver changes in all bar 3 teams, no Michael Schumacher and 17 rounds of grand prix. What will this season hold & who could be champion?

I might back back in Formula 1 more this year. Sort've got interested in it a while back then lost interest for some reason. The problem was that Shumacher was always winning and it seemed no-one else could tip him. Of course, near the end of his career people slowely beat him, yeah. Now it's going to interesting to see who can step up.
Liverpool are through in Champions League though, so thats the Dunn household singing YNWA ;D.
