If you want to have fun, don't be scared by Rhodori in that video, thats one sure way to have nightmares... I didn't realise how addictive this game could be, I'm doing better than I had hoped for though, my first season in the league with 4 games to go and I'm in the top half. Hopefully I can win at least the next two and with a bit of luck and confidence in the players maybe all of the last 4. Am I wishing for too much? time can only tell... That transfer window is anoying though, I was hoping for a little more strenght in midfield.

This surprise outcome puts MPV 6 points clear at the top, who after a mediocre first half, earned another win against Tidmouth. Ffarquhar have many thanks to give to Salford, who's draw gave the Masons another shot at Knapford's 2nd place following their victory over the Gatekeepers, which puts an end to their table battle with Collothuner, who dashed the hopes of the Wanderers moving up the table with a Brace from Terrence Speering.

Wow, another round where results just about go perfectly for me. 6 points up with 3 matches to go makes me a happy panda. Not slacking off at all though, one of my young guns got a bad injury so I need to really train him back up to scratch. That transfer window is anoying though, I was hoping for a little more strenght in midfield. I think next season I'll set it up for one match a week again so that the transfer window's open for longer and we can have the Cup tournament again. Win-win

And this is exactly why I can;t slack off: Crovans Gatekeepers - Collothuner 0 - 1 (0 - 1) Tidmouth United FC - Ffarquhar Masons 2 - 5 (1 - 1) AFC Knapford - Wellsworth Wanderers 4 - 0 (1 - 0) Mons Patro Visé - Salford Athletic 0 - 2 (0 - 0)Yeah I'm not happy. Have no idea how I lost that considering all the pluses I had (prepared for formation, win bonus, pressure in midfield) and the form my players were in. This has thrown me for a spin, seriously. Hopefully I'll get back on track against Wellsworth on Saturday for a belated Christmas present.

The major news is that Salford Athletic, after drawing Knapford on Saturday, moved to 5th by pulling another rabbit out of the hat - beating MPV - the first team this season to accomplish this Titanic task. Lightening's defeat puts them 3 points ahead of now title chasers AFC Knapford, with a routine performance over Wellsworth confirming that the Wanderers will finish the season in 7th. Tidmouth United will end up propping up the league at 8th, despite managing to equalise a shaky Ffarquhar twice before the Masons managed to put 3 balls in the back of the United net over the course of 4 minutes. Collothuner well and truly settled their all season battle with the Crovan Gatekeepers by sending them down to 6th after Will Priest scored the only goal pf the match 2 minutes in.

To claim the title, they must at least draw Collothuner on Wednesday, otherwise the title returns to Somerton Road [AFC Knapford] if they beat Croven Gatekeepers, their goal difference tipping the balance in their favour. This goal difference was possible after they won against Collothuner, who will now finish their debut season in 4th. Ffarquhar continue their push for 2nd place after dominating Salford Athletic. Should Knapford lose to the Keepers and the Masons overpower the Wanderers, 2nd is theirs. Finally, Tidmouth United claimed their first points of the season following a nerve wreaking match with the Gatekeepers.

Well now my team's final position is certain, I can't grumble. Its a pitty that they didn't start winning earlier, then I could have been in contention for the top 3. However its been a great season for a team who are new to this league and have a manager who keeps forgetting about them. It may seem like we have nothing to play for with the final match in store, but its going to be a test of my defence and hopefully we can come away with something. If we can decide how the title goes, it would be great, but looking at the top two, I don't think we have the muscle to stop MPV winning the title, its worth a try though...

I was incredibly nervous about this last match, I didn't want to be leading the whole season and then throw it away in the last few rounds. Very happy to have ended up OK - that $750,000 win bonus was worth it. Season will complete itself around this time tomorrow and we'll see the change report - how does everyone reckon they'll do? I've got a few players who won't increase by as much as hoped due to injury, but otherwise should be OK. I'll start the next season in a week or so, say the 7th of January. One match a week, and the Cup will start a few rounds in too. Congrats to all on another good season.

Seeing how this is the last round of the season, I thought I'd do more than the match summery. So a full report on each mach is in order!
Mons Patro Vise - Collothuner Mons Patro Visé needed to get a single goal over mid table side Collothuner to claim their first title in many years...and the Lightening didn't disappoint their home crowd by starting with a 20 yard screamer from Kurt van Dalen with the game barely 60 seconds old.The Hunters, determined to prove their worth by deciding who would carry the cup home had their hearts broken when the 4th Official called offside as Ron Bowey delivered the much hoped for equaliser. Hearts sank futher when the Huner's top point scorer, Jeremias Breckin limped off in the 13 minute, the visiting fans knowing that any chances of a fight were fading fast in the light of the Lightening settled into a pace that they couldn't match. MPV doubled their lead on the 34th minute with a freekick, followed by trouble for the Huner's defensive lineup as their linchpin, Neill Thorington was carried off by the team physio shortly before half time after a suspected twisted ankle.
With victory in hand, MPV didn't slack up as another screamer, this time from Joop Cruijss found the back of the Huner after 3 minutes of play. The icing for the cake arrived 7 minutes later when Gerard van Leerdam slid the ball through the penalty box to a ecstatic home crowd. Joop however thought the cake needed a cherry on top by making it 5 - 0, which was denied to them following an dubious off side call. None the less, the party had already started in the home stand as the League Cup was well and truly in theirs hands. All that remained was the drowning out of the final whistle. at the game entered the last 10 minutes, Collothuner unexpectedly took procession of the game, hoping to spoil the party by ruining MPV's clean sheet. This was not to be, with the final going on the 95th minutes, MPV were finally crowned League Champions.
Wellsworth Wanderers - Ffarquhar Masons Many felt Masons Manager Rhodri Davies was surrendering 2nd place in the league by fielding a vastly understrength side against the Wanderers, citing "development for rotating players", with the fuming opportunists hoping that the Gatekeepers would prevent a Knapford win, giving the Masons 2nd in the league. They were proved half right, for while Knapford were ahead over at Crovans Gates, by the 30th minute, this particular fixture was the only one of the day that was still goalless, with the Wanderers in total control for 15 minutes. These worries were put to bed as Masons reasserted themselves, and after 3 minutes, Isaac Marsden, who been off form for most of the season, showed his worth to the club as he sent a spectacular Cannonball into the Wanderer net from 25 yards, who was followed 2 minutes later by the League's top goal scorer of the season, Ernest Bigglesworth and a freekick, ending the action for the first half.
The second half saw the Wanderer's infamous brutal style of play come to bear as the hours approached. First Fionn McClennan for simulation, which paled to compare to the next offense. A Wanderer corner saw a massive scrabble on the Mason goal line, with Carroll Yeates pushing Mason Keeper Lamom Thawan as he lepted to catch the ball, knocking him off balance and sending him full force, head first into side post, resulting in his forehead being cut. Pleading it was an accident to officials, Yeates escaped with his 3rd yellow card, with a competitive ban for the next first match of the next season, much to the disappointment and protests from Mason player, manager and fan alike as they called for red, with Mason defender Hal Bass getting booked for revenge actions on Yeates not long after. The incident saw Mason form collapse and the Wanderers capitalising on it as Paul Stepney got results with a freekick, making it 1 - 2. Never fully recovering from 'Yeategate', the Masons faced a grueling offensive from the Wanderers, and were relived as the final whistle went. While not Champions, Davies had something to celebrate, knowing that Bigglesworth and the on bench Manuel Irrureta had between them claimed the top spots in most goals, assists and points of the season. Plus he was later informed that following his win with an understrength side, he won the his 7th 'Manger of the Round' and with it; 'Manager of the Season' following his tight race against MPV manger, Clay Halford, who had claimed 6 MotR's.
The match reports for other matches will come in a day or two.

The first round is over and the Wanderers at the top of the table? That's right, after two seasons of hurt, the Wanderers have shown their worth by beating big boys AFC Knapford. Through injury and poor discipline, the defensive lineup of the Harbourmen were full of holes, allowing Wanderer's Liaño and a sublime Gallagher to net 3 goals, a top flight record for the club. Could this be a flash in the pan, or has the Wanderers finally turned a corner? Collothuner drew first blood as they got the first goal of the season at the 3 minute mark while at hosting Salford Athletic - last season's wild cards. After a red card for Salford's Babington, followed by an own goal from Barker before the end of the first half, most supporters should have left there and then, for a non-event second half followed, leaving many fans glad to hear the final whistle. Tidmouth United's away form is something to wince at, having lost all of their away matches since beating the Wanderers 2 seasons ago. In view of this, reining champs Mons Patro Visé had little to worry about as they played a slow paced game, saving energy for their mid week friendly with the Masons. While losing Lankhaar through injury within 4 minutes of play was a blow, they showed their lack of concern by instantly sending a freekick to the back of United's net. Apart from a late goal, another non event second half. Some will say that following the sale of Ffarquahr forward, Nicholas Pratchett, you shouldn't field a 4-3-3 formation when you only have 3 forwards to play with. Masons manger Rhodri Davies was put in the hot spot when forward Johnston was injured, forcing Davies to bring defender Peter Davies off the bench to play out of position, resulting in a rather drab 2nd half performance as the Masons struggled to overcome the Gatekeepers, who held the Masons to a draw until the final ten minutes. Davies promised a new, skilled forward would help him claim some silverware, he better deliver soon.

Wow! I was expecting a better season out of my boys this time around, but to topple AFC Knapford in the first round? I was not expecting that! Hopefully it will be the beginning of something great for the boys at Wellsworth... But I dare not speak too soon

That's the last thing a Wanderer fan would want to hear, for following their shock victory over Knapford last week, they've enjoyed the view from the top of the league and they wanted it stay like that. However, when you play away to champs MPV, its a tall order to repeat last week's success. lineup denied them a single chance at goal throughout the 90 and sending two goals to the back of the net, combine that with Collothuner conceding a Tidmouth goal, the home side were propelled to the top of the league and an ecstatic home crowd to chant "Champs again!", leaving the Wanderers to plummet down to 5th. However, a groan spread throughout home stand at Stade Charles Tondreau near full time as news from the Salford - Ffarquhar Game reached them. While Salford can be a tough nut to crack at times, few expected them to be leading after only 2 minutes. The Masons responded well when they equalised quickly with a penalty and took control of the game in second half. At the 85th minute, lone striker George Chester was made the man of the hour with the game already 1 - 3, headed the ball into the Salford net, sending his side to the top of the league on Goals For in the difference. There is a good feeling at Collothuner this season, with manager David Dickinson being very active on the Transfer scene, there is a possible chance that the Hunters can finish their second season in the top flight in the much sought after top 3. However, at their away match at Tidmouth, the home fans learned that an new era had began at the club - manager David Gurney had left the club on mutual consent following a poor last season - more on this next week. The hunters certainly had a good first half by getting two goals in, going to the top of the league. In the second half, United made an unexpected come back, getting some well deserved goals, which sent Ffarguhar and MPV up the table on goal difference, leaving them 3rd. The Hunters are in good form, and hopefully this United performance which moved them to 6th, can transfer this success to the next manager. Knapford's defeat to Wellsworth last week was a bad start to the season. With their match against the gatekeepers, they proved that their last match was a flash in a pan when Ken Cripps tapped the ball home from the inside of the penalty box within four minutes, who continued showing his importance to squad with another goal and assisting Haul Fairney with a cross, all before the end of the fist half. However, Kripps also highlighted the squad's dependence on him after limping off just before the hour mark. After this, Knapford failed to make an impression without his presence, even with the game in their control. A game of two hales, but Knapford move to 4th, while Salford prop up the league.

Mediocre first halves with thrilling seconds. Most eyes were drawn to Wellsworth today to see the beginning of Joshua Haworth's reign as manager at Tidmouth United. United, who have been on a downward spin in the past few seasons thanks to poor actions from the boardroom want to reverse the this become the force they a few seasons ago. Both sides committed themselves well in a closely contested match, but it was a header from Wanderers' Manus Riordanfirst (his first goal after several seasons in the wilderness) that gave the 3 points to the improving home side and sending United down to 7th. The second surprise result of the season came from Crovans Gate, where the Keepers made a fine performance and held Mons Patro Visé to a draw. The Lightening struggled to get past the Keeper's defensive line up, only able to get 3 chances at goal all game. While MPV maintain their clean sheet, this is a great victory for Ceri Jenkins' and his squad, for by drawing the defending Champions, they end their losing streak after 6 matches and move up to 6th. The highlight of the day without doubt goes the Ffarquhar - Collothuner match. By the end of the first half, this was the only fixture of the day to have a goal, which went to the home side. The second half was real thriller, with the hunters showing their skill by not just equalising, but drawing ahead with 15 minutes left on the clock, only to be equalised themselves. Set to end as a draw, it was Mason big boys Boshell and Irrureta that rained on the Hunter's parade at the 90th minute with a shot in the penalty area. With The keepers drawing MPV, Ffarquhar are now 2 points clear at the top while the Hunters slip to 4th. Knapford returned to the top three with a win over Salford Athletic. The Harbourmen have put their first match with the Wanderers behind them and took full control of the game, yet couldn't finish their tries at goal. Second half saw Knapford complete their hold on the game with forwards Stone and Gibb delivering those much needed goals. While still a low position for the club, Knapford move to 3rd while Salford remaining holding up the table at 8th.

Today was the first of three matches in which Ffarquhar will face United. In their last five encounters, the Masons have won three, drawn two and scored 19 goals while only conceding 4. They certainly didn’t let up as Manuel Irrureta in his first match as team Captain delivered a worldclass (with a rating of 12, it’s a joint league record for best performance) hat trick, with fellow midfielder Victor Rikardsson scoring a brace. The only damper for the Masons was seeing Ernest Bigglesworth leaving the pitch on the stretcher, later learning that he’s out on injury until the 24th. Unfortunately for Ffarquhar, even with their win, they don’t have breathing space, for MPV delivered an equal performance over Salford Athletic. Athletic nearly ruined the lightning’s league campaign last season when they won 0 – 2, with many hoping for a repeat performance. MPV however are in top form with Otis Crossley scoring two and assisting another two. Knapford faced their first worthy opponents in the form of Collothuner, and by Lord it was a good match! The first was saw little as the sides tested each other with the spoils going to the Hunter’s as their pressure at the Harbourmen goal line saw an own goal from Francis Cleghorn. While leading, the Hunter where handed a blow moments before the first half end as Christian Cornfeld limped off the pitch on his club debut. Second half saw Knapford taking the initiative and scoring twice within 15 minutes. But the Hunters weren’t going down a fight and nullified the Knapford lead by once more taking the lead, only to be instantly equalized. But like last week, it was late goal that denied Collothuner a well deserved point, who combined with circumstance, slip to 5th. Wellsworth Wanderer fans must be ecstatic this season. Four games in and they’ve done better than the last two seasons combined. They’ve won more matches, scored more goals and are 4th in the table after spending a week at the top. This is the result of a worthy 2 – 0 win over Crovan Gatekeepers. A good first half started with a croosed header to the Wanderers, but this was followed by a superb second half as the Keepers had total control of the ball, but couldn’t get it out of their own half thanks to Wanderer man of the match Kyran Gillian, letting another Wanderer cross to seal the match for them.
