I need a new name.
Not a new SiF name, that's not what I mean, I mean a new real name. Because my real first name, Megan, is waaaaaaay too common. I mean, everybody I know knows at least two other Megans, no joke. My best friend knows about six others. There's another Megan in half my classes. And I'm tired of hearing people say my name, turning around, and having them tell me that they were talking to somebody else.
So. Rename me.

How about "Peter Griffin?" Well, to be honest, I'd prefer a girl's name.

How about a nickname? Perhaps some sort of variant of your middle name, or your last name . Perhaps even a collaboration of two of your names.
Or how about even a title. I personally go for The Colonel [no joke]. Another has been known to be called The Inspector [or Inspector Hound], a title he took on after reading a rather un-funny play, and then mocking it, with him being the title character. This then stuck. Another's title, if he had to have one, would be The Jester, although I'm not sure as to the origination of this one.
My best mate we jokingly call The Ben, which sort of started off as him being the Stig, after the other three of us in my closest group of friends had previously gone on a trip involving a Top Gear style race [seriously close as well; glad we filmed it]. Somehow, we can all relate in some ways to the different presenters [myself being the most Hammond-ish]. Thinking he might feel left out, we pretending he could be The Stig, the not so-much appearing, mysterious 'other', and this later turned into The Ben, which he gladly goes along with sometimes these days. [He won't mind me mentioning him, I'm sure. He's quite aware of the Island and what we do, and doesn't mind if I mention on the odd occasion].
Alternatively, try taking the first letter of your first name and second name, and see how that sounds.
Another idea might just be, if everyone else called Megan is always referred to as that, have them call you Meg, a shorter version to help avoid confusion.
Either way, don't feel that you have to change your name just because you know other people that are called that, even if they seem to be the one who first comes to mind upon the mentioning of the name, which I actually doubt is the case.
I've probably a) taken this too seriously and b) gone on far too long, but... just some [OK, a lot of] suggestions.
Nicholas.

I mean, I don't intend to legally change my name or anything... I just think it'd be cool to have a name that everyone else and their dog doesn't know two or three of. Even if nobody actually called me that, I think it'd be cool just to have it, y'know? Anyways, thanks for writing up all those suggestions (same goes for everybody else, too). Although, just saying, don't be afraid to make crazy suggestions as well. After all, this is the Beer Garden... ;D

Well, 'cause Nagem quite honestly sounds like some sort of disease of the nose.
Perhaps I should just string some random letters together... like, uh... Rivakelore.
....
Or maybe not.
